Hi there! You don't need to craft deviljho actual longsword to unlock its layered longsword. You just need the following materials:
Deviljho Gem x1: obtained by hunting the usual deviljho
Elder Spiritvein Bone x1: obtained by hunting tempered tier 3 monsters in the guiding lands. tier 3 monsters are monsters such as elder dragons, deviljho and rajang. But do make sure that they are tempered and are in the guiding lands.
Great Spiritvein Gem x1: also obtained by hunting tempered tier 3 monsters in the guiding lands.

- Ace Hunter Coin x1: obtained from doing Area Quest 08 or 09, they are high rank arena quests.
- Hero King Coin x1: obtained from doing Arena Master Quest 06 or 07, they are master rank arena quests.
- Spiritvein Solidbone x1: obtained from hunting any tempered tier 2 monsters (i.e., Barioth, Diablos, Legiana, Rathalos etc.) in the guiding lands
- Spiritvein Gem x1: also obtained from hunting any tempered tier 2 monsters in the guiding lands.

Just purchased iceborne any idea on how to get any of these layered weapons?
Hi there! Welcome to Iceborne! To unlock the ability to craft layered weapons, you will need to beat the final story boss of iceborne, then clear a few cutscenes to unlock guiding lands. At first, there will only be 4 regions available in the guiding lands (forest, wasteland, highland, and rotten vale). You then have to follow the special assignments (by talking to NPCs with a purple "!" icon on their heads to activate) to unlock 2 additional regions in the guiding lands (volcano and tundra). After you have unlock these 2 regions of the guiding lands, you should be able to unlock the layered weapon menu. Hope this helps. Let me know if need more info! Thank you for the watching my video! Hi Nicholas! For most layered weapons, they should show up when you have all the materials for them. However, for Fatalis and Alatreon layered weapons to show up, you need to craft the actual weapon, and upgrade it fully, then the option to craft the layered version will show up. Hope this helps. How do you unlock the workshop sword layered ?
Hi there. To craft it, you need the following materials:
- Ace Hunter Coin x1: obtained from doing Area Quest 08 or 09, they are high rank arena quests.
- Hero King Coin x1: obtained from doing Arena Master Quest 06 or 07, they are master rank arena quests.
- Spiritvein Solidbone x1: obtained from hunting any tempered tier 2 monsters (i.e., Barioth, Diablos, Legiana, Rathalos etc.) in the guiding lands

What's that about the "base" and "parts"? Is that something like having the blade of the divine slasher but the handle of the Stygian Zinogre longsword, and vice versa?
Hi Sparda. Yes it's exactly like what you described. However, only layered blades that are "bases" can have "parts" added to them. Divine slasher is a "unique" layered longsword so it can't have a "part" added to it. The name of layered divine slasher is "Workshop (Unique)". Also, Styian Zinogre is also a not available as a "part" as there are only around 21 "parts" available. All other layered longswords that are labelled as "base" will work as you described with the available "parts" (e.g., barioth, tzi-tzi etc.). Hope this helps!😊
Hi, I don't know if you'll see this but I have a safi longsword at level 23 but I can't put layered weapons on it? Do I need the materials for at least 1 layered weapon for the option to show up?
Hi there! You should be able to put layered weapons on a Safi longsword that is at any level, because the base weapon that I am using in this video is a level 1 Safi longsword 🤣 are you able to put layered weapons on any other weapons? I think the option to layer weapons is unlocked when you have unlocked all 6 maps in the guiding lands. Hence, if you haven't already done so, you will need to unlock the volcanic region and the tundra region by talking to NPCs with the purple "!" on the heads. Let me know if this helps. If not, we can try to troubleshoot further :)
It does this to me I can only equip a layered weapon only if it lets me augment it

Shara Ishvalda Gem x1: A rare material obtained from hunting Shara Ishvalda
Elder Spiritvein Bone x1: Obtained from hunting tempered elder dragons in the guiding lands. To unlock tempered elder dragons in the guiding lands, you need to be MR 100 or above and level up one of the regions of your guiding lands to level 7.
Great Spiritvein Gem x1: Also obtained from hunting tempered elder dragons in the guiding lands.

Kulve Taroth Golden Nugget+ x1 = obtained from hunting Master Rank Kulve Taroth
Elder Dragonvein Bone x1 = obtained from hunting elder dragons in the building lands. The elder dragons need to be non-tempered versions.

Hey Lizator07, sure of course! Unlocking layered weapons of Alatreon and Fatalis is different in that you need to craft the actual weapon and then upgrade it to the final stage, then you will be able to craft that layered weapon. Hi there! To get Share Ishvalda Unique, you need the following materials:
Shara Ishvalda Gem x1: Obtained from hunting Shara Ishvalda
Elder Spiritvein Bone x1: Obtained from hunting tempered elder dragons in the guiding lands. Do note that the elder dragons need to be tempered.

- Azure Star Shard x1 = obtained from doing the event quest USJ: Gold Star Treatment. I think that the quest is a low rank 3 star quest.
- Large Azure Era Gem x1: obtained from doing the event quest USJ: Ballet of Frost. This is a master rank quest.
- Elder Spiritvein Bone x1: obtained from hunting tempered elder dragons in the guiding lands. To unlock tempered elder dragons in the guiding lands, you need to level up at least one region in your guiding lands to level 7, which will require you to be MR 100 or above.
- Great Spiritvein Gem x1: obtained from hunting tempered elder dragons in the guiding lands. Same requirement to be MR 100 or above and have at least 1 region at level 7 in your guiding lands.

How do I change it back to the original look of the weapon after? I use Safi's Sword, and it's awakened, and I changed its look to UnAwakened, and now i can't change it's look back to the normal Awakened look
Hi Z. There is an option for you to remove the layered skin. You should be able to find this option at the last page of the menu. If I remember correctly, when you remove the layered skin, I think the materials will be returned to you too (but not the points/zenny). Let me know if it works :)

Hello man i just wanna ask do you actually have to craft the weapons first before having the options to make it a layered weapon?
hi there! There is no need to craft the weapons before being able to make the layered versions. This is true for most weapons, except for fatalis and alatreon weapons. To be able to craft the layered weapons of these 2 monsters, you will need to craft their weapons and upgrade them to their final version, then you will have the option of crafting their layered weapons. I know it’s bit late but do you know where can i get that sakura like long sword is it an event only or should I purchase it or is it a mod?
Hi there! I remember seeing a speedrun of fatalis with it and my first thought was that it should be a mod. My video should cover all the layered weapons that can be crafted and the sakaura longsword is not in there. I also believe iceborne doesn't have layered weapons that can be purchased. So ya I believe the sakura long sword is a mod. Hope this helps!

Tempered Dragonhold x1: obtained from hunting tempered Stygian in the guiding lands. to unlock tempered Stygian in the guiding lands, your tundra region of the guiding lands needs to be level 7.
Elder Spiritvein Bone x1: obtained from hunting tempered tier 3 monsters in the guiding lands (e.g., rajang, elder dragons). Stygian is a tier 3 monster so you will get this while hunting tempered Stygian in the guiding lands.
Great Spiritvein Gem x1: same as above, but this is a rare drop, so make sure you wall bang the tempered stygian as much as you can to make it drop shinies and pick up all the shinies you can.

Hi John. You don't need to own the actual weapon to make its layered weapon. I think out of all the weapons, only fatalis and alatreon weapons have this requirement where you need to have crafted the final form of the actual weapon then you can craft the layered. ☺️

@@nitinraju1648 having at least 1 of each material will definitely make it appear on your crafting list. But having the very first item might be enough to make it appear already. I am not 100% sure on this though.

hi mate! to get the guild palace layered longsword, you need the following materials:
Fest ticket x1: obtained from doing the master rank event quest 50 Shades of White (hunt a Barioth in the arena, but not an arena quest)
Spiritvein Solidbone x1: obtained from hunting tier 2 monsters (e.g., barioth, diablos, nargacuga etc.) in the guiding lands
Spiritvein Gem x1: rare material of tier 2 monsters in the guiding lands.

@@kknt9378 yes that's right. More specifically, you need to level up the Coral Highland region of the Guiding Lands to level 7, then Tempered Namielle will spawn. To be able to level up any region in Guiding Lands to level 7, you need to be MR 100 and above.

Yup, you can get them by hunting tier 2 tempered monsters in the guiding lands. Tier 2 tempered monsters are Diabolos, Barioth, Legiana etc. All the best!

Hi sbirro! To unlock the workshop layered longsword, you need ace hunter coin x1, hero king coin x1, spiritvein solidbone x1 and spiritvein gem x1.
Ace hunter coin: obtained from clearing any 8 star and above high rank arena quests.
Hero king coin: obtained from clearing master rank arena quest 6 and 7.
Spiritvein solidbone and spiritvein gem: obtained from hunting any tempered tier 2 (e.g., rathalos, zinogre etc.) monsters in the guiding lands and gathering the shinies they drop, carving or post expedition rewards.

I killed a tempered fulger anjanath but still no layered weapon option showing up

@@CasualHunterFelix i do love the weapon, though I discovered that technically black steel can be a layered option by maxing out the xeno ls, unfortunately that means I cant use my fatty long sword.
Funny enough the Xeno Cypher + seems to make every single base model darker, even the bone and kulve ones
What does layered mean
Hi there! Layered means that they are just skins, they change the external look of your weapon but your actual weapon remains as it is. Hence, your actual longsword can be the alatreon longsword but you can layer it by making it look like the fatalis longsword. Hope this helps! @@lancesundiam8369 hey Lance, sorry that I missed replying to this comment of yours. and I am also sorry I don't have any tips on fighting behemoth solo, as I have tried but failed in doing so 🤣 if you are playing on playstation, you will need a ps plus sub to play with others 😭 if you are still trying to clear behemoth, maybe you can try to get a ps plus sub for a month and try to do SOS multiplayer. The good thing is that with master rank gear, we don't need a full party of 4 people to clear behemoth. 2 or 3 players with master rank gear should be enough to do that.

Hi Lorenzo! Are you referring to the workshop layered longsword? If so, you need ace hunter coin x1, hero king coin x1, spiritvein solidbone x1 and spiritvein gem x1.
Ace hunter coin: obtained from clearing any 8 star and above high rank arena quests.
Hero king coin: obtained from clearing master rank arena quest 6 and 7.
Spiritvein solidbone and spiritvein gem: obtained from hunting any tempered tier 2 (e.g., rathalos, zinogre etc.) monsters in the guiding lands and gathering the shinies they drop, carving or post expedition rewards.

Hi Thibs! For most of the layered weapons, you only need to have the required materials for the options to be unlocked. The required materials usually include a material from the tempered version of the monster in the guiding lands, so you would need to have leveled up your guiding lands enough to unlock the tempered version of the monster. But for Fatalis and Alatreon layered weapons, you will need to craft the actual weapons and then upgrade them to the final version, then the layered versions will be unlocked. Hope this helps! How do i unlock the seething Baselgeuse layered wapon
Hi Sofia, to unlock the Seething Baselgeuse layered longsword, you need the following materials:
Tempered Blastscale x1: obtained from hunting tempered version of Seething Baselgeuse in the guiding lands.
Elder Spiritvein Bone x1: obtained from hunting tempered elder dragons in the guiding lands.
Great Spiritvein Gem x1: also obtained from hunting tempered elder dragons in the guiding lands and other tempered tier 3 monsters in the guiding lands (e.g., tempered deviljho, tempered seething baselgeuse).
In sum, all the above materials need you to hunt the highest difficulty monsters in the guiding lands, which you can only unlock after you reach MR 100 and is able to level up your guiding land regions to level 7. Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any questions :)
