Corsair 6500x Review - Corsair has responded and more!

- Prawn here with a detailed review of the @corsair 6500x case. I've previously made a couple of build guides on this case and a video showing one particular problem. Now Corsair has responded to that issue (watch to find out what they said).
I think this case is pretty ace. It looks good for sure, the thermal performance isn't terrible. It's a bit of a pain to build in, but when it's done it looks great and runs quietly. What more could you ask for?

Bravo for bringing this cable and cage issue to light and thanks to them for taking this design flaw seriously.
Yeah it's a great move from Corsair
As of today, they haven't provided the fix yet.
Good response corsair! I honestly didn’t think they would do anything and here they are manufacturing an entirely new part. Great!
I almost chose this case but instead I went with the Lian Li O11 RGB EVO. I'm happy with my decision. The cougar FV270 was also in the running because of its uniqueness.
The Evo is great.
Till now corsair still hasn't provided the fix yet on the HD cage ☹️
I like their response, my next build will be all CORSAIR ❤️
Good luck with it!
For those having trouble with the top screw on the glass panel, open the door first. Also it's important to keep a hand under it to prevent pressure on the hinges while doing so.
Edit: Just re-tried it, and turns out keeping a hand under the door isn't necessary, it's secure enough. So just need to make sure the door is open wide enough for the screw to unscrew.
Thanks for sharing
Good result, well done from both parties.
my son built in corsair case, dont know name, had 2 front panel stand offs that broke off when opened first time.
What we have been dealing with is how bad the icue software is. brand new build, 1 week old and had to reinstall windows due to some weird effects that the software did. he built a completely corsair setup and it sure seems to be a pile of junk. after reinstall left icue off and so far no issues.
Good review, I built my last rig in a Corsair 4000D, I like it but it's a not ideal. Considering a Corsair 6500X , Corsair 7000D or ASUS GT502 for my next build.
Thank you my friend.
Thank you too
I have this case and before i bought it, no one had mention the light on the power button blinks when in sleep mode with the power of the sun behind it...lighting up my bedroom as if it was daylight.
Interesting point. I never use sleep mode but that's food for thought for the future.
@@TheProvokedPrawn give it a shot man!
also, your videos helped me with my lian li fan set up, thank you!
@@reikojons glad to be of assistance! 🦐
I own the Corsair 7000X. The 6500X isn't a bad case but compared to other manufacturers the price and quality control falls short especially against Lian Li. I still like Corsair but not for their newer cases.
How's the 7000x?
@@TheProvokedPrawn The same as the 7000D but the tempered glass panels look nicer at the cost of a small difference in temps. If you your not using an AIO/open loop or live in a hot climate I'd stick with the 7000D.
If only Intel were as good as Corsair, well done 🦐! 👌🏻
I immediately liked and told you about liking the video due to your voice lol.
I appreciate that
@@TheProvokedPrawn super relaxing experience with a polished aesthetic your channel. Well done to you!
@@xdata3267 very kind ❤️🦐
the first watercooling system was put in criminally, pipes cranked in below cpu level hurts my eyes
It's perfectly fine. As long as the pump isn't the highest point in the system
@@TheProvokedPrawn you are absolutrly right and i take that shit i said back 100%
Thanks for the information. I was very hesitant about buying this product. I was thinking of switching from my Corsair 5000d Airflow case. Would it be better to go for the Corsair 3500x model?
I've not tried the 3500 yet but will soon
cool
What happened to the Samsung G9? So cool to see it.
Nothing, it's on my other desk. 😂
Are you meoni ff14? Voice sounds familiar
I wonder if anyone ever asks them if they're me.
Hey, very good review! I like your videos! I recently got the 6500X for my white build. It has 10 QL 120mm fans with AIO on top with ML120 as a push and pull system. Pull in from the bottom and side and out from the back and top. It's not officially supported but a 360 fits in at the top as a push and pull with 120mm fans. (H150i Elite Capellix). My 5800X3D has 74-75 degrees AVG when gaming. My RTX 3080 has 68 degrees AVG. Will I get better temperatures if I install the AIO with push and pull on the side? Thanks in advance. Best regards from Germany, Alex
My experience is lower CPU temps side mounted as intake, yes.
@@TheProvokedPrawn okay, Is it bad to take the ML and QL fans as push and pull or would the fans have to be the same?
@@alexzockt3662 in a perfect world they'd be the same but it won't hurt.
I know this is just a case review video and the system probably won't stay built, but you should install the radiator with the tubes on top.
No. You're wrong. ua-cam.com/video/DKwA7ygTJn0/v-deo.htmlsi=nBDf76Va0N9KIXhy
The filtered panels look very cheap and flimsy. Disappointing from Corsair. Always enjoy your reviews though 😁
Other people have said as much. And it's fair but as long as you aren't yanking them off constantly it should be fine
did you prefer the top-tube side mounted radiator or with tubes at the bottom?
Tubes at the top looks nicer imo
I know this may sound stupid , but considering the thing going on with intel, I am almost done building my pc, and I wanted to know if I would be bottle necking my system with a rtx 4080 super and a i9 12900ks, I was suppose to put a i9 13900ks but intel F that up, thanks in advance for the input.
I doubt it
With the new microcodes in the bios update you should be fine running the 13900k, if you Google bottleneck calculator you can see what bottleneck you'll have with your GPU/CPU for gaming, productivity and everyday tasks
5.25 inch HDD? That format is unknown to me.... 2.5 and 3.5 are familiar
🤷🏼♂️ I assume that's including the cage
@@TheProvokedPrawn must be so. Just find this interesting as they do not talk about 5.25 anywhere on the product page and mention 3.5 and 2.5 bays. Also cannot download the manual, must be offline for the revision.
This is no problem for me at 20 years of PC experience, but that statement is very confusing on it's own and new builders do not know what the differences are.
@@teemu3370 5.25" Drives were a thing back when hard drives were measured in mb rather than gb/tb. Their weight was measured in lbs/kg rather than oz/gm too... lol
@@TexasSquid Must be around the age of big floppy disks
i have a 12900k, and i wanted to get a ASUS rog strix z790-a gaming WIFI drr4 will it work normally or will i need a bios update before using the CPU?
Should be perfectly fine.
You don’t have AC?
British homes don't as standard
@@TheProvokedPrawn so you’re telling me Harry Potter was under that staircase with no AC!? Wait until I tell my daughter. Lol
What monitor is that?

MY PC mobo have 3 pwm system fan headers and one 3 pin argb header . in total 3 argb pwm fans i want to connect to mobo. the fans also support Daisy Chaining as long i know. better if you tell if MONTECH AX120/rx120 PWM ARGB Case Fan support Daisy Chaining .(i will buy 2 montech rx120 for intake 1 ax120 for exhaust ) . can i connect 3 pwm argb fans and a cpu cooler on my mobo without fans hub? can i sync light and will all the wire be inside of case? will their be mass in aesthetic if dont use fan hub?
I have a video on Montech fans here which might help ua-cam.com/video/70FKcn8EDNQ/v-deo.html
@@TheProvokedPrawn is MONTECH AX120 & rx120 PWM ARGB Case Fan support Daisy Chaining as i have only one argb header ?
@@TheProvokedPrawn will i be able to aesthetic if dont use fan hub? i dont want to use hub. pls reply
Lian li copy
It's amazing how often people say that. Does Lian Li have rear connect cases?
Lian li didn’t invent dual chambers lol corsair has older cases that are also dual chamber
The AIO tubes tucked behind the GPU look like shit.
