CONWAY STEWART 358 The PIXIE Pen

I’m a newbie to collecting and restoration. Your video assuages my apprehension in pentooling - meditative as well as instructional. Thank you for sharing!
Thank you so much for your feedback. I will try to make more restoration videos.
Beautiful work and it is an enjoyable work you do on many pens including this one.
Look very casual simple work but I agree this is really top skilful work . I love how you fixed that Lever with the ring. It is an unusual system. Thank you for sharing your skills ...
Thank you so much, I am happy You like it.
Thank you so much!
Hi Dennis, I was watching some of your videos and this one might be your best video so far. We all miss your amazing content. Hope you are doing well. Regards from Lisbon, Portugal.
Very nice! Patience is a virtue!
Thank you!
Really fascinating to watch. I have a Conway Stewart 475, my first vintage pen, in a similar condition. This video takes away a lot of my concerns about restoring it. Especially the fact that I don't have to shellac the pressure bar to the sac! (I thought that was the case when bits of the old sac were stuck to the bar.) Thank you.
Thank you, I am happy to know, that my video could help to somebody!
Very nice job. Thank you.
Thanks for watching.
I have been looking for a video for a while that shows how to remove and reinstall the leaver on a fountain pen. Most instruction I could find on the topic just said DON'T. I used to think that maybe the pen barrel was made around the lever. But now I can see how it functions. I'm going to try to remove and reinstall the lever on a junk pen barrel in my parts bin.
Hi, this video is not super detailed about how to do it, but I hope it lets you understand how it works.
It's not super hard, but not very easy. Just remember, highly likely after removable, you will need a new ring, for example, you can make it from the spring, just find a good size and thickness.
Parabéns, excelente restauração ! ( from Brazil )
Thank you so much!
Thank you, your video made me happy too!
Thank you so much, more restoration videos will follow, just I need a bit of time.
Nice job Denny, keep up the good work. Stay safe.
Thank you, Stef, I will !!!
Excellent
Thank you!
Awesome. Thank you very much.
Thank You!
Very informative video, I’m subscribing. How easy is it to source the parts?
Thank you, Different parts different difficulty ))
I really like your videos. Have you ever done a Conklin crescent filler
Hi, Thank you.
Unfortunately no, I never had any Conklin pen yet.
Great job! What the white powder that you use around the sac?
Thanks . it's talcum powder.
Incrível! Sensacional! Parabéns!!!
Thank you!!!
Great channel and great work.
If i may ask @HappyPens whats the oldest fountain pen in your awesome collection ?
Hi, Thank you.
Of course you can. Well, I need to think to remember .. At this moment I would say , Waterman 12 in superb condition and Aikin Lambert( that pen you can see in my Instagram, I have photo there) . I had few very old Swan pens 1890-1907 . but have sold those to proper collector of Swan pens.
@@HappyPensVideos Thank you, i just found out your channel and i'm sure loving your videos. Keep them coming and thanks for your reply :)
@@valmonta3647 Thank you, keep watching and leave comments )) I'm trying to make more videos, but my work takes a lot of time.. As well, I have videos in few languages, but trying to translate all new videos now to English.
Awesome video!! What did you use to clean and restore the shine to the barrel, cap and section? Also what did you use to clean the metal parts and the feed? I am very interested to have a go myself to learn more about fountain pens. Was that shellac used to attach the new sac to the base of the section? All fascinating stuff. Thanks for inspiring me to have a go!
Thanks. To polish I use different kind of polishes, you can find lots of them on ebay. For new ink sac I use shellac, that's right.
Many thanks.
Great job! What glue did you use?
Thanks. Where exactly? For ink sac? Shellac.
What polish do you use? I'm interested couse it gives nice polish and it leaves patterns on the body.
It's a simple plastic polish, Special made video for such questions: ua-cam.com/video/ONqa1yNbAUE/v-deo.html
@@HappyPensVideos Thanks for response
Good job! 💪
I'm very curious about the polishing compound that you use in your restorations?
it's a simple plastic polish )))
Can I ask what the white powder is?
@@trezises In case you're still wondering: I think it's talc - I watched another video about replacing an ink sac, and he used talc like here, to lubricate the sac
