- Belgrade, which translates to "White City", is Serbia's capital and largest city. It is situated at the confluence of the Sava and Danube rivers, where the Pannonian Plain meets the Balkans. Belgrade is one of Europe's oldest cities, with evidence of settlements dating back over 7000 years. The city has a tumultuous history, conquered and fought over by various empires, such as the Celts, Romans, Goths, Huns, Ottomans, and Austro-Hungarians. It has been destroyed and rebuilt 44 times and has been bombed multiple times throughout the 20th century, including by NATO in 1999. Despite its turbulent past, Belgrade is a diverse and vibrant city with a unique atmosphere. It is renowned for its bustling nightlife and is often called the "city that never sleeps". If you're planning a long weekend or a city break, don't miss out on these fantastic things to see and do in Belgrade:

The saddest thing is,most of Serbs do not like their fatherland,and toursists love Serbia more.Selfish money addicts.I like Serbis the way it is,economy will rise,just it needs to take some time.For all Serbs from all of the world,It won't hurt you to visit your motherland once more!That is all I have to say,at least tourists who will come will be happy.Come to Belgrade at any time!

Been to this grand non-touristy city. The best: Ada beach in hot summer mornings, plenty of secessionist buildings, well-dressed ladies on the streets, homemade adjvar! The bads: parks full of rubbish and shady men, tiny old quarter, not pedestrian-friendly streets.
It is actually a shame that Titos gravesite was not on this list
I think Serbia IS not a country prepared for tourism.......when I was there the central square and all around was under work ....many cobblestones streets....waiters are not nice..... Not many museums available
