Am I the only one that, when doodling a random human, everyone keeps asking if it's me? It's pretty annoying...

Also, when I start, people tend to think I know exactly what I'm going to draw before I draw it -_- I have a vague idea, but not enough to describe and talk about it. And I'm too annoyed to talk about it.

One time when I wass doodling in class my teacher came up to me and said "If you like to draw so much, why don't you just go to an art school instead of wasting my time." But it's not that I don't pay attention I just like to do something with my hands like doodling and no one understands that.
Melissa Same! There are times when I draw in my favorite class because I get to move my hands and as Im focusing on the picture, Im also focused on the lecture. But if its a boring class, chances are Im going to doodle and not listen XD

I wasn't looking over my desk for a few minutes and when I came back there was a huge circle over my drawing which she claims that it's for a background and I was actually pretty rather pissed as it was for an art trade ahah 😅

The thing is artists get away with drawing opposed to reading. That’s why doodling is so nice because teachers I’ve had can’t really say “stop drawing.” They can tell ppl to “put the book down” if they were reading, but for us artists, we can do whatever we want.

I hate it when I'm drawing in class and teachers think I'm not paying attention. Once, when I was in 5th grade, I was drawing Stella from the winx club while my substitute teacher was talking. She thought I wasn't listening so she comes towards me, grab my picture, crumbles it up, then throws it in the trash. Before she did that, I was actually listening to what she said. ;_;
That was similar to my experience, my substitute teacher literally hollered out to the whole class " Drawing is a sign of not paying attention!" Although I was literally following along at the same pace if not faster then the class. She threw the paper into the trash where they where never seen again.

I got curious and looked around 'her art book' and found out it was my book on my profile. I called her out and when her posse tried to defend her I pulled out my phone and showed her ME ON MY PROFILE! And her posse never went with her everyone began to dislike and guess what. I forgave her and now she's sitting next to me and I'm helping her draw.

my least favourite thing is how teachers always singled me out because I was the doodler. I'm always drawing and teachers used to get so upset because they thought I wasn't listening. one time my social teacher yelled at me until I was in tears for doodling in the margins of a worksheet while we were watching a video.

1) when people try to force you to draw something 2) when people point out flaws in your drawings 3) when people look through all you art without asking 4) when people who aren't even that skilled at art start giving you tips you know they saw online 5) when people start using your art supplies (ESPECIALLY TO DRAW ON THEIR HANDS) 6) when teachers call you out in class because they can see you drawing 7) when somebody tries to take your art and show it to everyone 8) when someone attracts attention to your art when you just want to be left alone 9) when people say "you draw too much", "you should focus on intellectual things instead" or "are you rich? Why do you have so many pens?" 10) when you ask someone for advice and they assume you want to copy them 11) when someone compliments it and you say "thank you so much, but honestly it's not my favourite" and they think you want attention 12) when somebody is clearly looking for attention or tries to one up you

Can relate. No offense to people who draw anime. There's so many cool variations in style. I personally like Ghibli. But it feels rather unoriginal to me. I've outgrown that. And people can't seem to let it go! Oh, you draw different, it's not as cool as overused, overly redundant anime!
