I just saw Meshell Ndegeocello in March. She and her band were incredible. I was on the edge of my seat during the whole performance. Good music still exist. Sometimes we have to look for it though.
I use to wonder why I loved Esperanza Spaulding and I was quickly reminded of MeShell Ndegeocello. They love to experiment with their bass and deliver a message; even if you’re not ready for it!!
this music is free, as in liberated. At no point does it seem that some musical convention or habit dictates what happens. The performances are beautiful. I'm thankful and happily envious. Another thought, imagine being the bass player in Meshell's band.... Wow.

What I love so much about Meshell is that it's not about 'her', it's about the music. The music has so many twists and turns, yet always funky (or is that, 'grooving'), yet it can be listened to on so many levels. Fantastic, thanks TDC.
