I just wanted to say thank you I was privaliged to watch this Video I was never a Royal Marine But I was a officer in the Light Infantry and I admire the RM so much They are second to none
I know this feeling well;I was sat in that same hall with my wife and daughters in December 2005 when my son got his 'green lid'.What a buzz......... Good luck lads, you've done well.Take care.
6 mins 36 seconds says it all. That tiny gesture of acceptance has cost him 9 months and more pain, sweat and uncertainty than anyone who has ever done this will ever know. Happy Days.
I have known Royal Marines and without exception they were not only the fittest, toughest and most self-motivated people I have known, but they were also amongst the most decent and honourable with a morale code which seems to be instilled in them. The best of the best within the British forces and they do us very proud.
I served 26 years and looking at these lovely British lads, I wish them Godspeed and envy them the excitment ahead of them, sadly I envy them their youth also. God bless them all.
well said Yetti, indeed the american marines are nothing like our ROYAL MARINE COMMANDO'S. I have the proud honour to be father to one of them, and two riflemen.

your videos amazing, your brothers done an amazing thing and i wish him all the best, its tough to get that far and your video proved how good it is when after their 32 weeks of training and all their hard work, how great it must be to finally recieve the green beret :) x
The Royal Marines Dress Green uniform looks similar to the U.S. Marines dress green uniform with the exception of insgina and the beret and the dress blues similar.
Well Done to your brother for passing out and well done to you for making the video. You can quite rightly be proud of him. Good Luck and I hope his time in the RMs proves to be worthwhile and rewarding ! :)
im in the royal marine commandos done afghan once basra 3 times and served in 3 black ghost ops so you can say im a veteran so congrats i remember mine very exciting! im an officer
Korsa i wish your brother the best of luck, as all other Marines and service men/women out their. I personally will be going to the Royal Marines and watching that makes me want to join more. Was quite funny as my surname is also Hughes so it was in a way (Hopfully) Looking into the future for me.
I wasan Able Seaman in the Navy in HMS Endurance during the Falklands war I looked after the SBS before they went ashore to retake South Georgia with Hot tea and buscuits they all came back safe. After they went off to retake the main Falklands later one of the SBS known as Skoby came back to the Endurance at the end of the war and told me about Kiwi (SBS)he use to do press ups ready for beating the Guinness book of records he was killed by friendly fire, May he RIP.I will never forget

Just for info PJFT is changing from 1st October 2008. It will soon be conducted as follows: - 1.5 Miles on treadmill in 12 Minutes 30 Seconds, Stop treadmill and Leave 1 Minute for rest, Restart treadmill at a rate of 1.5 Miles in under 10 Minutes 30 Seconds Pretty much the same as the 3 Miler on PRMC (except that's on the road!!!)
@Simps3210 because these people have nothing else to argue about, it is very sad considering we fight along side each other and are their to support each other
He was a dirty bastard playing 5 a-side though, he seriously upended me once which kept me from running for about 3 weeks which wasn't ideal as it was just before my Juniors! To give him his due though he never complained when I properly scraped him along the gym wall a few months later in sweet revenge. Happy Days 😁
@tubsandtiles3 Cheers but it was delayed due to me being a rejoin and not have correct documentation so they need the okay from the Royal Navy to process me through, so i just need to wait from a new date now.
I WILL!!! try My Best To earn the Green Beret and be in this parade...Mark my words dear Mother, Father and Family...Doubt me all you want but in the end i WILL! be making you Proud And during these 32 weeks+ the least i can give is 99.99%
by the way black ghost ops is the nickname we give to night time stealth operations and ask your brother if he remembers the iron stretcher from training
Im going to The Para's and there is lots of Rivalry between Royal Marines and Para's but there is respect between us we both know we're a step above! "Utrinque Paratus" "Per Mere Per Terrum"
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning, We will remember them
how is the whole troop thing done, is it like in order of the batch of troops like 938 troop comes in, the 939 troop comes in is it done like tht? Has he been to Afghanistan yet
pressups, pullups, situps, running 3 miles split in to two, you know the deal. thats what will prepare you the most, they tell you that in the afco and they are bang on. i broke my ankle 10 days ago, so i aint startin training untill like september now :@ pissed me off bad, i should be in day 2 now. ive been waiting more than a year and now bang, my ankle breaks.
Why, I ask why, does there have to be a debate over which military is better? People, being proud is one thing, being arrogant is another. Please grow up.
I just wanted to say thank you
I was privaliged to watch this Video I was never a Royal Marine But I was a officer in the Light Infantry and I admire the RM so much

He was a dirty bastard playing 5 a-side though, he seriously upended me once which kept me from running for about 3 weeks which wasn't ideal as it was just before my Juniors!

Since he only upload and comments on gaming videos I'm saying he stayed behind his keyboard and never made it to CTCRM.

Your comment more or less sums up the US military.
makes me proud to be a brit WELL DONE LADS WE ARE THE BEST!!!!!!!!!
1976 Vintage SLR's was us !
Dammo, that comment was unnecessary. Both Corps have proud traditions and share much in common! A true Brit who also respects the Yanks
Im going to The Para's and there is lots of Rivalry between Royal Marines and Para's but there is respect between us we both know we're a step above! "Utrinque Paratus" "Per Mere Per Terrum"
spell check on " Per Mare per Terram " please .
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
