Anyone else replay starting at 4:58 to make sure I heard that Hedwig has hooves? Great video! I got the Owlery, Boat House, and Anglia, the Forbidden Forest seems not worth the money and I too do not feel like the Trunk of Disappointment set is worth it. Can't wait for more in the Castle Set!
Oh no worries at all, no offense taken! Thank you for your comment 💚😂 I had to laugh at myself because I literally read your comment and I was like… why did I say hooves?! Rofl
Great review Jean, loving the content and time and effort you put into it. Probs not likely to get these as we do not generally get smaller sets. Price is a never ending debate and whether these are collectively worth the cost I think comes back to whether would be buying it around release or waiting to get it on discount down the track.
I'm not a harry potter collector, but I like the idea of these small/medium size sets. I would like Lego Star Wars to have a few more sets in this size. The Lego Group has been pushing for large and giant sets for adults.
just bought the owlery today, planning to get the boathouse and considering Hagrids hut, i already have the 2019 version but thinking this one could act as an addition to that, Hagrids big, he needs a bigger house lol.
I got the whole wave and my thoughts are as follows. Ford Anglia is good, my only criticisms are it comes with only one suitcase while it should've been two, and the headlights should've been yellow like in the 2018 one - it would make more sense given I'm using it for the Forbidden Forest scene. Hedwig scratches my owl itch and feels like micro version of 76391, which I'm happy about as I don't care for the additional fluff and there's also no point collecting those green roof castle sets just for the golden minifigs anymore. Modular Forbidden Forest I'm actually very excited about and I ended up getting 4 of this set. Of course it's terrible value just for the trees considering I ended up with 4 Buckbeaks I don't know what to do with, and the choice of creatures is rather eclectic - but that aside it allowed me to create this really mysterious and customizable forest on my shelf, which should hopefully go well with the summer Aragog set. And I share Jean's take on how Hagrid's Hut combines with it - very underwhelming and feels like an afterthought. Different color foundations don't go well together; those clips should have been on the edges of the hut; they should have been in the back and not the front; and the dog house build should have come with the clip as well. Overall the forest suffers from being an unplanned addition to the wave, and the hut - from the last moment decision to make them compatible. I didn't like the Boathouse much. The roof is kind of flimsy, same for the grate pieces on the sides, the oars and the portrait are not really attached to anything so try moving the set around and they'll be all over the place. Besides it's just small and can't even fit both boats inside. And the Owlery is my major disappointment for this wave. It's not really good for a playset, like there aren't even door frames enough to fit minifigures in. And for a display set, it could be an epic place to display all the owls from different Harry Potter sets. Instead it ends up being this super cramped environment where you have just 4 studs for owls, exactly like that tiny owl post from 76422 (like what's even the point of those double studs if there's not enough space to put two owls side by side?). There is no display spots at the top of the tower, and while it begs for those transparent sticks which you would put owls on to make it feel like they're flying around - there's none to be found. Between this and the Boathouse, I'm now kinda concerned for the future of this modular castle system. Maybe I should've just gotten 71043 instead? And the honorable mention to the Sorting Hat - it's really amazing and was very interesting to build. It's obviously overpriced, but that's kind of a common trend for Harry Potter sets I suppose. If those prices ensure we are guaranteed more waves going forward and in a few years from now we're gonna end up with the complete modular Forbidden Forest, Hogwarts and Diagon Alley systems (and maybe something else on top of it) - then I'm on board. Feels much better than randomly buying standalone Icons sets or experimental themes that might be discontinued after a single wave if the sales are not satisfactory.
Great review!
I think it's awesome you're also a Slytherin.
I really appreciate hearing your opinion on these new sets. Too many Lego channels I follow have gotten stale.
Agree 😊👍👍
I love that Neville’s toad is hiding in a secret compartment
I'm just glad they've released those plant leaves in dark purple! *taps foot* waiting until those show up on Lego online PAB.
Beautiful lego kit! Great video! Thanks for sharing!
I want that baby owl, Fang and especially Norbert. I have no defence against super cute lego critters.🤠

Are the tiles random or predetermined this time?
I honestly have no idea 😭
The “smaller” ones seem like decent value. Not the buildings. Loving the updates on instagram as well! Keeps me up to date.
We didn’t think so once we saw the size and scale of them. But we may still get 1-2 because they are pretty awesome!
To be honest, there’s only 2 I want. The owlery and the boathouse
Does a body fit in the car trunk? asking for a friend
the only sets I really want are the castle pieces. I dont really need another car or hut but If I see them for cheap maybe I will get them.
Ill wait for sale prices
Bless you for having to say owlery so much.
Owrrlleelwery
$150 double or triple that if you ain’t in the states hmmmmm LEGO was alway expensive nothing has changed.
And i thought Star Wars were expensive
Lego is just getting too expensive at this point 😢
Yeah nah. Individually some of those are worth their price but collectively they ain't
LEGO sets are never worth the insane prices they charge for them, lets be honest lol
Well until it's 6 months after retirement and you suddenly want it and its price is 185% and growing lol
