Yes, the schools didn't taught us even in Tamilnadu

1. The word “Navy” is a gift to the present day world from Tamil. It is derived from the Tamil word “Naavaai”.
2. Sozhlas (Cholas) had a dedicated naval fleet.
3. Rajarajan did not invade Sinhalese. He recovered northern Tamil territories from Sinhalese invasion, which was later completely recovered by Rajendran.
4. Rajendra Sozhlan did not directly attack Sri Vijayan kingdom who held Sozhlan merchant vessels, he split his fleet into two, where one sailed straight and the other sailed the unknown and circled back the island without modern navigational compass as in use today.
India is proud to have Tamils, just like Telugus, Kannadigas, Malayalis, Marathis, Punjabis, Bengalis, Oriya, Assamese, and all other cultures.

The English word "navy" itself was dervied from the tamil word நாவாய் (Naavai). In Latin it's called Navia. It's the same with the word Catamaran. It was derived from the tamil world கட்டுமரம் (kattumaram).
Most of the indian words call it the same. Nav. Its also a Sanskrit word so don't say its taken from tamil itself. Most of the English words are taken from Sanskrit as many of them studied sanskrit, translated it in English and also used the ancient Vedic knowledge for inventions. @@vishalautade509 Refer Chau Ju-kua travel records. This population count may not be common in European history. But It is very common in Indian and Chinese history. Eg. 1. These were invasion forces, which means ~50% force had to be left to guard their home base and other borders. These numbers were confirmed by multiple sources. Im really sad that our Tamil people were let down by the Indians in the fight for freedom of the Eelam people. The whole world turned a blind eye when the Srilankan government tried to ethnically cleanse the Tamils of Eelam straight after the British gave freedom since 1948 - 2009.
Surprise fact: Chola Royal lineage survived through Cebu Rajahnate of Philippines. It was founded by Sri Lumay or Rajamuda Lumaya, a minor prince of the Tamil Chola dynasty in 1521.
That is based on a dance-epic. Sadly, the stories are not yet proven to be factual with available primary sources.
Cebu and the rest of the Philippines, nevertheless, had evident Hindu-Buddhist influences.
You are telling correct only now also evidence will be there in Philippines
@@mudshovel290 It really does matter if the royal lineage of Chola survive from historical point of view. There are many unsolved and hidden facts on Chola that may be revealed (although slight chances of probability). FYI, till to date we couldn't discover the razed city, Kota Gelanggi of Srivijaya which many believing it as City of Gold. Also, lost Royal lineage of Gangga Negara Kingdom of which the princess married to Rajendra Chola and many more..

Even in the books of CBSE children learn only about North indian rulers and Persians dynasties. Never there is a mention about Cholas or even any kingdom or king from the southern India. Such a bias CBSE is. Feeling shameful and raged. Great work Team 👏👏👏Truly the cholas deserve huge importance in today modern india.
EDIT- The MOST important point was that rulers were ambitious, highly skilled and EDUCATED. Which unfortunately isnt the scenario now.
The fault is yours. You vote for corrupted governments like congress, and DMK/ADMK and expecting a benevolent result? In your dreams.
not north indian centric - only muslim centric. chola empire (and even vijayanagara empire) were ignored because they prayed hindu gods and built massive hindu temples and art flourished here. Nehruvian history books written by the likes of Romila Thapar and Ram Guha only celebrate muslim rulers and muslim architecture - everyone knows about Qutab minar, Charminar, Akbar, Babar, Hyder ali and tipu sultan but not many know about hindu, jain, buddist, sikh kings unfortunately!
That's the issue. South was always given a step brotherly treatment. Hence many prefer a seperate South India country.
NORTH INDIA EMPIRES?
Where? Maybe u have read cbse books in parallel world.
Where is Mauryan empire, Ahoms, Rajputs and sikh gurus?
CBSE only love jihadis.
No... actually, no history books , either CBSE or any else is of any use... these books don't even tell about all rulers of India from North part... no mentioning of Kings from Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, etc... they only mention some from Rajasthan , Madhya Pradesh, U.P,.... those who were close to Delhi... thats all... they only teach turks, mughals, etc... to keep them relevant... as per project started by Nehru and the first 5-6 education ministers... they never wanted us to know the truth bcoz that would eventually lead us questioning everything, such as, destruction of temples, partitioning of India, etc... and the truth why British left India in hurry..
Yes Poombuhaar was the main Seaport. Had capacity about ten thousand ships.
My native village is near to Gangaikondachozhapuram
Assamese had Ahoms, Tamils had Cholas, marathis had Maratha Empire, etc etc but unfortunately we have only learned about Mughals 😢😢🚩🚩
Because Mughals had the system of documenting... When historians looked for evidences there were mounting amount of documents from the mughal era.. But what is really unfortunate is ur morbid hatred..
@@redyhkhan there is enough and more documentary and architectural evidence about Vijayanagaras, Kakateeyas, Ahoms, Chola cheras and many others even today. What you said is to brush a malicious agenda under the carpet. It was a known, pre-determined attempt by past politicians to separate Indians from their own glory and pride. A nation's richness is in its identity, pride and culture. A culture crumbles like a pack of cards when its people take no more pride in it. Very good Video!!! Rajendra Cholan is world's greatest emperor, I am not exaggerating anything here, from his teenage he was in the battles, 100s of battles and zero defeat. So many expeditions across the ocean even we can't imagine today, and another interesting stuff happened when he wanted to bring Ganga water to make his new capital city as sacred place, so he sent a small troop to get that done but many kings were challenging them on the way to Ganga River then what happened was a History !!! He made those kings to bring the water to Gangai Konda Cholapuram after defeating them all !!, since then he was also called as 'Gangai Konda Cholan'. Majestic!! Even though Chola kings made our presence across the ocean, Pandiya empires are our roots who ruled south since Sangam age which is 10-15 k years. But we know very little about them. without them our language, literature would have been lost.
Thanks for bringing the Tamil kingdom in the limelight.. it’s a proud full movement for us. Few the British slaves in Tamilnadu owning the Tamil pride through Dravidian rule which a British driven agenda
Why we not recognize our own history. We need cholas and others in our history books 📚 📕

The CHOLAS were one of the pioneers. Who captured most of the ASEAN countries like INDONESIA, SINGAPORE, MALAYSIA, CAMBODIA, VIETNAM & THAILAND including SRILANKA, MYANMAR & the MALDIVES. So huge were their kingdoms & their Navy.
They captured it to fill their ego up, Kalinga already had a navy and we were friends with SE Asians
We still celebrate our trade with the SE Asians
Cholas invaded SE Asia and also attacked Kalinga, and thus the friendship broke from the SE Asian side, and now they are all Converted
Cholas ain't great, it was us Kalinga guys first who did all the stuff of Navy
This video is just an Appeasement to Tamils
Why? Is it a crime to show Kalinga as great too?
Just because Odias are nationalist and don't take credit and just do their work and stay silent, do we deserve this discrimination against Tamils for credit of the Navy?
Tamil Nadu, as we all know, is the shouting epicentre of SEPARATISM
That's why the Indian government is appeasing them and now even the media
So wow, is shouting like hooligans and saying anti India dialogues assure you getting rewarded?
I mean if that's the case, then should Odias also start demanding such things? Nope, as an Odia and on top of that an Indian, I won't allow that
Tamil Nadu has a history to keep Tamil Nadu as 1st, India as 2nd
Odias don't do that... Sorry these words are harsh but Kalinga found the navy first, check all our monuments and see for yourself... Plus the trade relation festivals like "Bali Jatra" also speak volumes
Cholas killed the relations India has with SE Asia just to satisfy their ego and greed
Kalinga was instead a friend to SE Asia and connected them with Indian culture
Our naval history predates the Cholas by a margin of 500-1000 years that is... Yet Cholas getting the credit, Marathas getting the credit? Why?
Is Kalinga seen as a dead empire? Ngl, the negligence of coverage of issues of Odisha still till modern date also speaks volumes...
Are we not Indians? We not showing our greatness and give us credit where it's due?
Are we gonna celebrate Cholas too who betrayed Indian interests, just like that Ashoka?
Until when do we wanna see lies?
This is getting out of hand
Well whatever, atleast god himself (Jagannath) is with Odias...
A peaceful state of mind is better than this mess... I guess...

That's a dispute amongst us at those times

Gonna ignore the fact that we celebrate 'Bali Jatra' which commemorates the trade relations with Indonesia's Bali, till date?

This video is nothing but a Chola Appeasement
This shows a terrible reality, you gotta shout so much with half baked facts and show separatism in the state in order to gain sympathy and attention
While Odisha never does it, no time for petty politics, we silently support Indian teams and sponsor them
Yet no coverage for that too
Why this discrimination against us Odias? Are we not Humans? Aren't we Indians?
I'm a proud Indian, then an Odia
For Tamils, they are proud Tamils first, then Indians
That's the fundamental difference
And that thing is being appeased right here with half baked truth
Fully ignoring the Funan Kingdom
Also ignoring how come Phillipines top area has the name Kalinga too...
Horrendous
And even horrendous is you justifying your superiority mindset by showing copy pasted facts from goddamn "Wikipedia"

Being a peninsular nation, our history is more woven with the sea and maritime trade. It is simply mind blowing just to imagine how advanced and equipped these kingdoms were. Our history books completely ignores all these aspects and gives importance to the inavders of this country. Serious need to rewrite our history and take pride in it as a nation.

2. An Indian aircraft carrier/Naval head office should be named after them as a tribute.
3. A statue in madras beach looking & pointing eastwards.
