I love how he just decides: "I'm not usually allowed on the counter, but this is an emergency." and acts accordingly.

My daughters dog hasn’t been trained as a service dog, but we’ve been realizing she is sensitive and has been noticing my chronic illness symptoms. The other night, my heart was acting up…I knew it, but I hadn’t said anything to my family about it. She jumped up on the couch and laid across me and then just stared at me in the eyes. At first I just thought she wanted loves, but she never does that with me. She was acting like she was nervous about something and trying so hard to tell me! Then I realized what she was doing…it was amazing!

My cat's not trained to deal with anxiety or PTSD, or autism either, and yet she does it perfectly well on her own
she's now a certified ESA and is legally allowed to go to any store with me
Into those haters who don't understand: I didn't have a CHOICE! I couldn't even shop for GROCERIES without an anxiety attack
I have asthma and couldn't wear a mask is 2020, but my doctor refuse to give a note even though I asked. I also have autism, and the store harassed me into a meltdown and then called the cops on me and made me so scared (officer physically and sexually assaulted me (got on to of me hips to hips after pushing me back on my cart) that I can't even get groceries without my cat or a person, and most of the time people don't want to go with me.
Nobody ever mentions the CATS that can sense medical problems...
my sister-in-law used to have a cat who could sense her seizures. he also played fetch!

@@sheyennemerritt3215 I understand you have anxiety attacks, but when someone actually physically or verbally does attack you, you should definitely say something, it’ll only continue if you don’t ask for help or do something your self, there’s nasty folks out there who would do things to vulnerable people, don’t be vulnerable, be the next voice that changes someone’s life!

@@sheyennemerritt3215 cats can be so gentle and so responsive, as someone that figured an ed was better than grocery shopping for similar-ish reasons, im so sincerely glad that youve got the resources to do the necessary things like shopping and that you get to do it with a cute lil guy that keeps you safer! Well done for getting through, youre doing amazing and your wonderful friend in the form of medical equipment sounds like one of the best things that could have happened to you. Stay safe and keep practicing so much kindness and self love with yourself and your cat! Safety and comfort can exist outside, usually in the form of a cat anyway imo but especially when theyre trained to support you ❤😂

It's not just comfort; a lot of service dogs are trained to do deep pressure therapy on the legs to help slow the handler's heart down or to keep them on the ground until they even out. Mine would do that for me as well. Would sometimes be the difference between me having a full blown seizure or not.

This is what gets service dogs entrance when ESAs are turned away. This dog is medically necessary. They are trained to recognize an episode and respond according to their training. What a good friend!

I wish I had something like this...I recently had a stroke and then found out, this is my second one...my memory is fading away and instead of getting mad or upset about it, I try to be positive and laugh a lot...like when I go to pick something up but my brain and hand don't work together, so I call it fluid hands. I have forgotten what things are called so they are now things ( my poor husband) and I don't drive anymore ( which is awesome) driving is overrated!! Having something like this dog, would help immensely!!

❤I am so thankful 🙏 people who need this type of help for their independence are able to get it with these smart dogs. I’m also so very thankful that during such scary times as whatever emergency episodes you may have that you have such a loving cuddly dog there to help comfort you through your difficult times ❤ what a wonderful blessing to have your independence because of the dog and you provide a loving home full of lots of snuggles for him after long days and nights of always being available to alert you when you need it. ❤❤❤

I never realized how much help a service dog would be until we got ours. He helps my wife so much, with seizures, Pots, BP, keeping her balanced when walking, and more. What a blessing!
