One of my favorite lyrical choices in this song is the use of "helpless". The layer added to the word considering it was first introduced by Eliza when she was helplessly in love with Alexander, and then it's later tainted by Maria Reynolds in the second act during Hamilton's affair.
In the workshop version before the "I wish I could say it was the last time.." bit you had Eliza and Angelica out of scene with their "helpless" and "satisfied" motifs

Jasmine's voice really changed from the "and Peggy"
Jasmine Cephas Jones played both Peggy Schuyler and Maria Reynolds.
Same with Daveed Diggs played both Lafayette and Thomas Jefferson.
Okieriete Onaodowan played Hercules Mulligan and James Madison.
Anthony Ramos played both John Laurens and Philip Hamilton.
This is one of my favorite hidden gems! In regards to the opening of the show:
Lafayette/Thomas Jefferson and Hercules/James Madison: “WE FOUGHT WITH HIM” (Lafayette and mulligan fight with him in the war, Jefferson and Madison FOUGHT with him politically.)
John Laurens/Phillip Hamilton: “ME, I DIED FOR HIM.” (😢)
Peggy Schuyler/Maria Reynolds: ME, I LOVED HIM. (Peggy, as a brother-in-law- “Peggy confides in me”, and Maria as a lover.)
It's always great watching someone react to Hamilton who doesn't know much about the history. When I first watched the musical I was already prepared for the most impactful story beats because I knew the history- but it's much more fun watching someone who doesn't know.

Also, fun fact, the final line of this song is an homage to the musical The Last 5 Years, where that exact line is sung as cheating occurs.
The orchestration is the same as L5Y in that moment as well. The first time I ever heard that I lost my damn MIIIIND! LOL

Other than that: The last line from Hamilton saying "Nobody needs to know" is a direct quote from The Last Five Years musical song Nobody Needs To Know, and an homage to its genius writer Jason Robert Brown who's an inspiration to Lin-Manuel Miranda. The song is about the male lead cheating on his wife and the orchestration is done with 2 celli and a violin. Therefor the last string motive could also be interpreted as a musical homage to that same song.
I love the 10000% R&B vibe of this song. This can go on the radio tomorrow lol. Its soooo good! But the subject matter isn't 😳
