Average isakai: teleports a single person to save the world. Much time is wasted as said person is gradually introduced to every other character, experience friction, eventually warm up to each other and learn to work as a team before taking down the big bad.
Arthur and the Knights of Justice: teleports a team of football players who already know each other and work well together so they can skip right to the ass kicking!
I didn't even think about it that way but that's a really good observation.
Its the end of an Isakai but at the start. Shinji has gotten over his personal problems, and all the squad mates side-quests have been completed 100%, and your physical stats are maxed out.... and then they are given the best wargear.
Honest its nice to have a group of heroes that aren't constantly cracking one liners.
On the topic of Izakai, I recently learned of a parody show where the main character is the truck driver of the truck that seems to run over all the izakai protags and sends them off to fantasy worlds.

I just realized there's a surprising amount of symbolism in the Knights of Justice being a football team... and the villains having theming... So, the Knights have their own version of the Round Table in huddles, they've already had practice together, so they would know generally each other's strengths and weaknesses, although, transposed to a new dimension/time period with new obstacles to overcome... And the villains being themed, besides just being toyetic would mirror the other teams they would play in games, and thus, can summon their school's mascots... Which, I mean, I guess the Knights do, as well, since I'm pretty sure their team mascot is the Knight...
What happens to the bus driver, you think? I mean, when he's in Arthurian time, does he still drive the bus? Imagine that on the battlefield... Lord Viper and the Axeman charge, only to get run over from the flank by a hulk of metal and plastic going 50 miles an hour, totally obliterating their steeds. But, bus man can only do it for so long before he runs out of diesel.
How dare you make the choice made by the writers so meaningful. I made fun of the Knights being a football team but the way you put it makes it seem like it's the most obvious choice for so many reasons.
Also Sir Brick was the bus driver I'm pretty sure, I know it was one of the knights.
@@HauntLich Lots of weird scenarios like that make sense, but you have to look at them in a very particular way to find it. I just happen to be good at picking out symbolism.

Yeah. Toons were centered around Toys back in the day. Mostly cause Animators and VA's like to eat too. It was awesome when you found one that still put effort itno its stories and characters though. There were a few of them.

Oh, man, King Arthur and the Knights of Justice was my jam back in the day. Fun fact, there is a canonical part of the King Arthur legend where... I think it's Arthur's dad has a wizard transform him into his own nemesis so he can go bed his nemesis' wife, which is also the time that that lady gives birth to Arthur and Morgan Le Fey. So, Guinevere in the toytoon not recognizing Arthur King isn't her husband might have some canon explanation.
It's wild how your video starts out about Knights of Justice the toytoon, veers into the game, veers into Knights of the Round, and touches briefly on the Dungeons and Dragons cartoon... talk about a decent spread.

OMG I remember that show as a kid I thought it was so bad ass. The other show that was so amazing and it's so sad they never did more of was Monster Force from 1994 it was an amazing concept I wish they had just taken it farther.

I watched this with my husband who is a huge 80's/90's cartoon nerd. Absolutely loved this!
Absolutely watched this show every Sunday morning. It was a fun ride. I'm now reminded that the art is eerily similar to Captain N's. Arthur looks just like Kevin and Guenevere looks like Princess Lana. Speaking of Captain N, I hate that that was the version of Castlevania we got as kids. While I don't particularly love it (especially season 3), I did enjoy the Castlevania Netflix series.
Also, didn't know the show had a SNES game, but Knights of the Round was definitely a fun game. I got the Capcom package from Steam so I can play it often.
Definitely hoping you cover the D&D cartoon. After 20 years, we finally got a "finale" for it thanks to the comic and radio play.
