      NEVER thought about that.
I have a stack of blankets & comforters, etc...IF they'd want I'd much rather it go there than Goodwill IF they're indeed "scammers" too now.
Plus, my cover are not perfect. Few minor stains here/there, had several surgeries of my own, but if they don't mind that, then 👍
We have very small W & D here in our apt. so can't fit them in.
Guess I could go to a laundry mat and use one of those huge ones & get them as clean as possible for the sweet fur babies.
Those comforters would work good for whelping boxes too.

Basically if your in a bind and you do not know what to do with old items, try homeless shelters or if it is pets they have places to donate for them as well. @@lazyhomebody1356 Yeah ... not exactly true ... Goodwill Industries began in Boston at the turn of the 19th century as an idea by the Rev. Edgar J. Helms. The idea was simple, fight poverty not with charity, but with trade skills-and provide a chance for the poor and the unemployed to do productive work.
Therefore, Goodwill was and IS mainly a "hand up" organization to teach people how to make a living and increase their job skills. I worked with developmentally disabled adults in the residential setting and out of all the "workshop" programs where our clients had jobs, Goodwill was the only one that paid a decent wage.

Goodwill does a lot of "good works." They provide jobs to the handicapped, give job training and operate "sheltered" workshops for people who need help obtaining and keeping jobs.
You may not be able to make a "killing" at Goodwill anymore, but I think they realized that resellers were buying stuff dirt cheap and making a bunch of money that Goodwill could be making themselves.
I know it's fashionable to rag on Goodwill these days, but when I worked with developmentally disabled adults, they were the only ones (of our clients' employers) who paid a decent wage. They have to keep up in order to stay in business without shafting their workers.
And, not for nothin' ... Goodwill is a secular nonprofit organization with no ties to any religious institutions. I don't support organized religion, so some "thrift stores" which are affiliated with churches just aren't for me.

I respect that the Goodwill helps our Disabled people, Thru their workshop programs that help the disabled learn to work, and complete other functions thru-out their work day. I used to work in the transportation business, and I drove groups of these people to the Goodwill in our town Monday - Friday. I heard many stories of how these Disabled people completed their programs. One Lady began the program as a Disabled person who was stretched out on her Gurney because she could not stand or sit up properly yet. This lady was actually able to stand up and walk and talk by the time I stopped transporting her to the Goodwill. I don't know who pays for these Disabled people to go to these workshops every day but I suspect that Medicare has a lot to do with these costs. BUT the THING that annoyed me as a person shopping at the Goodwill was their Prices were Sky High. I could actually buy new items of the same quality for less at other stores, and I don't mean 2nd hand stores either. I have trouble telling people to look for things to buy at the Goodwill because of their prices. But I DO respect what the Goodwill does to help the Disabled people.

Their prices have gone up because resellers have been all over UA-cam bragging about the killing they make buying goods very cheap at Goodwill and selling on eBay and other outlets. Regarding the charity shops. Im in South Australia and i had a conversation about that subject with my daughter. As she was trying to give one of those places her sewing cupboard. Anyway i commented they are getting a bit above themselves lately and forgetting the charity side. She said that some of the reason is because of people like yourself that resell. But that is just an excuse. It does not matter who goes in there and purchases said items. The base reason for the shop is for people to purchase cheap charity given items. Because the main target buyers is people on low income. They are supposed to be none profit. If said item can't bring top dollar in the shop that should not matter because someone who has nothing should be able to go to them and get free or cheap a decent clean piece of furniture. It should not be them taking something only if they can sell it for top dollar.

I do the same thing with the Styrofoam cups, i usually double them and keep reusing them until they leak, you can put your ice and a drink in them and its still cold the next morning its like having a bed side refrigerator .

A year or 2 ago I was looking for a crock pot and goodwill had a used one for the same price as a brand new one in like Walmart. Goodwill can have good deals but you have to know your pricing. You can get deals. I usually buy stuff for the 50% and 75% tags.

I went to Goodwill with my mom and i saw a bead maker that I had wanted, but the price they wanted was twice the price I could get it from Walmart. One of my brothers wears a 15 and the other one wears a 14.

Pit viper sunglasses are extremely popular. You won’t have a problem selling them. You really lucked out getting ten pair for $35. Really great deal.

Not all good wheels are like that obviously you guys live in a well wealthier neighborhood and different town all the goodwill are independently owned by people in their community and separated into territories And they're the different horror territories by the president sets their prices on that local economy
