Super smooth mashed potatoes make me want to puke. Am I eating pureed baby food?? Do I not have teeth?? It's just gross and makes my mouth feel bad. Lumpy potatoes all day long please

Not a bad way to make mash. If you want to take it a step further, put it for 20-25 minuites in water, then when you mash it it doesn’t crumble and has a better consistency, then as a slash of butter and/or milk, it’s great in bulk so you don’t have to do it often but improves the taste a lot, and you don’t have to feel like you’re eating pure butter vomit.
Nice. i love how you nod after each video. that’s how i respond to tasty food since I’ve been a kid, and my family makes fun of me for my exaggerated nod. I feel vindicated with your videos and how cute you look.
recently ive been making a guizhou region inspired mashed potato. plenty of garlic, onion, chili, and the secret special ingredient, fermented black soybean (douchi). super tasty.
For ultimate top tier level 4 mash. Follow #3 upto and including the ricer. Then throw that away, take the butter add salt, and eat that. Cost me 20k in Paris but I now know their secret.
Just my personal preference but a more solid consistency similar to the inside of a baked potato is much more delicious. Also adding just a little mustard to the mixture takes it to the next level.
I don’t really like lumpy mash personally as I have a texture problem with food like bits of fruit in yogurt but I will say these look to creamy and soft I do prefer them to be more airy light and fluffy cloud like but I bet they still taste grate ❤
And I thought an 'expert' like him would put nutmeg in - at least - the last version. When I learnt to make mashed potatoes as a child, it used to have butter, milk, salt and lots of ground nutmeg in it as a standard. Various herbs were optional and depended on what the other parts of the meal were.
Yes, my God. I constantly see mashed potato recipes where they completely overwork the potato, add way too much liquid, and make it a paste. Literally just mash till there's a few lumps scattered about, and stir in butter, milk, and seasoning.
My usual recipe is between Intermediate and Pro: roasted potatoes, pressed through a ricer, and mixed with cream, butter, ground mustard, and enough roasted-and-mashed garlic to vampire-proof the entire house. Packed into a ramekin, topped with parm, and torched 'til melty and mouth-watering.
Does anybody else prefer less buttery dry mash? I think its better for most of the things you have mash with, stew, bangers with gravy, they are all very wet and adding super buttery mash just makes a plate of mush, not for me
U genuinely make me give u likes 😂 I don’t like videos usually this type of cooking is similar to the homemade food I make at home. Grind the grain etc. 🤙
Or at least mashing them with a fork. Imagine having a specific tool for mashed potatoes and calling that beginner level. We mash them with forks like god intended LMAO
It’s funny to see how deep the misinformation goes as far as butter is concerned - He said in regard to the French style “It’s worth blocking your arteries over” presumably because it has a lot of butter in it. France has one of the lowest levels of heart disease in the world, and one of the highest consumptions of animal fat. Butter is good for you. Vegetable oil is not.
Pomme Puree is essentially potato flavoured butter.
Pretty much haha
noone like, its at 666
It's basically make mashed taters then add enough butter until the mashed taters are the same shade of yellow as the butter 😂
‘Ungodly amount of butter’ is basically every French food
It's actually a famous French recepe
@@lilneoFRI'm actually a famous French recipe
People who make mashed potatoes as smooth as possible are monsters.
Lumps make me wanna vomit lmao the sudden change in consistency kills me
Super smooth mashed potatoes make me want to puke. Am I eating pureed baby food?? Do I not have teeth?? It's just gross and makes my mouth feel bad. Lumpy potatoes all day long please
Smooth mash potatoes is where it’s at, lumpy mash potatoes have horrendous mouthfeel to them
@@Livinghopefulandhonest lumpy mashed potatoes feel like I'm eating a smashed baked potato
Smashed potatoes is where it’s at. I can’t with smooth textures. 🤢
I once ate 5lbs of mashed potatoes. It was glorious. Actually it was 5lbs of potatoes but with the butter and infused milk likely closer to 6 or 7.
how are you alive?
yea right
Is your stomach the size of a watermelon or something? How did you lug around 5 lbs of mash afterwards?

And yet, lumpy fluffy mash is still preferred
I agree. Try adding diced onion.

@@frankiegoestoponsonby4741 adding corn is better imo.
if you haven't already you should try it
Yup! I love when mine still has bits of potatoes in it! I don’t like when it’s like the texture of wallpaper paste lol
@@cantpopdismollylumps AND leave the skins on 🤤 I like to add turmeric for the colour and a bit of nutmeg for an extra flavor

Bro deadass I’ve been microwaving a potato and crushing it this whole time
I barely even peel my potatoes anymore bc I'm lazy 😭
How long do u microwave for

The 3rd Mashed are worth the heart attack ! (Keep up the good work, amazing vids)
No heart attack comes from butter. Eat animal-based foods. Eat biblically
Thank u for making my day
I hope that u are successful in life and that u enjoy what u do

I'm a mashed potatoes lover and these looks so yummy 🤤
I heared peeled potatoes for a weeknight meal and knew something was wrong. Peeled is for holidays, any other day you leave some skin and lumps in
recently ive been making a guizhou region inspired mashed potato.

Very good video 🎉👍
beginner is the best one 100%
The last one👌
Love your style of videos!!
The cake icing thing on mashed potatos is crazy😂❤
A bit over the top 😂

lumpy mashed please, anything too smooth is like choking on glue.
I agree. I also like a bit of potato chunks in it. It just makes for a more variable consistency
@kyuutatsu that only happens if you overwork the potato while mashing it fine.
I don’t really like lumpy mash personally as I have a texture problem with food like bits of fruit in yogurt but I will say these look to creamy and soft I do prefer them to be more airy light and fluffy cloud like but I bet they still taste grate ❤
I feel like the only person on earth who loves lumpy mash
As a potato fiend,
SHARING IS CARINGGGGGG
It’s so obvious that you’re going make it big on UA-cam! God be with you 😊
I was told that there would be mashed potato, pureé is for the toothless
I thought you would do the powdered mashed potatoes for beginner

Well done Joe!
Gonna be honest. Such smooth mash seems wrong. Gotta have a few lumps
RIGHT?
Yes, my God. I constantly see mashed potato recipes where they completely overwork the potato, add way too much liquid, and make it a paste.
Literally just mash till there's a few lumps scattered about, and stir in butter, milk, and seasoning.
Lumps are disgusting. I dont want it to be a paste but definitley without lumps
Its not even about lumps imo , this is just too liquidy.
Am i the only one, who actually likes smooth mash without any chunks?
The second recipe with scallions is Irish champ, my favourite childhood food.
My usual recipe is between Intermediate and Pro: roasted potatoes, pressed through a ricer, and mixed with cream, butter, ground mustard, and enough roasted-and-mashed garlic to vampire-proof the entire house. Packed into a ramekin, topped with parm, and torched 'til melty and mouth-watering.
in finland we say that butter is everything in mashed potatoes
Dude sounds like a young Gordon Gramsey
You should heat your milk/cream with aromats like garlic, black pepper, garlic, thyme/rosemary first and strain it adding the hot liquid in the mash.
The last one is the healthiest of the three. Butter is healthier than potatoes.
Amazing
to me the best mashed potatoes is the mashed potatoes my mom makes she has been making them ever since I can remember
his reaction for every 😲
Don’t whisk mash, it causes starch molecules to bond and you end up with a gluey rather than fluffy texture
the first with some gravy is op
Pure = a chance to get hearth attack from eating it
going to totally do the sour cream and chives one
also "ungodly amount of butter" IS there such a thing?
I honestly prefer it with the masher over the ricer
Does anybody else prefer less buttery dry mash? I think its better for most of the things you have mash with, stew, bangers with gravy, they are all very wet and adding super buttery mash just makes a plate of mush, not for me
I also like lumpier and dryer mash
Leaving the skins on is kino

unparalleled texture ❌
no texture ✅
Make cookies level 1-3 pls
U genuinely make me give u likes 😂 I don’t like videos usually this type of cooking is similar to the homemade food I make at home. Grind the grain etc. 🤙
Skins have flavor and nutrients. Mash should have lumps (not huge ones but lumps)
yumm
And heres me satisfied with tesco ready made mash
The beginning one is the most fancy sht I seen like what do I eat oh no I fucked the potatos
I feel like "beginner" could have been insta mash but "elevated" but thanks for making me feel bad 😂 looks amazing and keep it up 👍🏻
no, insta mash is not for beginners, its for lost individuals without proper taste buds or any sense of self respect.
*Eagerly awaits the reupload of the removed vids*
The omelette vid is what introduced me to your channel.
My dad mixes his mash with a wisk on the end of a drill 😅😂
I think I'm weird because I prefer the lumps and bumps in my mash. Super smooth feels strange to me lol
You sound like you’re about to call Max Verstappen’s mash potatoes fake on live broadcast
Way too smooth, looks like cake batter instead of MASHED potatoes
Coarse mash with skin on is still the goat
Then there's me who intentionally leaves it lumpy
YUM
Why should the milk be scalded?
My arteries are already blocked so I'm making this every week
Homemade potatoes should be lumpy. The only time I want them smooth is if im making potato dumplings with it.
Add some cheese and pipe it back into the skin with some Parmesan and chives on top and bake it and you have a Pomme Arlie
Tons of butter
I think beginner would be a bag of frozen aunt bessies in the microwave 😂
Or at least mashing them with a fork. Imagine having a specific tool for mashed potatoes and calling that beginner level. We mash them with forks like god intended LMAO
Might just be me but I actually dislike mash that has the consistency of yoghurt. Prefer mash to be a lot thicker
Add butter, add butter, add butter, add butter, add butter
Absolute criminal for not adding cheese
Do the oceans 8 song its so appropriate
Excuse me, but butter and double cream are healthy.
Or go one better with ‘dirty mash’. No peeling, minimal mashing, butter, salt, pepper.
so no garlic in any? :c

Uhhh, doesn't Pomme mean apple??? Isn't potato Pomme de terre???
I love my mash with some texture. Yep, I don't like smooth mash. It is a weird texture in my mouth.😂
That is a American dollop of butter
Im sure they taste beautiful but they look more like potato soup than mash😅
i like smooth mash but all of these seem like they're on their way to soup territory, too much milk/cream
I prefer mine chunky, I hate the fine dining steakhouse mash it’s like a cream
the best mash still has the skins on imo
that mashed potato is so goddamn sexy
Sour cream? Are you mad?
Also, I don't want my mash to be an effective liquid.
That's not mashed, it's potato flavored paste. You can make mashed potatoes without lumps without turning it into liquid.
Yes this! Totally agree I think his is too soft? and I’d prefer them lighter fluffier even?
TOO MUCH BUTTER DAMN
This is more like liquified potato.
If it doesn’t have lumps it’s not proper mashed potato
2 and 3 aren't mash, they're puree
