RM (fan cafe and his Vlive vlog in 2018): I wrote 'Singularity' well, luckily I didn't have to edit it and only did it once. The song "Singularity" was composed by the producer I like, so I worked harder for this."
“And there’s Jorja Smith, with “Something in the Way”. She is also my favorite artist. Her composer (Charlie J. Perry) wrote a song, and I added lyrics to the song. And Taehyung (V) sang the song. It took me about 3 hours to write the lyrics. Although it’s embarrassing, I had to record the guide version. I can’t let you hear that because it’s horrible.”

FYI: This song's lyrics were written by RM. It is said that this song is related to Ophelia (Phantom of the Opera) and Narcissus. Overall, the message of the song is about two conflicting egos within oneself (maybe RM himself). V is my bias and he showed such amazing singing and dancing performances.

V has one of the most distinct voices as well as one of the most melancholic voices of our time. His voice resonates similar feelings as singers like Billy Holiday. What's surprising is his vocal range as a baritone but he can also hit falsetto notes. He is considered one of the current singers with the widest vocal range. I saw ppl suggesting "Stigma" which I also think is a spectacular representation of his vocal range; V wrote "Stigma" when he was 19 years old. And, another great song that he wrote in 2020 is "Sweet Night", which he sang beautifully; that one is has English lyrics.

You should react to a live version of singularity, V is magical.
Singularity is the process of being alone with oneself, or the act of being alone. This song is a perfect representation of that. Whether it is derived from Phantom of the Opera or from RM's gorgeous brain if we watch the lyrics it really does describe the act of being alone. RM and Suga have both in different interviews have said their music is never clearly about one thing or the other so that each person listening to the music can glean from it their own interpretation. In the lyrics it says have a lost my voice or have I gained you. Some people have described it as understanding the loss of a breakup. Knowing that a relationship was not good for you and realizing that being with that other person is not better than being alone because what is worse than losing your voice, being able to speak for yourself. No one should be in a relationship where you lose your sense of self. I feel this song is all those things and more because the writing is so beautiful it can be all those things and your vision of this song as well.

This solo track-this LY: Tear promotions is the one that promoted Taehyung to officially be part of the Dance Line, originally composed of 3 Js (Jung Kook, Jimin, J. Hope) just the mere alt R&B with some jazz elements but heavier on Neo-soul adding up to the signature deep, soulful vocals and vibes of Tae make this a truly remarkable masterpiece.
But ofc it didn’t stop there. Aesthetic sounds are nice, yet its artistry still extends to profound lyricism. omg i love this one. Also a masterpiece. Everything about this is art. I like the way you analyze the meanings. For me, its also one of that song where it is open for interpretation. but most of the interpretation i saw always ended up similar/ around the same theme and topics. Yes, this 'love yourself" album has 3 series 1. Love yourself:Her, 2. Love yourself: Tear, 3. Love Yourself: Answer.
This one is under Love yourself: Tear, where the themes/storyline of the album was about how one often sacrifice the love for yourself in order to gain the love of others. Hence, this song is one of that heartbreaking moment when one was contemplating whether loving you is worth it or not? I buried my voice for you, I throw myself in the cold lake for you, I lost myself while trying to find you....that kinda thing.
I suggest you read on these LOVE YOURSELF album series for personal gain to understand their message in the album :)

I give you props for even trying to unpack this song. THANK YOU. They created the LOVE YOURSELF series, with the intention that the 3 albums tell the entire story. Each song has a certain focus, but it’s all part of a bigger message - love yourself. Singularity talks about being singular in loving someone, so much so that you forget yourself. Not healthy. It’s part of the journey towards the epilogue. Keep going. Look up the meanings and interpretations.
