      @@kbrich-nn8odyes! I forgot they had a live audience. which really does help improve the performances of the actors. Actors have said this before even on the big bang theory that if you have a live audience it makes you bring your A-game because you can gauge in real-time how well you are doing at the moment and not just say your lines and make the directory happy. Movie and TV sets often feel like office jobs for a lot of actors and some of them do low pay theater performances just to hear a live audience react and I don't blame them. I worked as an extra on a film set and I will take theater where I didn't get paid at all over that crap. It was cool being on a film set but after the 2nd day, I really didn't miss it at all. I was hitting on female extras just to make the time go by. Extras were treated like furniture and nowadays they call them "background" (like furniture) on the rare occasion that you are not replaced by CGI if you can even find any work. When I did a live performance as a music artist are a theater as an actor, I knew instantly if I did well. No need to wonder but on a film set you have no idea and the director is mostly tired and angry and you can't see him either while filming. In most jobs, you don't know if you are doing well, but they will tell you if you are doing a poor job every time. It's why people dream of being in the entertainment industry. They imagine feeling appreciated or anything good for that matter, but honestly, it's another day job for those who do it more than a day.

    Judging by the audiences reaction, it seems contrary to all the fat shaming jokes Al made, he didn’t necessarily speak for the majority of men when it came to appreciation for the attractiveness of larger women. Though needless to say, chubby chasing was probably far less common back then.

    What's crazy is back when this episode 1st aired back in 1991 chicks like her were considered fat, but now a days they're mistakenly called "thick".

    • @ssjup81
      @ssjup81 2 роки тому

      No it’s still fat/overweight. Thick usually refers to curvy women meaning hips, butt, thighs. Pear shape as that’s where most of the weight would be. They’re not necessarily overweight that’s just where they carry their weight. Stereotypically black girls and Latinas have that shape.

I didn't learn how to talk to girls until after I graduated hs, but once I did I immediately went looking for her. For 20 years I searched until the power of the internet showed me her obituary. I was too late. She had died in a car accident before her freshman year of college. Still stings.

I don’t mind that so much, especially when she comes on to The men in her life like that. This woman, dancing to blue velvet, in blue velvet.

    I often wondered if Ed O'Neill knew what he was getting himself in for in doing a scene with Wendy Jo Sperber (some of his reactions in this scene were kind of "un-Al like"). She could steal a scene from pretty much anybody, as she did here. She was a comedic tour de force. So sad she's passed on.
