I have never seen one, but you couldn't have any pressure behind the fibers or I think they would get blown into the glue and stick laying down rather than standing on end
Phones reading my mind again lol I have a dead head with dried velvet on it and I wanted to restore it and keep the areas with the velvet and restore the velvet! Now I can...wouldn't happen to have a video on making casts of antler would you?
This is the first velvet deer I have done, but after reading the horror stories of the other methods and seeing the results of this one, this is the only way I will do one.
I just did 2 deadheads using those same products. The first came out perfect. The second one I got the antler tips a little too bulbous looking. I wonder how to correct it.Apply apoxie sculpt over the velvet on the tips or try to scrub the velvet off first? How hard is it to remove the velvet?
The velvet is actually really durable. I would take a Dremel with a sanding drum bit and sand the velvet off and then continue to shape the tips a little at a time until you get the look you want then just reapply the fibers where needed
awesome video. Shot a velvet buck today and he busted a lot of his velvet after crashing through the trees. Was gonna send it off to have artificial done. But think i’ll give it a go myself. Appreciate the video
@@thecedarridgechronicles I I order it and the whitetail. My deer has a lot of brown grey in the velvet. Can’t wait to give it a shot. and get it mounted.
@@joeya1970 the whitetail fiber has a yellow tint to it and is almost a little on the green side. I actually airbrushed the first couple I did to shade slightly before trying the caribou. It is light and dark brown and slightly longer fibers and looks way more like the natural whitetail velvet on the bucks I've done 👍
@@thecedarridgechronicles I was wondering watching the video. Looked like a yellow tint. So that’s why I bought the caribou color while I was ordering. I figured well he said could sand it off and do over haha. appreciate it!
Understand this is an older video. But what size lid did you use? Mind came with 3 different ones. Already ordered the whitetail fibers but may order the other fibers you mention. You still using them instead of whitetail? Thxs
Great video! Looks great. Thank you for all your videos
Absolutely! Thanks!
Awesome job, thanks for sharing
Thank you
Dan thinks for sharing. Scenes of nature have some good products for the taxidermist.
Yeah they have all kinds of cool stuff
How much do you think a taxidermist should charge for this to be done?
I'm going to charge $50.

Deer shed antlers business is banned only in india from 1998...
I wonder if they don’t make a gun to do that. Kinda of like a powder coat gun

I sure don't, but it can be modeled by hand very easily with apoxie sculpt if you had to rebuild antler

@@thecedarridgechronicles That sounds reasonable. I might do the same. Thank you
Great video! I haven’t tried one yet. But I might have to get me one! I think the finished product looks very realistic.
It does look really good!
Your the man
Amazing product, great video!
Thank you
Do you just remove all velvet and choose this method or do you use other methods like freeze drying or injections

It's a piece of cake. Buy the caribou velvet kit. It has a better finished look than the whitetail

I use the one with the smallest mesh. Yes I would definitely recommend the caribou fibers

Wow ! That’s amazing ! Looks like the real deal ! Great video.
