The elongated line guide is because when your spool is full of line, the line comes out towards the top and when your spool is depleted after a cast, the line is closer to the bottom. It just allows the line to have freedom to move up and down as the spool diameter changes. Since that has such a large arbor, I don't know that it would matter all that much. But that's why they're that way. A lot of round reels are that way because the level wind is so close to the spool.
Yeah I think so too, but the normal vortex shaped guides would work just as well. So not sure if I like it. Plus it's kinda out there exposed. Feel like I can accidentally knock the guide and destroy it. I'm a clumsy guy afterall lol

Elongated line guide: likely to adjust for the different sizes and mounting height of stripping guides and the angle of the line going to that guide. Also to compensate for the fill level of the spool and fluffing up of the line . It might prevent the line from contacting the top and the bottom of the line guide (in addition to the side-to-side movement) when the line is dispensed during a cast. Probably doesn't make much of a difference in actual distance.
@@berniepechlaner5809 I can certainly see that, but Most are cone vortex shaped, so that should cover that too...
My Calcutta conquest has tons of play in the line guide, considerably more than my airlite which also has play. I think it’s normal with that free floating style design
Yeah I compared the two. My reasoning was that the conquest is bigger, so bigger wiggle lol... Okay that didnt sound right

Dang so many different type now lol. Which would you recommend for casting 1/32-1/4 range lure? (1/32 with plastic trailer) Also will there be a non dc model of the 50 size?
Bait finesse market exploded since I started the BFS niche! So yah, ton of reels in the market now! For what I have used so far out of the box that works well... ark gravity bfs reel for the 1/32nd oz jig and plastic. but according to paper, this should work too! Alphas Air TW/PXBF70 does it. Tatula BF70 does it. but out of the box, ark ftw! Stay tuned to see how this reel do!
I have this reel and I want to ask how much bigger is the airlite bfs reel?
Not that much bigger. I can hold the airlite well.
Even thought I rarely fish ultra light lures. I'd still like know the reel's limit is on ultra light lures. So I know the limits and if it's a suitable purchase.
I usually test to see how low just in case! Never know when u need to go SUL!

lol. bling finesse ftw! I have the older model since I got the roro spool for the Salamandura Air tw. They are remaking that spool with some improvements. So stay tuned! I will get one when it is released!
