Ooh, I love pots. And I have a few clay pots that have been gifted to me. I love my Japanese pot for nabe. And absolutely adore my large Turkish clay pot! It makes a pot of beans so wonderfully. Thanks for sharing how to season them.
Well.. I got this clay pot 10 years ago.. never know we have to season it before use.., the guy in the store told me I can use it with any stove top. damn! That's why my pot seems to leak when I am cooking, I use with electric stove top. Wondering if it too late to season it now ? I have been using it already 5-6 times though.
HI , AS YOU KNOW , I LOVE YOUR CHANNEL , I LOVE YOU - AND I PURPOSELY WATCHED THIS AS MY CLAY POTS ARE ENORMOUS AND OLD ( AT LEAST 50 YEARS ) AND I SELDOM USE THEM BECAUSE I WONDER HOW HEALTHY THEY ARE TO USE ( BUT MAKE EXCELLENT CANDY , COOKIE AND BREAD JARS ) - ANYWAY I NEVER THOUGHT ANYONE WOULD USE ALUMINUM TO COOK IN - PLEASE SPEAK MORE ABOUT THE SAFETY ISSUES OF THESE MATERIALS - WHAT THE CLAY POTS ARE COATED WITH , AND ESPECIALLY THE HEALTH ISSUES ASSOCIATED WITH ALUMINUM COOKWARE !
@@EastMeetsKitchen , but what about breathing in the water vapor ? I know that cooks taught in unenlightened cooking schools love to use aluminum because of the way it handles heat , but in the ' health food ' restaurants of NYC they would never be allowed to use aluminum ! this is important to me , I won't even use my classic expresso pots anymore , and now have stainless steel ( although kept the old ones as ornaments ) ! anyway it's obvious that you don't think that there is a connection between aluminum and Alzheimer's disease , please share your information ! also please speak about the coating on the clay pots , as I have several that I may want to start cooking in again ! I've also been told not to use stainless steel covered aluminum cookware , because the aluminum always gets through the coating ! what is true here ?
I heard oof that problem too but i'm new to this pots. Glazed inside means they should not used wet, so it can crack. Other thing is- i want a pot to make bread- if i can preheat these pots in the oven up to 250°C becasue my dough must be layed in a hot pot. I read this is also not possible, but only in generally not for the pot i can buy -70% so its affordadble for me. I guess i will use as in old days cast iron pots which do not break. I only thought of using this japanese pots- which i did'nt know since yesterday🙏😅- because they are not that heavy. Hmmm

The video is entitled how to season a pot. The you have to sit through 13 minutes before you get to it. This video is definitely not geared to busy parents.
Never use Japanese donabe or any other clay pots to fry food. You can use a little oil if the recipe calls for it, but only metal pots can be used for frying. If you are allergic to metal pans, look into ceramic coated pans.
@@saharastar8377Hi! I found a cheap clay pot for only 30€ so what about making bread in clay pots? I heard it should not be heated up empty but for bread exactly this is needed so the dough comes directly to the hot pot. What do you think, can i usea clay pot like yours? Metal is too expencive here, not possible now.

Cooking pottery is the rare intersection of artistry and practicality. A good cooking vessel is universally functional and stylish in its purpose.
No-fat cooking? Wow. I knew Japanese cooking was low fat but... I'm so happy to learn this! Thank you 🙏

I'm a bit confused because you did't wash the rice before cooking.?
Also, she didn't show the final result. When she was stirring the rice, it looked like it was becoming "conji".
Thank you for the video. Very informative. My advice though…Say no to aluminum. It does cause issues for our bodies including memory loss.
What a great video! I love it! Thank you so much for this :)
what website did you buy the pots?
its my understanding that cooking in aluminum cookware is unsafe and leads to degenerative health issues.
I love you huge chopping board! Great video

Which pot do you recommend for oil frying that is made of stone or clay. I cannot use metal pots.
