I built this model stock outta box and it turned out really nice,Had a hell of a time fitting front end,on e bay a guy sells another resin alternative to the hood with two scoops and it would make a nice pro touring look ,thats my plan to build another ,anyways that's a beauty!!
the extensive body work you've done on this build thus far is typical for what we ('Murican) builders have been dealing with for decades to bring the subpar kits up to at least acceptable, let alone delightfully presentable, condition and specification.. you're doing great work on it so far! 👍Tamiya, Fujimi, Hasegawa, Aoshima, and other well engineered and higher quality kits were harder to find in the US in days past, and were always a welcome reprieve from the tedious work needed for Monogram, Revell, MPC, AMT, Lindberg, etc. 😉
i recently started watching this channel to pick up tips for my gundam/gunpla modeling, and i've actually started work on the polar lights Mach 5! really different animal from what im used to, so mad respect to all of the Old School modelers. def see the learning curve i have to tackle. quick question tho. is there anyway to get custom decals? i'd like to get the "M" & 5 emblem for the mach 5 re-done, since out of box they're stickers. just curious if you knew of any such outlets. many thanks. O/
Interesting fact about the stripes. Depending on who or where the car was built, the stripes could go over the spoiler or under. There wasn't any rhyme or reason as to why. I prefer it going over the top, myself.
I love your attention to detail, but the color choices for this build is rather non pleasing to me but each is their own. would have left the stripes off since they don't jive with the interior color and the red is just meh.
Watching you roll out the wrinkles on that roof decal was pure bliss!
this dude is the greatest Car scale modeler ever. 😅 I wonder if he realizes that 🥴🤣

Looking good, you make it look effortless, but we know different 😉
Awesome, what a lovely paint job. Well done 👍🏼👍🏼

Very educational! I hope you guys do all of your models in this manor! I'm impressed!
I try my best. Yes!
If you were to build it stock and painted the engine bay black would you have brushed it or airbrushed?

So true, I agree!!
I noticed you use a micro set and Solutions holder ? Is it possible to find one...website? I've searched with no luck.
I designed and printed it myself :)

I don't see a link to the silicone sculpting brush you use for the decal in the list of tools. Looking like a nice build.

Where did you get that great decal solution holder.

Someone else that didn't do blue or white for the base color, mine is in metallic mint green w/ the white and black stripes
Those brushes you use for the decals are absolutely awesome, are those foam tips to them?

What is the name/brand of the tool you are using to position the first few larger decals?

I know it’s to early to judge the model , but not a big fan of the white stripes , looking forward to the next episode
I sort of expected a huge gold or white super chicken on the hood. :)
Nah not on the 1970 model. Thats for the smokey car

Be@utiful!
😍👍👌👏👏
Nice build so far but I do find your 2k jobs too thick for a scale model.
You shouldn't clear coat under the hood. Manufacturers do a single stage under the hood.
