Thanks this really helped me out. It was first time on a 2022 and that Phillips head rotor screw stripped on me but I recovered. Thanks again and great job

Many have no idea how many others skip that little rubber plug in the rotor

As easy as you described. The most annoying part are the pesky screws that hold the rotor in place. those almost stripped. I was already ready for it. you have to use a snug fitting screw driver and a mallet to tap those before trying to unscrew them.

That's why the young mechanics at the tire shop were cursing and swearing when they were trying to remove the screws that were almost frozen in place; until the older experienced mechanic showed them how to do it. I had the same exact problem and gave up on the brake job because I was afraid of stripping the threads that hold the rotor in place.

Open the bleed screw, don't take the cap off the brake fluid reservoir. You don't want the crap in the caliber moving back into the system that's how u get an abs failure

Those clips on the pads are sensors to let you know when it's time to replace the pads.

Do a Google or Amazon search for “brake caliper guide pin boot kit“

Not sure what size the Kia requires, but you should be able to find something or get some measuring calipers and see what size you need

Don't go the dealership. Most of their tech's are young and inexperienced. Go to a veteran mechanic who owns his own garage and has common sense and experience. You can't rely on diagrams, you need common sense and some trouble-shooting ability.

Sorry I missed your question earlier. If you go to Amazon, type in “brake rotor retaining screw” and Kia, you will see that they offer an eight pack of screws for a few bucks. Hope this helps!

Most of these screws are what's called a jis.(Japanese industrial standard) they look like a Philips but a tad different.get a jis bit or screwdriver and it will help prevent rounding the head out.. hope that helps..

Those screws are just there for the manufacturing process. They are not needed after the car is built.

Only One pad was warn the other looked like new. That means the caliper wasn't "floating". You need to free and Greece the guides so the caliper centers itself. Otherwise it's just gonna wear only one pad again.
