- I walk the entirety of 23rd Street in Manhattan from the Hudson River to the East River.

"23rd Street is a broad thoroughfare in the New York City borough of Manhattan, one of the major two-way, east-west streets in the borough's grid. As with Manhattan's other "crosstown" streets, it is divided into its east and west sections at Fifth Avenue. The street runs from Avenue C and FDR Drive in the east to Eleventh Avenue in the west.
23rd Street was created under the Commissioners' Plan of 1811. The street hosts several famous hotels, including the Fifth Avenue Hotel and Hotel Chelsea, as well as many theaters. Several skyscrapers are located on 23rd Street, including the Flatiron Building, the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company Tower, and One Madison. "

I would never buy a dog in a big city like NYC. There are no forests, no fields, no meadows, no parks where the dog can run free.
I live in Germany, in the Ruhr area, and I am glad that we have green strips, forests, fields and more here. The Ruhr area is densely built, but it is still very green.

When I was staying at the hostel on W. 20th street in Chelsea, I decided to go for a walk that took me to the Hudson River Park 5:10, I totally enjoyed this lovely, awesome park. Action Kid, have you heard of the Flying Pan, it's an old lighthouse ship transformed into a floating Restaurant at W, 26th St. at the Hudson River Park Pier 66. I went to check it out all I can say is wow!
I stayed in that hostel too back in 2011. Really sweet little place and I love the peaceful atmosphere of the streets around there considering you're in Manhattan. Great video, lovely to walk along on your shoulder.

To each their own. His videos of a different type of "less interest" may interest those with less interesting tastes. LOL. Personally, I like how he goes from cycling, to walking to being in a car, to narrated to non narrated. He evolves with the times/situations. Old school to new school...we get comparisons. Unlike mass media we get unbiased documentation.

Thanks for the video. I lived in a very small studio apartment between 7th and 8th Ave, while going to NYU in the village. Worked at Barneys and was a messenger, and even a part time janitor for the college, got to see the whole city at that time.

Living just down the street while in college, I learned a lot about the Chelsea Hotel. I don't think it has been a real hotel for some time. But all the names you mentioned, I remember hearing about famous people who stayed in that building.

I used to get those looks by tourists in the middle of intersections trying to get pictures of the high rises almost in the middle of the intersections and when I yelled you’re going to get run over well, there’s the look:) Could you also do a passing commentary on which retail boutiques are open or thriving or those having a close out sale! At 44:33 you're walking past one of the main buildings for the School of Visual Arts, founded in 1947 as the Cartoonists and Illustrators School, and was one of the first colleges to accept the GI Bill. The Media Arts Building isn't part of it.

An old lady walking near 8th ave/23 Street, I held the door open for her at a Chase bank and she said....."Don't ever grow old in New York" I still remember her after probably 10 years ago.
Sadly that’s true, there’s this story I remember reading a long time ago, it has many variations iterations, so, I’m paraphrasing, Life and Death were sitting by a lake on a rickety fishing pier, they sat there for days, months maybe countless years, then one day Life turns to Death and asked, Why do people love me and hate you, then Death gracefully and without hesitation wraps its arms around Life and whispers, Because you are the beautiful lie, where as, I am the ugly truth. Take that story however you will, getting old sucks and no one prepares you for it either

I believe the building has a new owner, not sure what all the scaffolds are for. I read what the new owner was going to do to the building, but I think it was mostly exterior repairs.
