I get a real kick out of finding secret compartments in a piece that generations of a family probably didn't even know existed. I have yet to find any gold coins but will keep trying! David

Your videos are delightful! I am always on the lookout for furniture with secret compartments here in Australia. I am now the lucky and contented owner of some beautiful pieces with lots of compartments but, alas, I have not yet found any with secret hideyholes!

Delightful. I can empathise with the husband. I've a bad habit of remembering only *that* I hid something, and not at all *where* I hid it. I'm not sure I'd ever find anything again if I owned a cabinet like that.
I still find the different ways in which these skilled makers provided hidden compartments and boxes fascinating and look forward to seeing what the next acquisition has to offer. David

One never knows and every time I open a cabinet piece I am delighted if I find something hitheerto unknown to me. David
I live in America New York and I just found an English writing slope with 2 hidden drawers. I actually found it in the trash on the side of a road!
