Really good section, especially listening to Buveys thoughts. As a Liverpool fan i'd love to see City relegated but way beyond that the end of petrostates using these teams and financially doping competitions.
On the subject of doping and off the top of my head... Real Madrid in the 50s were Franco's team receiving lots of ill-gotten funding that way (hell, doesn't the 'Real' mean Royal?). Re Liverpool - and I consider myself a fan here - in the glory years of the 60s / 70s / 80s, were they not owned by the guy who ran Littlewoods' pools? A very rich man. Did every club have a sugar daddy with the same kind of financial clout? Maybe it's more extreme these days, but I strongly doubt a single 'historically successful' club got where it is today without a benefactor putting extra money in. Hell, if you really want fairness across the board, every club should have the same sized stadium, charging the fans the same ticket prices with TV shares split more fairly, also.
@@NeilMalthus Real Madrid are still funded by the state (search "Real Madrid forced to pay back illegal state aid"), as well as being helped financially by Spanish banks and the Spanish FA. As for Liverpool. It's only know-nothing muppets and trolls that keep trying to make out that Liverpool's success was down to some kind of sugar daddy. I mean they did buy those titles and the funny part is that they tried to offend our intelligence by acting like they are a gigantic club and they make more revenue than United lol. They got away with this for far too long.
The insulting our intelligence was honestly the most egregious aspect of it. They had financial statements saying they made revenue on par with Real Madrid 😂
Won a few leagues and they’re pulling in more money than a Real Madrid that just three peated the fucking champions league! 😂 DEFINITELY TOTALLY LEGIT 😂
People should be careful of banning Man City, you don't want premier league to look like Italian Serie A with their bans, it took that league back as a whole, I suggest they should get some penalties like hefty fines , points deduction but not too much .Not total ban or relegation, Premier league as a package is even watched more than champions league around the world.
If City get stripped of their previous titles, then both the Aguerooo moment and the Gerrard slip would be both invalidated. Klopp would have won 3 PL's in 4 seasons and Mourinho and Ole would've won a PL with United. It's highly unlikely that City's punishment would be that severe given how their UEFA ban worked out but it would a wet dream for Liverpool and United fans
The UEFA ban didn’t work out because they didn’t have legal grounds to punish city past a certain year. It was too far back. The premier league doesn’t have that issue. They can punish a team for wrongdoings from 1994 if they wanted to. This has nothing to do with the UEFA ban. Also, the UEFA ban allowed city the opportunity to lawyer up. In this instance, City aren’t allowed to. It’s an investigation into factual evidence. If that factual evidence is found to have been in breach of pre-set rules, then that’s it. City are guilty and they can’t negotiate or argue for a reduced punishment. The premier league will punish them how they see fit. And I see this being the most severe punishment possible. 10 years of crimes and 100 charges. That’s not light. That’s not minor. That is seriously severe rule breaches
@@kinnexion It's easy to just write 100 charges and when you go through the charges you discover over 30 is for not cooperating with the premier league... It might probably turn out like the Benjamin Mendy scenario

As a City fan I will take the punishment even if it is severe and I actually agree that there may have to be some seminal moment for the financial correction of football but all I ask is have the same energy for the other clubs. I think you guys are right...there are people behind the scenes machinating ways to get the Super League made. Punishing big clubs will only further their cause and they know it. I think the governing body of Europe should lay down a CONTINENT wide rule of allowing only 10 non-academy/homegrown spots on the roster. Currently in the PL, it's 17. 10 is a drastic change, forcing the clubs to invest in the academy, but not so drastic that the big clubs can still bring in plenty of talent.
I think its important to let things play out but at the same time some of the reports City have previously put out in terms of revenue have been concerning. Specifically this past year when they claimed to be the most profitable club in the world ahead of Barcelona & Real Madrid.

Rory said multiple times he doesn't like the money Chelsea has been spending and wasting... but Chelsea has global appeal and has had global appeal for decades, and they generate far more revenue, ACTUAL... REAL... REVENUE, than City. Nobody outside England gives a shit about City except Muslims in New York and the UAE. City hasn't even won the CL in all this time and still can't even sell out their stadium, yet their revenue is somehow SOOOOOOO high. Compared to teams like Madrid, Liverpool and Bayern who have actually won titles fairly in the last few years.
These absolute jokers, both have been giving it large and crowing about their teams successes, ignoring the damage their clubs have done. Suddenly, “money has ruined football”.
Man City if found guilty need to have the book thrown at them; the punishment needs to be fitting and one that can be applied to any club that commits these apparent financial crimes. Chelsea are the club they are today thanks to Russian money laundering and many of their fans proud of it. English football has been tainted for a long time, its rotten.

As a Manchester United fan its actually fantastic to sit back and watch a Chelsea and a Manchester city fan sit down and discuss the FFP in the premier league. Two clubs who simply wouldn't be relevant without Oil money.
If found guilty, strip them of the titles, but don’t give it to 2nd place, it would be pointless as it didn’t actually happen. Makes a mockery out of city for cheating, but keeps the clubs that finished 2nd’s dignity in tact. Being awarded a title with an asterix isn’t the same, and get rid of city from the league.

interesting Rory saying this now when he has a couple videos last month gassing up his new owner for spashing 750M in 2 windows on fresh new overpriced signings.....
This has been coming for a long time, I was not surprised when they almost got banned from European competitions a couple of years ago. I personally think there should be a massive fine and relegation for sure. Retrospectively they have cheated potential title winners and affected clubs getting into Europe. That being said I think they’ll get away with this like they did with UEFA probably a 3 to 15 point deduction with a £50 mill fine which will not affect them at all.
They only escaped the UEFA ban because it was past the jurisdiction of CAS to be able to do anything in terms of the date. They only have a set number of years they can go back and punish a team for. The premier league is different. They can punish a team all the way back to the start of the league
Rory, you can’t be found “innocent.” It’s “guilty” or “not guilty” Court of law doesn’t try to prove innocence. If they’re found not guilty it doesn’t mean they didn’t do it.

In sports such as Athletics, if a medalist is found to have cheated, the medals are reassigned as if that person never competed, even if their cheating is discovered many years after the event.

The Moore's family never pumped any of their own money into the club, which is the reason why David Moores sold the club, as he knew that the club simply couldn't compete financially with clubs such as Man Utd.
It's only know-nothing muppets and trolls that keep trying to make out that Liverpool's success was down to some kind of sugar daddy. During Liverpool's heyday Man Utd and the likes of Nottingham Forrest were spending more money on players, sometimes breaking the British transfer record.
