3. The Spectre
4. Half The Distance
5. Bull Men
6. Maria Spanish Rose

9. (Tumble) In The Wind (Version 2)
You can clearly hear the breathing difficulties in the first song. And yet he could create great tunes even with his lungs shot, without an eye, and with his health literally failing apart. Kudos to this man.
Hearing that made me cry like a child. The fact that he still sung after it is a testament to the depths of his soul.
His voice alone makes me emotional. You can tell how painful the years have for him.
wow, did not know this existed, just been listening to the 1965 album over and over
I as well :) Check the "Jackson C Frank - The Complete Recordings" vol1, vol2, vol3. Three CDs cointains all 67 his songs.
Same
As well for 10 years…. Thought the album was only one and the last.
A wonderful musician. My heart breaks for him.
I think he'd of liked to know that you heard him.
Gonna be honest:
The school fire in 1954 killed him - it just took 45 years for everybody else to notice.
It took 45 years for his own body to notice.
And meanwhile he left us a fistful of very beautiful songs.
No. Dead men don't write songs this beautiful nor play and sing so movingly. Whatever was in him that made music could not be destroyed by fire, grief, pain and madness all combined. He died because his body wore out. You could say his death was the only ordinary thing about him.
Just beautiful. This man will always hold a dear place in my heart.
I lived not far from Great Barrington Massachusetts where he passed. Its one of the great regrets of my life that I hadn't even heard of him until after he passed away. Perhaps, in another time and place, when we are all together again, I can shake his hand, and tell him what a great artist he was to those of us fortunate enough to have heard of him and his music. Rest in peace, Jackson, through your music, you were a friend to all. God bless.
the embers of that horrific school fire in 1954 never fully died down in his soul
I must thank youtube for suggesting this amazing artist I've never heard of. I need more of him!
I love seeing people posting these songs and giving them the recognition they deserve. This last serving of Jackson's genius yields at least 3 bona fide classics, "Tumble in the Wind," "The Spectre," and "Singing Sailors," all which stand with his earlier more recognized songs. Thanks for posting this!
A sad fate, the man had talent...
Jackson 1965,,,,,,j’adore ❤️,,,Jackson 1997 ,,👍❤️
merci
Where all the good music comes from
Very thanks
Didn't even know these songs existed. Thanks!
Thank you for posting this album. I never knew there were other recordings. I was told he just had the one album. Again thank you.
Is sad and beatiful
he found solace in drink too young. Why? I wonder what encounter, or person, or victory he needed to find a better way. As we pass through life be alert and ready to be kind to the Jacksons at school, or on our street, or at work, or in the happy places.
One of the most well written comments I've ever seen.
He had debilitating physical injuries and schizophrenia, being nice to someone doesn't make that go away.
@@justinkrivers...but, being nice may encourage seeking help, not just trying to drown symptoms in alcohol
Worthy of bookmarking,
Thank you
His pain from the fire required a lifetime of morphine, and other powerful opiate pain medication. Along with alcohol and cocaine to numb his pain and self medicate his mental illness. It was a living hell. Others who have lived it can understand. Through all his hell, he managed to let his soul sing out.
Thank you so much for sharing HIS music!
Awesome gem
Timeless….
i can not go on anymore. Its mainly about money. Wish i was a better man. I have irritable bowel syndrome. No one wants me for work. I was homeless for 2 years. I was pushed out of 14 different work places just due to my toilet times. I can not go on anymore. If im to live, its gonna be in agony, i just cant do this to my siblings. But me myself, i do not have any meaning left to stay.
things will get better mate
@@markshears140 chronic physical illness sadly does not work that way brother.
Try to go on and keep your chin up. Ask for help to your friends, keep on doing what you can. God Bless You.
@@fabioladelloro1416 i was blessed yesterday. I dropped out of my a levels 2 years ago because of this illness. I literally couldn't attend classes anymore. In the end I ended up homeless as mentioned, got into a homeless shelter and tried so hard finding work out of there. Nothing seemed to work no matter how hard I'd tried.
Now I've learned to manage this illness and yesterday got the yes to redo my 13 class a second time. Usually theres only one chance to redo it.
I'll be studying like a madman. I'm so happy that something turned out right finally.
I hope things get better for you. May the future be good for all of us.
43 year old man here. Love dylan, rolling stones, grateful dead and james tayor. This dude is incredible.
I like bis Music very much.
Really cool.

He kinda sounds like Skip Spence here
Is this album available to buy anywhere? I don't mean on Itunes but to actually buy the CD?
32 years after his 1965 album.
his only two albums...
se nota el declive de Jackson en su voz quebrada aunque la guitarra continua sonando clara ,es un resurgir melancólico del gran perdedor de la canción popular americana
Where is this available cd or vinyl ?
search for Jackson C. Frank The Complete Recordings (vol1, vol2, vol3) (3cds cointains his 67 songs)
I will always hate the world for putting this man in the dark while glorifying souless artists like Lady Gaga or Beyonce.
Beyonce is for a totally different audience. His music is great but perhaps it's not such a bad thing that most people don't get it, I think it helps to be a bit damaged yourself to feel it.
someone had to suffer, he did for the rest of us !
@@railwaystationmaster dis, u can hate it all u want, but tha soulful cannot xist witout tha soulless, jus as light cannot xist witout darkness & pleasure cant xist witout suffering. its a intractable & universal condition of xistence tbh
@@awnaur0no919 BOLLOCKS ! ,we are better than that you suggest and luck plays a huge role in a happy and fulfilled life !
Damn, straight to the heart of my broken soul. You said it there.
Whats the first song about?
What exactly is this? A bootleg? I can't find anything about this release.
Frank passed away in ’99, but a fan named Jim Abbot got him off the streets a few years beforehand and helped him record a few demos in 1997.
“The Complete Recordings Vol. 3 contains those final songs, labeled in the liner notes as “The Kitchen Tapes“.
thanks!@@hefic
@@heficthank you so much for this explanation all this time later. I’ve been a huge fan of Jackson frank and was not aware of these recordings either. If Jackson never achieved the fame he deserved in his life, it gladdens me to think he met someone in his lifetime that had a true appreciation for his music as well, enough to extend a lifeline to allow him to record again. Can’t imagine how many songs swam through his head during his isolated years, with no way to capture or record them… thanks again 🙏
What is the name of the song that starts at 15:05 ???
half the distance
I don't know about recording but I would like to see someone out there clean this recording to make it easier to listen.
Oh man, rawness make this sound special and magic!
the grittiness is what makes it great
