Is it Kawasaki that chooses the voice? I know the subway had Bloomberg Radio announcers because Bloomberg wanted them. (Incidentally these voices are on Kawasaki railcars, like the R142As.)
Nice video. Interestingly enough, the beginning station reminds me of 30th Street station on Philadelphia's commuter rail system. Philadelphia and NYC's commuter rails are interesting even though I've been on neither.
Hey Fan Railer, I was wondering If you ever filmed by 110th Street for the 2 and 3 trains, If Not, You should go to the far foward of the direction uptown, Gets you good footage, Do credit me for this.
No more RFW videos. Very sad. Hope we can save the ones we have. Built by a foreign company. Even more sad. As for the rest, it's a commuter car; nothing more and nothing less. Will it as reliable as, or more reliable than, the M3's being replaced is a story yet to be written.
I'm honestly not too impressed with the M9's. The only real differences is are they added some power outlets for passengers, changed the color of the seats to be lighter, and updated the voice announcements. Everything else is basically the same or very slightly different but not really noticeable.
Kawasaki loves those robotic voices

I believe so, because most of the new Kawasaki railcars I've seen have them. Don't stand by what I said, though.

The wife of the announcement on the M7 lol
Yes
I see they lowered the volume or
Mad the door closing sound less annoying
DUDE I WAS AT BABYLON YESTERDAY! I was up by the lead car. It's a shame we couldn't meet up :(
Did you get flipped off again?
I caught car 7777 on my FIRST EVER LIRR ride the other day!
Man i hope there weren't any slobs on this train, already seeing a bike at the beginning lol
I hate the new announcement voice
It doesn’t seem that different compared to a M7, besides the outlets
That's what it essentially is, an M7 with more bells and whistles
@@AweShiyte the shape and pretty much all of the electronics are different to
Love the video
Nice video!
What app do you use to see how fast it’s going?
that was FUN'''lets go back to Jamaica
Kawasaki Baby!!!
How do these accelerate compared to be m7s?
Having ridden both the M7 and M9, they seem to be almost identical with how quick they get up to speed

And I learned from an MNR Conductor that M3s have better AIR CONDITIONING than M7s and M9s.
I'm so happy
So how long until all of the M3s are gone?
Mistah Marvista one or two more years a conductor told me
I actually liked the announcements with the guys voice... much clearer
I’m going to miss the Budd M3
A few cars will be saved for the railroad museum I'm sure just don't know which ones. Hopefully 9945-9946 since those are part of LIRR history
same, they have better AC than M7s and M9s, also they are still on Metro-North.

I really don't like the automated announcement. The female sounds robotic. The door chimes sounds annoying. However, I do like the acceleration noise.
What time is this?
@M7 Express is it on the Babylon line today?
lirrfilmer_2004 uhh
