@elliottdean3452 theyre just incredibly powerful rp wise bc theyre typically guaranteed to be able to convince anyone of anything. For example, starting at level 3, they cannot roll below a 10 on persuasion/deception checks.

As a dm I love them but I'm also very aware that the way I run my games is Bitsy levels of insane.
(By that I mean it is almost fully an improv performance up to and including the locations, people and plot. Anything goes and I will design OP items for players if they ask for it.)

@@aconitinia I mean, the solution for that is to, as a DM, remember that high roll on a social check doesn't automatically mean that the player gets what they want, it means that the character has an interaction with the person they're talking to that ends in a way that's beneficial to them. And when they're doing or saying something utterly ridiculous, an NPC not telling them immediately to f- off and never come back is a beneficial reaction to their nonsense.
