    In our journey through life. We'll have many friends. But in reality we'll only have 1 or 2 that are real. The one's that make a positive impact in your life. We usually realize that when they are gone.

      @@RgTripleC I learned a few months ago that Jesse Ed Davis was John Lennon's all-time favorite guitarist. I don't think anyone can get a bigger endorsement than that! Lennon saw Davis when he played with Taj Mahal in "The Rolling Stones" Rock and Roll Circus in 1969, and the two really hit it off.

      the rock n roll of the 60's - 70's was a social movement and just incredible music that grew up in a grass roots kind of way, so incredibly much talent singing about peace, love, social change - some say "Baby Boomers" messed up the world, probably - but we also had a vision of what needed to change, and thankfully the music was not about ugly hatred and violence...

    Those woman's voices floor me every time. Has a unique femininity pulsing their vibrato in and out of sync but in perfect harmony makes a single hypnotic vocal. Eric's couldn't be more vulnerable and those buttery bends smoother than a lap steel. This and promises are sonic alchemy.

    Lyrics:
    As I am strolling down the garden path,
    I saw a flower glowing in the dark.
    It looked so pretty and it was unique;
    I had to bend down just to have a peek.
    Hello old friend,
    It's really good to see you once again.
    Hello old friend,
    It's really good to see you once again.
    I saw you walking underneath the stars;
    I couldn't stop 'cause I was in a car.
    I'm sure the distance wouldn't be too far
    If I got out and walked to where you are.
    Hello old friend,
    It's really good to see you once again.
    Hello old friend,
    It's really good to see you once again.
    An old man passed me on the street today;
    I thought I knew him but I couldn't say.
    I stopped to think if I could place his frame.
    When he tipped his hat I knew his name.
    Hello old friend,
    It's really good to see you once again.

    It is Thanksgiving day. I played this song several times in a row to get me in a good mood. Everyone in my family has passed away except my sister and holidays aren't the same anymore. They've taken on a somber feeling, devoid of anything except an emptiness similar to the feeling I had when I lived in Alaska and my snow machine broke down on me 50 miles away from my cabin......
