I've been braiding my two daughter's hair with yarn for probably 10 years. It doesn't irritate the skin and they can easily have any color they want! You look amazing with what you did. 😊
I’m Muslim so I use the wool instead of braiding hair for religious reasons, I seal the ends by using a flat iron to straighten them and it seals them great for the whole months and a half that I keep my braids in! Although I’ve only ever had small knotless braids so I don’t know if it would work for twists or bigger braids
@@miawashere9718 yes because it is deceiving people about your real hair, even when using yarn it has to be a different color from your real hair, and not black, so that it’s obviously not your hair. There is also a Hadith where the prophet sws curses the woman who gets fake hair, and the person who installs it. You may have to look it up if you are interested Insha Allaah 💗
Yeah using other peoples hair for adornment is not permissible. It is quite strange when you think about it, like youre using another human beings body part lol
@@BeautyforAshes__ cool! That would be okay then, but might not work for some people for various reasons. Thankfully lots of options in this day and age
@@raw-soulif you’re having trouble maintaining hair moisture while in braids, try moisturizing the hair with a water based leave in and then seal the hair with pure shea butter. My hair can be in braids for weeks this way and they come out very moisturized when the braids come out.
While wool itself won't directly "pull out" your hair, the friction from wool fibers can contribute to hair breakage, especially when worn against the scalp for extended periods, which can cause hair loss over time, particularly along the hairline. I was taught when you wear any sweater or coat that contains any type of wool material, wear a silk scarf to protect your hair on your neckline. If you wear a wool hat, always wear a protective covering underneath!
Heyyy! I use wool to do my braids sometimes, and my hairdresser/aunt puts the ends in hot water, or lights a candle, burns them, and then dips them in cold water! ❤
I want to try them. Bought the yarn and never put them in my hair😂😂 I ended up mailing it to my mom for knitting. The reason I bought is because the regular braiding hair takes my hair out, and I thought maybe the yarn would be more delicate on my hair as far as not taking it out. Haven tried it yet, though..
I’ve had it for months and still haven’t installed it either. It’s because the preparation takes long. I spend a day sectioning my hair and the other day cutting the pieces. I still prefer yarn because it’s affordable and doesn’t dry out my hair.
This girls eyes are so beautiful...the down turned corners...gives her a very angelic, sweet stare...kinda like the precious moments dolls. Such a unique, beautiful young lady❤
I twist mine all the way to the end and go completely boho. Just buy shorter length next time and twist them to the very end, it looks so beautiful and I good complimented on it all the time! By the way, you still did a BEAUTIFUL job!
Try dipping the ends in hot water to see what happens since it is a wool yarn it might do what braiding hair does. Or braid it all the way down after your twist
You can tie the ends with the Woll and burn it with a lighter or candle, dip your fingers in water and mold the ends together. You wouldn’t need any rubber bands after.
I literally just got my bundles yesterday... look at God!! I didn't know how i was going to style my hair and look what just showed up in my algorithms 🙌🏽🙌🏽
in nigeria youburn the ends with a lighter though i would not recommend because you might burn yourself if you dont know to to it correctly. love the look ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
I’ve done my own yarn braids for years. I use regular yarn from Walmart without separating the strands or anything, and the result looks like long locs. I’ve gotten a lot of compliments on them. 😊
I used to do yarn braids all the time about 7 years ago until I started working long hours and was too tired to do them. I will definitely do them again, maybe next year. It looks great by the way, very beautiful. ❤.

Do you have to moisturize their hair more often when you put the yarn in? Does the yarn dry the hair out a lot?
Looks great
Wool isn't healthy for hair. It will dry it out and break off
What is it made of because I do believe the synthetic Plastic hair that we usually use is toxic
@@Mehj-r9e It's yarn so it can be made of several different things depending on type. Wool, acrylic, etc.

will it curl?
@TherealDestinyy yes
I heard you need to moisturize your hair very well beforehand, or the yarn or wool will dry your hair out bad. Let me know.
All braids. That’s y I stopped braiding my daughter’s hair.
I was thinking that too

Wow!
Might be really good for faux locs! I think it looks really natural.
You can thank Erica Alexander for the yarn braids! Iconic!!!

it looks so pretty and soft
This was a style from the early 2000s. ❤
Didn't Max on Living Single had them?
@@YumME72 Yes, they call them Nray Loc or Yarn Twist.
yarn braids and twists have existed in my country long before 2000s
I'm going to try this next. I love how you don't have those annoying fly aways!!

All the time with our natural hair it's just perfect and very light❤❤
Very nice... I would definitely use the yarn and dip the ends in hot water!
Nope. It will unravel. You would want to try burning the ends to seal it
@@Worla.is.capable how bad would it smell though.

Girlllll we been doing yarn braids since HS 🎉 it’s the go to when you didn’t have that braiding hair $ and it always turn out cuteeeeeeee

Brazilian wool yarn is the name. It says 100% acrylic on the package
Wool is hydrophobic ma’am. 😮

Don’t use plain yarn as it will tear your hair out. This looks like a good option.❤
Yarn has never tore up my hair, has that been your experience? I’ve been using yarn for over 10 years.
The results are amazing !!
Great job ❤.
Omg it looks great
You can either burn the Ed’s or curl them! ❤

Really cute style. 😊
Awesome job😊
Yessss I use to do yarn braid back in 2011
Gorlll I loved doing yarn in my hair 😭
For the ends u could HV curled them or put beads
I used one of those tools u use to install keratin hair extensions. I used it on regular braiding hair as well.

Might suck the moisture out of the hair, so just be sure to apply oil or squeeze leave in conditioner on them a few times a week
Turned out beautifully!
I was gonna try this and forgot it existed. Now that I remember I’m definitely going to try it. I know it’s cheap and looks so lightweight.

As a loc’d girlie I use them a lot
Yes if there's a way to make the ends look better
I used yarn braids for my daughter dipped yarn in vitamin E. My daughter hair growth was crazy ❤ good and no breakage
U have to burn the ends and pat them with two fingers drenched in water
Kinda roll them
Stops them from untwisting
Not with this type of hair extension.
