Good takes. And yes UVA is very mid tier. You can also add UNC to that list of mid tier, and dont @me about basketball. If basketball mattered in realignment, UCONN would be in a P2 conference.

UCONN is not an equivalent of UNC or UVA. UNC is:
      a) 1 of only 2 remaining true southern flagships outside of the SEC.
      b) 1 of only 6 P4 original public ivys.
      c) 1 of only ~5 men's basketball blues
      d) 1 of only 6 that have finished 20x+ Top 10 D-Cup
      e) 1 of only 3 that have won the D-Cup
      f) Half of the only college basketball rivalry of national interest
UVA is a mini version of UNC.

I think the best interest for the SEC Big ten and the networks is for a strong Big 12 and the reason why the Big 12 is because they already have a contract deal for a long time. If too many good football teams get left out of the SEC Big ten and Big 12 Congress will probably get involved and we don't want them involved it's hard to tell what they will do. So it probably would be best to talk FSU and Clemson to go to the big 12 which probably won't happen. Then they need to make sure every team with a national championship is in one of the big three and that's including Georgia tech because they have four national championships and then take the other schools that have been relevant in the past or in current time and make sure everyone gets a home and then we're down to the big three only. Big 12 just needs a couple top dogs like they had with Texas and Oklahoma to compete with the SEC and Big ten. SEC and Big ten really only have five to six good teams and then it falls off badly. I know probably the top eight teams in the Big 12 could beat the bottom half of the SEC and Big ten schools easily. Does anyone really think Vanderbilt or Rutgers University is beating TCU or WVU?😂🤣

If you get time let's do a early early prediction of who wins what conference maybe pick the five top teams of each conference SEC Big ten Big 12 and ACC??? Really interested to see your take on the SEC with Oklahoma and Texas now there. Are they both in the top five?? I don't think Alabama will be in the top five in the SEC anymore after losing Nick Saban that means Georgia will probably go undefeated for the next two or three years because there is no Alabama built to beat them in the country. When the dust settles on THIS PHASE of conference consolidation we'll be left with 4 tables:
    The 2 Powers: SEC & B1G
Big 12 (aka the new Cinderella league)
    and
The Leftovers WITH Deep Pockets and/or Strong Branding
The ACC or Pac will exist in name only depending on what the leftovers decide to do for branding.
The ACC school with the least leverage right now is Wake Forest. Nobody is going to call them willingly. A perfect candidate to help build The Leftovers Conference.

But joining the Big 12 is NOT ACCEPTABLE to any of the TOP 8 ACC schools. There is NO 3rd Option for ACC teams to LEAVE the ACC for.
It is a $20 Million PAY CUT to LEAVE the ACC and join the Big 12 and it is about to be a $30 Million PAY CUT.

The colleges and Universities are supposed to be non-profits, and some still are no matter how many millions they collect at the gates. All these sport teams were started by students originally, fraternities, clubs and guilds, nothing more, The universities kicked in funding at the request of these student clubs and supporting donors...but no good deed goes unpunished. These teams should have been separated from the universities as for-profit spinoffs long long ago, after they started taking on a life of their own. Instead, they were turned into profit centers by mission creep and greed. The very Ivy league that incubated it, tried to kill footfall off very early on in the 20th century. They even petitioned the highest levels of federal government to step in a kill off the baby. That failure has now morphed into the nightmare of today, where all sorts of unscrupulous speculators, even pedophiles, parasites have latched onto the host. This nightmare, where some schools are uninterested in sports profit, fund nearly the entire operations out of pocket and make zero return except for facilities improvements( 10s of millions just to appease the student's accustomed expectations) .While most public universities, sucking on the teat of sport profit like their very existence depends on it, meet in some smoky 5 star Vegas casino, sitting around in Brooks Brother suits, brainstorming how best to carve up what's left of these taxpayer funded monstrosities, while kvetching about how broke they are with the new added expenses. In the backdrop of all this, we have an insanely corrupt federal government who are all on board to get these non scholar athletes payed as quickly as possible so they can tax them as quickly as possible...and around, and around, she goes, right down the toilet bowl, along with the nation gifted to us by those that came before.
The student athlete pretends as if they're some type of slave, Nothing could be further from the truth, reality will smash down the whole stinking mess one day.
