This new Rangie is a dime a dozen in upscale L.A. neighborhoods. What’s interesting are the TRADED IN Range Rovers at my local Genesis dealer. ……Now the GV80 is becoming the common sight.
I’ve been watching motor week since I was a kid and looked forward to it every week on our local PBS station if I remember correctly. Probably can remember watching the first episode around 1983. Loved John Davis reviews back than and still love to hear that familiar voice.
I prefer the previous generation, especially the dash and rear fascia. The designers took what was a beautiful face and put a nylon stocking over it, eliminating the details.
I went for an interview at a Range Rover dealership and the amount of evoques needing new engines was insane. They had 12 cars still under warranty needing mostly engines a few with transmission replacement and 1 that needed the 4wd completely replaced. Couldn’t pay me enough to deal with that. Let alone the costumers walking through that door.
Lifestyles of the Rich & Famous vehicle where money & prestige is everything. Heck, if I was one of 'them' I'd test drive one. In the meantime I'll just putt along in my CX-30.
Everyone should drive a Range Rover realibity is 0 but when u drive them u feel REGAL- and your mechanic will treat u as so lol - I see the appeal and even though their not reliable they sure hold value -
5.0 guaranteed to set aside several thousands for maintenance. Will be replacing timing components, all plastic cooling hoses, and pray the cylinder walls don't warp and the buckets don't give way and the rod bearings all before 40k miles. Beautiful vehicles but absolute junk. Good luck getting parts also.
Prices START at $105k. Unreal. This thing ain't even worth half of the asking price. An inline 6 for a base motor? Big yikes. I'm not seeing anything worth the asking price that you can't get in a Jeep or even a Bronco. In this case, you're just paying for the name. And with range rovers reputation, you'll be paying for that name over and over and over again until you trade it in. If I had that kind of money to drop, it surely wouldn't be on one of these.
Just say you’ve never driven or sat in a Range Rover and go! Especially if you’re comparing it to a wrangler rip off… The build quality blows that thing out of the water, though even a Camrys build quality blows it out of the water.
@@foxtrot685 A wet paper bag with wheels on it would be better quality than a range rover. I put skid plates under a few of em, did some 4x4ing in the woods with some, and I drove a newer one just 2 years ago. Every one of them felt like a cheap ford fiesta with 4x4 capabilities. Heavy, underpowered, and cumbersome to drive, and the ones we took off road didn't last but a few thousand miles before kicking the bucket. They're junk. Have been for decades. But it doesn't stop rich idiots from wasting their money on something with the resale value less than that of the Toyota Camry you brought up. There is NOTHING in a range rover that you can't get anywhere else for less money, and those vehicles usually have better quality with a longer life span.
I understand the point you are trying to make here, and it's true this thing is overpriced, but have you even popped the hood of a bronco? it's a total mess. jeeps out-dated chrysler-based engine lineup isn't any better.
@@jordanimatedstreaming I've transported a few of them. I actually plan to buy a bronco in the future. It's a great truck. Far more capable and affordable than this thing is off road. And I can take the doors off of it, AND transport them in the back without having to make a trip home.
The key word there is "if". Seeing as you don't have that kind of money, why don't you go back to the budget car video section and leave the Range Rover videos to the wealthy people that can actually afford to buy one.
A lot of motorcars launched and discontinued but John Davis is still here.
*Amazing that a range rover running a 14.6 is considered "leisurely"*
I love the long term reliability of Land Rovers said no one.
May a comprehensive extended service warranty forever be in your favor!!!
LOL... As if you could afford one anyway. Sour grapes. 😂
I loved my Rover in spite of its occasional faults it almost always started right up and ride qualiry was amazing
Wow it’s amazing how it didn’t break down during the video .. impressive ❤️
LMFAO, Right! A beautiful vehicle nonetheless.
😂😂😂😂
They cut that scene out and drove the backup
@@reyjustimbaste1058 Why buy one, when you can have two at twice the price? :D
Lol

The designers made the interior so luxurious because they knew the owners would be spending a lot of time in them waiting for the tow truck....
good to see after 40 years john davis is still at it!, he started with motorweek in 1981 love these videos new and old

Eye sore on those roughed up hands touching the dash.
Love ya Motor week .. HAVE A BEAUTIFUL DAY EVERYONE ✌️
The Rose Royce of SUVs.
Luxurious, perhaps. Constantly at the dealership, definitely.
Does the 200 grand version include a re-animated Jim Fowler?
Just shy of $200k for a top level huh? That’s eye watering especially for a brand that still has serious issues with features functioning properly
Honest question are we taking this in base trim or the Raptor R? Same money 🤷♂️
We have already ordered our 2023!! YAY!!! This is "The FIRST Range Rover that I fell in LOVE with!!!"

Was it the four banger?
Best looking car on the road
I’m getting a black P530 SE !
A lot of broke talk in here.
Per usual when it comes to landrover videos. It’s a joke at this point!
Tattoos look horrible and low class. He has them all over his hands. Dirty!
Times are a changing my friend.
It's a minivan for rich moms.
that stuck on tablet just looks sooo cheap
Check the Engine on the Dashboard..
A timeless design!
Motor week never bothered to mention, it has a new aluminum unibody design
3:10 a Subaru SEDAN could traverse that trail...
If the sensors were to be blocked by mud during wading, the car is dead isn't it?
Im glad he either turned down his voice level or they autotuned down his voice.
I bet the Range Rover Series V (or even its EV counterpart) may be good enough for even the many enemies of James Bond.
Script Writer has some very strange ideas about who actually buys these things.

I'd rather an. Escalade !
90% depreciation in 3 years.

Dude in this video with the nasty TATTOO on his hand looses all credibility!
Unfortunately, so do you by writing “looses” instead of “loses.”

That 5.0 is gone. 4.4V8 is from bmw now. Not much better lol

I've never seen a vehicle that I really really wanna own and really really don't wanna own at the same time. 🥲
