If you don't let your hand when shifting off the paddles, they are not that loud honestly, but if you just quick tap it , it's going to be loud AF. Needs to get used to it and find the good spot and it's going to be alright. Just use it like a trigger on a controller, fingers always on it , and just tap and use your fingers to absorb and not letting it hit the back of the wheel.
@@aymidin Thanks for the tip. I was kind of "worried" about this reading this EVERYWHERE. Like every review as well. - I was just thinking "How frickin' loud are they for people to mention it every time??". - But if you put it that way, I guess people actually "flicked" them for it to be loud. - I don't think I would do that anyway and rather squeeze gently anyway. Well, I mean, depends how much I need to rotate the wheel if I can keep my fingers there, but yea... - Also, if it's the "blowback" that actually creates the sound, perhaps some material could be improvised to cushion that, like a thin piece of foam or something. - But if it's like a mechanical click that happens on the actual input or something, then it is what it is I suppose. - I've just ordered it for a very good price anyway, so I'll take it, and I'm coming from using a gamepad anyway, so I'll be happy to play around with this. Especially since the last time I used a wheel was... a lifetime ago... more than a full adult, let's say.
I've just ordered this as my first wheel in about a quarter of a century. The last wheel I had was by Trust and it only had vibration, a clicky "up and down" gear-shifter on the side, 12 buttons with only 4 real individual assignments (that was just deceitful, but not that I purchased it based on that or anything), and yea, the pedals were very basic "push-down" with floaty springs. - I mean, it was fine as a young teenager for the games back then, and I'm talking about games like TOCA Touring Cars 2 (old series by Codemasters that basically became part of the GRID-games in a way) which really wouldn't benefit from a lot of controller-refinement. - But I've been holding off on getting a wheel and pedal set as an adult (cause money and priorities) and have been interested in properly playing some racers for years. But now that I found this set at a discount, I just went for it and will be trying it tomorrow. I'm excited to finally race with a wheel and pedals again! Cause while a gamepad, with the help of some assists, works alright, it just doesn't cut it. - Yea, for stuff like "Need For Speed" or "Forza", sure... Perhaps even "GRID", which is right on the edge in terms of control with a gamepad. - But then moving to stuff like "Dirt Rally" or "Project Cars" or even "Assetto"... Yea, not really gonna happen. It can be done, but keeping control over cars with sticks and triggers becomes very straining because it's all so sensitive, even with tweaks and assists. The chance of making mistakes is just way too high and it sucks the fun out of it. - Anyway, it doesn't make a lot of sense for those games and I'm so done with it. - So I can't wait!
bought this waiting for delivery im coming from t150 pro cuz mine t150 pro is old dusty scratched, broken clamp, cant even take it off the table anymore without ruining the wheel. will update, i have feeling i will sell it after trying and go for maybe t300 or ts xw
Why is the wheel only for preorder in the UK? Will this change once the wheel is released in March? Was really excited to preorder today but I can't! 😢😭😿
With the knowledge that this is an older comment: It probably depends on the game. - Unless you've tried something like Forza, which SHOULD work. - But they definitely mention that it's up to game-support in terms of what it displays, while I believe there also are "generic" displays for when there's no particular support. - So if it doesn't do anything at all, that seems "broken". Either the display is, or it's a software-bug. - But I don't know enough in practice, cause I've yet to receive mine. And I'd be using it on PC.
You should do a wheel like this for xbox but more premium. Microsoft buttons on wheels suck and this is the first one that its worth it. I have it for PS an xbox. PPlus 2 t128 too. In addition i have tgt2 but i returned my ts xw because it was a pain in the ass to set up the wheel buttons. Sparco is an amazing wheel but you have 3 buttons A, two buttons X,Y… a lot of repeated buttons that you dont have in PS. But the distribution in this WHeel, T248, solves a lot of that microsoft problems. Tgt 2 is amazing by the way
Had it a while, the hard plastic is very uncomfortable, padding in wrong place for comfort. That aside, great realism when setup right. (Xbox) ffb on wheel must be max,.with ffb profile 2 - then turn down force in game - it is the only way you get full speed return from the wheel when needed. Ffb1, and any lower setting will not only reduce force, it will also slow down the motors. Ffb3 adds extra delay to the input (kerbs etc.)
Man, that's a whole other class of products. - This one is about perfect for people like me, who just want something good for not too much money. - I almost went with the TMX-set for like 100 Euros less than this one, but I kept reading how the pedals (the one with 2) are just mediocre, while the TMX-wheel itself is good enough. (There was the Pro-variant with the 3-pedal one, but it seems discontinued for some reason, perhaps in favor of this one, though). - So I had to just bite the bullet and pay a bit more for a step up. My only "criticism" is that I find this one to be one of the "uglier" designs I've seen, and I prefer the sleeker or minimalist designs a lot more. This one kinda looks like a regular modern car's wheel, you know, with the silver T-shaped trim and all the edgy buttons. - But... function over form, because I have no other choice in this case. It's already kinda growing on me, and I should watch the road anyway, right.
How come they specifically mention "Drift Racing Online" as an example? - What is it that doesn't work?... And is there perhaps a setting that should allow for it that you missed?...
the only thing is bad about the wheel are the paddles there really loud but the whole design is really cool I would give this a 9/10
+1

I bought this wheel and I used it for maybe 5 hours at max and it just broke. Where can I get a refund or a replacement
Before you buy the display currently doesn’t work on Xbox

Can I remove the wheel from the base and play with another Thrustmaster wheel like the other models???
Nope
Maaaannn! I would love to grab this to feature for my community! So sleek and beautiful! Nice work, team!
Happy with my TS-XW but this looks good!

Can’t get into advanced controls on fh5 series x it’s just bringing up controller settings
Does it appear in your devices I can’t get it to register it as a controller
All is great part from The stearing wheel it to slow response to correct and would be better if the steering motor was stronger .
Can you also use this on a ps4?
Yh there is a PS4 and pc version
WOW
Which base is better, this or TS-XW?
Of course TS-XW is better
😍😍😍
