I recently bought a PS version G923 for ACC, AC, and F1 on PC. It looks, feel, and works great aside from the bugs in F1 2021, I'm over the moon with it. Highly recommend to anyone looking to get their first wheel. Anything lower end than this is just a waste of money and you'll want to upgrade immediately anyway. EDIT: F1 bugs are fixed, wheel now works perfectly across the games I play Edit: I gave it to a friend and went to a DD system from Moza. I suggest you skip Logitech these days
@@liamcdm3689 I believe my issues are specific to the G923, but first the wheel wasn't recognized at all unless I used a specific older version of G Hub, but then with the latest F1 patch, my wheel has no force feedback at all in game no matter what version of G Hub I use. Really frustrating
@@liamcdm3689 Maybe google a bit. Sim gear can have quirks. Sometimes it's not even related to the sim hardware or drivers but some other issue with your specific PC hardware or current win install. Console it should work fine out of the box. I had some issues with my TH8A shifter at some point (driver issue). A CSW 2.5 base freaked out within seconds of being on track and full FFB janked to one side (after some trying, turned out I had a lot of usb devices connected and had to stick it in a different port) Currently new CSL DD won't recognize the H-pattern mode on my SQ 1.5 shifter. More ppl seem to have this issue, haven't tried the hacky solution yet. Hope Fanatec will fix this soon. On 1st fresh driver install of CSL DD the FFB was very weak. Now after another re-install it's all fine. CSL DD is new so have to use a CSW 2.5 compatibility mode in a lot of games (early adopter things)
I recently got the G923 as my entry wheel into the sim world. Currently paired with the shifter that i adapted my shift knob from my old STi. I was skeptical at first and planned on getting the t300 but overall would have been twice the cost for the shifter and pedal upgrade. Not to mention where I live they're currently out of stock online as well. Pretty happy and maybe after my best buy warranty expires on the G923 I'll have enough to jump to the Fanatec or even a thrustmaster
@@takomusic1 100%, only standard pedals for the T300(RS) are even worse than the Logitech ones. I swapped my T3PA's (which were already an upgrade over the default for the standard T300) at the earliest opportunity. The TM H shifter is a little expensive though, but very decent. (and for the latest model the swapping between H and sequential is a pain) The Logitech one is usable.
I have Logitech g25 from many years ago. Its almost the same internals as the new one besides the new rumble motor and some buttons and its working fine today. I the g25 came out in like 2006 so its really durable.
In my personal opinion. I think the Logitech table clamps are better over time because the handle on the table clamp always breaks and you have to use a set of pliers to tighten or loosen it. I’ve had two thrustmaster wheels already both of the table clamps broke
Great vid. For myself personally I'm a driving sim guy first, maybe I'll get into racing sims in the future. I'd choose the Thrustmaster T248 simply for the amount of buttons it has (plus I love the look of it). All of those buttons on the wheel means i dont have to reach over to my keyboard for half my bindings. Great for truck driving sims! I picked up a T150 locally about a week back and I love it, if I can sell it back for the price I paid I'll definitely swoop up a T248
I have had my T150 now for five years. Put a-lot of driving hours on it and it’s still performing perfect. Like you said if I could sell it for what I paid for it and put that into the new Thrustmaster I would.
@@gurkenmarmelade3137if youre buying a wheel for drifting I recommend going for the logitech.I have both and Id say the logitech is better for drifting/crusing but the t248 is better for gt racing
I’ve got the g920 and it is LOUD at full force feedback, if you’ve got any people near you or you want to play later at night you have to turn it down a lot otherwise nobody is going to sleep. Lastly the force feedback on it is very low, it really is not difficult to move even on the highest settings. It’s a great wheel and I have a blast using it but these are things to know before you buy
For reference I have a steelseries Arctis 7 headset and I can hear my steering wheel over my game sound even when the headset is turned up way too loud, these headphones are noise cancelling too (I think) and I still find it annoying hearing a constant clicking and clacking from the wheelbase
Hey, just started watching a lot of reviews of wheels and pedals, and felt over your videos. You deserve way better than this. Good luck with future man loves your vids
Great video, thanks for all the info. Planning to get my first wheel, to get ready for the Gran turismo launch. I too would like some comparision video of the T248 VS T300RS. Still cant decide between these two. What puts me bitt off the T300Rs that it is old, but looks better than T248, and i believe that it is bit better in specs as well.
What wheel did you end up getting? And how does it feel? I’m currently playing the game and I’m loving it with the controller but I can’t get the itch of buying a wheel away
I’ve had them all and can say the Thrustmaster’s motor is stronger and smoother than the Logitech’s offering. Also the Logitech uses a gear drive which feels clunky whereas the Thrustmatser uses a belt driven which feels more realistic.
The T300RS comes with absolutely DOGSHIT pedals. If you go that route you really need to get the ≈$450 T300RS GT, which gets expensive enough that you should really just get Fanatec's full blown ≈5nm direct drive $400 (≈$510 w/ tax + shipping or ≈$540 w/ a desk mount) "CSL DD Ready2Race bundle" anyways. 🤷 ESPECIALLY as the CSL DD can be upgraded to ≈8nm with just a ≈$60/$100-150 (3rd party/1st party) power supply upgrade! The ≈4-4.5nm belt-drive T300 simply doesn't even come FUCKING CLOSE to even the ≈5nm base spec CSL DD, let ALONE the full out ≈8nm one!
Can you please do a comparison between the T248 and the T300RS? I have had a lot of trouble finding the T300RS in the US lately and am wondering if "settling" for the T248 is fine. I am completely unable to find any comparisons to the T300RS. The main thing that is putting me off the T348 is the really loud paddles. Also, can you see if it is possible to quiet down the clicking sounds of the paddles?
The only thing the T300 has going for it over the T248 is a bit stronger motor as well as being fully belt-driven instead of the hybrid approach in T248; HOWEVER, from a reliability standpoint, I would go with the latter wheel as the T300 may require you to completely throw out the built-in power supply as in the stock wheels they are prone to overheating & just dying. The other point against the T300 is that it's older than the T248, which means that it may not be supported in newer titles
@@Sithhy Maybe I have been lucky but my T300 RS GT has not let me down (hopefully not speaking too soon and knock on wood)..The T300RS was an upgrade from the G29 and even though I loved my G29 which is about as good a started wheel as you can get, the T300 is just better all around and I matched them with the TLCM pedal...more than enough for me now..
@@user-wq9mw2xz3j ffb à peine plus fort ... Le T248 a plus de finesse à la conduite . Plusieurs ont laisser le T300 pour le T248 et sont content du changement 😉
One very big negative factor in logitech's wheels that no one ever mentions in reviews, is the drivers. G hub. Over a long period of time it WILL drive you crazy about one thing or another. First we had LGS that somewhat worked (some times), and then we got G hub, that worked even worse. We also get updates maybe about once a month, and you never see anything good about the updates, but they do break something 50% of the times and you have to spend a long time trying to find a fix for the problem that LOGITECH DOES NOT PROVIDE. The users needs to figure that out by themselves. Problems such as "games do not recognize the wheel, the wheel starts to calibrate itself on random occasions while playing games, the wheel doesn't center properly after calibrating, the force feedback goes to reverse (the wheel is loose when turning in and stiff when straightening the car), the game loses the wheel completely during gameplay (the wheel stays powered up and stiff, but nothing happens in-game when you turn), you can't change the wheel's steering range, and the list goes on and on. Sometimes the wheel works like a charm for several months, and suddenly (usually after a patch) you're gonna lose your shit trying to fix a problem that wasn't there before. When it works, it's definitely good enough as a starting kit for people who wants to start racing online or offline. I got the wheel to work in other games, but in F1 2020 the FFB was stuck in reverse and couldn't find a fix to it, and I gotta say I couldn't be arsed to play it for long because it's not very fun playing the game like that. and there are TONS of people reporting the same problems. G27, G29, G923 are all the same wheel, using the same exact technology with the same drivers. It's just an updated name for an old wheel because it wouldn't sell very well saying "this is a 15 years old wheel but still really good". But like I said, when it works, it works fine. But if I got to go back, I would've bought thrustmaster T300 and a separate set of pedals. More expensive but it uses a belt instead of gears so it's more silent and smooth, and you don't have to lose your shit with drivers that don't work.
ahah yeah its annoying sometimes. i have a logitech mouse. the app many times doesnt wanna launch especially if computer goes to sleep. but its gotten better
@@LucasCamargo827 I wouldn't be too sure about the argument "most people", but I do know some people do play racing games on consoles. I personally don't like playing games on low performance consoles that don't provide over 60hz nor a solid 200fps with great graphics. Not to mention I've been driving iRacing for over 3 years and I've never seen a hacker. Not sure it's possible in a simulator. I don't play FPS games with my wheel and pedals so I don't have to think about it. You can find hackers in simcade games like F1 titles but those do not concern me so I have no problem with them.
@@HOusu88 nobody was talking to you my dude and you still wrote a 5 page essay. no reason to flex your pc, console sims are great too, 60hz is okay for racing, and this is coming from someone with a 240hz monitor.
(5:03 , for context) The differences between the pedal sensors that these two wheels offer cannot be understated! Using Logitech pedals for any extended period of time (~600-1000 hrs in my personal experience) makes them potentially prone to signal failure, and they fail in the most annoying way possible, your throttle inputs will become jittery, and as time goes on, you'll be rendered incapable of going full throttle and/or 0% throttle. It happened to me, then I asked fellow simmers whether it's happened to them too, and for most, it has, and I never knew it was a thing before this. I still love my G29 (wheelbase) to death, it's been really dependable and I'm content with it, especially after upgrading to Fanatec pedals.
for brake: load cell > hall sensor > potentiometer for other: hall sensor > potentiometer A thing with potentiometers is that sometimes they're very sensitive in the 0% deadzone with some dust in your pedal body. I solved that on my CSL Elite pedals wy blowing it out. Had to do it twice a year so far.
My pedals are laying against the wall the cable on the g923 is geding crush between the wall and the paddels. After a while the cable will stop working. The thrustmaster t248 cable can be placed to the right and the left side much better.
I got the G29 a little over a year ago. Mostly happy with it my only genuine complaint is the brake pedal. There's a hard rubber stop about halfway through the pedal travel, which means that under heavy braking, your input is not really accurate. I've been considering swapping the clutch spring over into the brake pedal since I don't play any games that really use clutch.
Get the truebrake mod its well worth it! The also have potentiometer replacements for the clutch and gas pedals for when your throttle starts going eratic
Got the T248 arriving tomorrow thanks to your channel! My Driving Force GT has finally kicked the bucket from 2007, plus some of the gearing teeth broke inside at some point :/ But hey ho! Here's to a quieter trucking and racing experience! Cheers boyo!
Hi I’m in the same boat getting a new wheel after my Driving Force GT stopped being compatible. Was wondering if you were happy with the T248? I was thinking just getting Logitech again..
@@Zet38 hey there, it's proper good. I like it alot actually, better than my old Driving Force GT and surpassed my G27 with the shifter. (Got the TH8A Shifter arriving soon)
I've used a g29 for almost 2 years, the first unit developed a problem in the gas pedal potentiometer(1 year 10 months used), the second one gave the same problem in the first week of use, i just gave back the third unit cause the wheel was woobly and ffb stopped working at 2 hours of use. Unpopular opinion: don't go for logitech, they selling the same for years, the g923 is just a "trueforce" sticker. They may had fix main issues for the 923 but they didn't for the latest g29's units. They have decided to keep selling bad g29 units and that is, imo, some kind of mean.
and a g29 is just a g27 with differently placed buttons, and g27 is just g25 with more buttons... They've been selling the same wheel for 16 years, probably gonna be 20..
I have a g27 thats over 10 years old and its fine. The wheel is an absolute unite of durability as have many many others have experienced. Sounds like you've been pretty unlucky.
The potentiometers of the pedals can be cleaned bud. It's because they get dirty, I had also returned my first g29 because I didn't know that but on this one I cleaned them like 3 times on 2 or 3 years and still going strong
definitely the video i needed. Since its black friday ive been looking at these 2 steering wheels and im working with a budget, so now i know i should take the T248!
I just got the t248 and i couldnt be happier. So smooth compared to my TMX. Feels so fucking good. And the pedals were a massive upgrade too. It blew away my expectations so much that i had to come back and comment on this since i used it to pick a wheel.
I have had both for x box and if you are on console , i would definitely go for the T248. Only time you need a pc is to update firmware . After that , you can do all your customisation on the wheel itself . Logiteh is more pc based for that. T248 is much smoother, much better ffb and much better pedals . Honest opinion 😊
No wheel swapping... such a shame. I loved my T300RS (before moving on to a CSW 2.5 and now a CSL DD), had a standard wheel I stitched suede around myself (and some carbon fiber vinyl wrapping) and a Ferrari GT wheel with the rim swapped for an Acelith BMW DTM/GT3 style rim mod. The default tuned down look was also way better than these imo. I don't like these design, neither the GT DD PRO pack, with their more street 'supercars' look. They also look more like a toy. even with the major price difference a comparison with these sets and the GT FF Pro would also be nice ;)
I’d love to see how long the T248 lasts without issues. My G27 has lasted since launch year, and is going strong to this day. My T300 has had multiple problems in the 4 years I had it until the position sensor failed and the wheel broke it self slamming into it’s end stop during a calibration. Due to other expensive hobbies, these are the two I’m cross-shopping. Being able to use some parts from my G27 as spares is a big plus side to me
I used to have a Logitech G29 racing wheel for American Truck Simulator but the wheel kept disconnecting while driving in the game (had the G29 wheel when American Truck Simulator first came out), so I picked up the T248 wheel and haven’t had any problems with it (no disconnects or anything). There’s greater control with the T248 compared to the Logitech G29, smooth handling and everything…….plus I like the digital display and how it shows my speed limit, don’t have to keep using the dashboard travel/map gps to watch my speed to set my cruise control etc…😎✌🏾
Thanks for this review man 😊 I was thinking about going with the t128 but then I realized it was so small so then it was t248 or G29 and I couldn’t decide but you helped me so thanks

Great vid and great editing. About two products at similar entry points so comparable and a valuable review. I think if you go for an entry level the LT is the better choice what it does it does really well, what it lack can be modded for cheap. The TM seems to want you to invest in their echo-system and by t he time you do that you are likely to stay with TM. By the time you get the TM248 rig where you want it you are $100.00 from a Fanatec DD2 with the upgraded brake load cell 3 pedal set and a McLaren GT3 steering wheel. If you want to upgrade the LT you can do the cheap mods and then I would buy a decent cockpit and then a Fanatec setup. The LT923 does not force you into buying into their echo-system because they do not have one (!). If this is just for a bit of fun why start to invest in a cheap rig? If this is to build a better and better SIMS rig you know you will swap for a better system in a few months or year. When you are ready to upgrade, what you "invested" in today will be worth nothing tomorrow. A DD wheel use to cost $1,000.00 minimum and now $300.00 will get you one. Cheers, a. Hey, what you ended up getting tho? And how has it been going? I’m planning on buying a wheel for AC mostly, and maybe some of DiRT 4, but really it’d be 90% AC
@theramatube got a T300RS GT edition. Held up great for a while but force feed back keep cutting out in GT7 in races longer than 15 minutes or so. It's perfectly fine in ACC. I've tried turning my settings down in GT7 but it seems to do nothing. Great beginner wheel for the price but I'm looking to upgrade now. Broke at the moment though lol
If your looking for a good wheel just get the tx leather edition as it comes with t3pa pedals. If your worried about shifter cost just buy Logitech's shifter and a usb adapter. However. having bought the th8a it's amazing. tx leather also has higher rotation and belt driven overall. Paid just over the price of a logitech open box for the wheel.
Thrustmaster is putting out a more budget friendly shifter at the end of July. The "TH8S Shifter", will be 70 dollar. While we obviously can't say anything about the quality just yet, I'd wager the slightly more expensive price compared to Logitechs offering will be worth it.
Makes sense to me, while being more plasticky the Thrustmaster would win out. I had a G29, and it was ok, but the software is where Logitech wheels for me really are below par. It's awful!
Psst, thrustmaster has a mobile app 😬 hope you found this out before making your purchase. It seems the T248 has small knickknacks that need fix like a piece of folded paper behind the pedals to reduce noise. It performs better, imo looks better and has strengths where it matters like the shifter, pedals, and overall response feel and noise. Just is, like you said all plasticy
@@Goldn177Not the pedals, the paddles lol. As in for shifting. And most people use household rubber bands or ideally small O-rings like for dampening mechanical keyboards, not folded paper. You don't even need to take a single screw out/do anything complicated if you use the basic rubber band method. 🤷
My opinion! Get the T150 for 200 dollars and get the T3PM it cost total of approximately 300 dollars (same price as a g29) because t248 400 sounds a lot and g29 gear driven force feedback is clunky! I have experienced g29 in a gaming centre once ;) (t150 is toy like so when I started I bought a leather wrap, my mom stitched it for me around the wheel!!!)
Do not get the T150!, it sucks! I'd get a G29 over it any day. G29 is the lowest performing wheel I'd ever advice for cheap. Get a T300RS or better would be my advice. I wrapped my wheel with suede for it myself xD. I bought it second hand. Moved on twice now. I tested the G29 a few times and I didn't like it, but it still beats the T150
I bought both the G29 with shifter and the T248 without shifter for the same price $349 USD for GT7 and I I’m trying both and I don’t know which one to keep what do you think sir. I appreciate your opinion.
Honestly here used logitech costs twice what thrustmaster does. I got a tmx with t3pa pedals and t8hrs shifter for 250€ which wouldve only gotten me a used g923 or g920 with shifter. Considering the tmx has better ffb and the shifter is much more realistic I think thrustmaster is better for the price
I'm an experienced simdriver and I have to change my wheel. I've been driving with a Thrustmaster T150 for almost 2 years now, and I don't know which wheel I should buy, because I wanna have a wheel which has good materials and good performances. T248 or G923? Lemme know your opinion👇
The Logitech one has better materials and is better for drifting, however the thrust master has better force feedback and has more customisation for what you need
I appreciate ur video. I went with the Logitech G923 because it had fewer angry reviews on Amazon citing failure, as opposed to the TM. Lots of TM owners complained that the wheel broke soon after purchase. The Logitech seemed like a more reliable purchase, but I will keep an eye on pedal response degradation now that you’ve warned me. Thanks for the review!
Yeah same. The reviews seem generally much better online for the Logitech, and I have many Logitech products so I trust the brand. Can’t wait for it to come in in a few days!
It’s worth mentioning that as of 2024, it seems that thrustmaster has released a more affordable shifter that compares to the Logitech shifter in price
In my country the g923 is closer in price to the T300 which is just superior in every way. T248 is the same price as G29 so that is a choice. I would still just buy a T150 pro because of the better pedals and lower price. Build quality is worse but the whole hybrid drive has a more detailed feal compared to gear drive and pedals are just better (compairing to g29). All tho G29 rotates faster and that might be a strong argument for some.
Uhhh.... What the fuck are you even talking about? O_o The magnetic Hall effect sensor using T3PM pedals that come w/!the T248 ABSOLUTELY FUCKING ANNIHILATES the absolutely fucking ancient T3PA pedals the T150/TMX Pro come with! If the T248 is similarly priced to the G29 & T150/TMX Pro in your country then the T248 is literally the ONLY option that ANYONE should be even REMOTELY considering, lol. 🤷
(I’m on Xbox series x) Can someone recommend which wheel to go for if they’ve had experience with them or ignore both and spend a bit more on the thrustmaster t300?
WHen I got into sim racing I went to BestBuy and got the Logitech, I was very excited but my excitement died within 2 laps of AC.. The wheel rattles a ton! and the "trueforce" is extremely useless, real cars don't vibrate so it's more of a super arcade gimmick than "Simulation" racing. I returned the thing the next morning and went to an actual sim racing store and got the tsxw with the T3-PM (the pedals in the bundle with the steering wheel showcased here) for like $125 or so. The difference on the wheel base obviously was massive but the price of the base alone is the cost of the bundle of the t240 or logitech. I can only speak in terms of pedal comparison between the logitech and thrustmaster and I can say that thrustmaster is hands down the best choice by a very long stretch. You can swap out springs on the brake pedal to get more resistance which is great, the sensor is good too which gives you a more precise input compared to a potentiometer set up so all given I think the price point is great for anyone starting with Sim racing. If budget allows more and the system used is PC I strongly suggest going straight to Fanatec's V3 pedals since they are far better with more modifications to both gas and brake pedals. Ultimately if you can spare 2K for a mid range set up I would say go with Simagic as you can get the base+steering wheel and pedals for just under 2K, but the pedals on the simagic are just light years better than thrustmaster and logitech.
First of all, Great video! 💪🏻 I have a question. I am looking for a wheel and struggling wich wheel to pick (out of the trustmaster t248 and the logitech g920..) Cause the pedals are better on the t248 but the g920 have better shortshifts and have the overhand for me. But the only thing for me is i dont know if the paddels s are good cause i heard much peaple that the peddels (especially the brake) is not so good! And i dont know on what wheel i can buy after a year a new wheel (like a ferrari wheel) and put in on. It helps me a LOT if you can help me with it and thanks for the helping video! :D
The t248 might have to be the wheel I get as the tx is out off stock everywhere! Is the ffb close to the tx? Aswell Im into open wheel and gt3 racing, is the rim suitable? Thanks, Will
Hi Will, The T248 has 70% more FFB compared to the T150 and TMX. So in essence, the FFB should be a lot better. From my experience, the wheel rim has been fine for every type of racing/driving. Unfortunately it's not swappable though.
T248 has plenty of power, it feels perfect for me at about 50% of its power and I consider that pretty firm feeling already, so if you need more there is definitely enough!
I have 2 objections to make in regards to what was said in the video. 2:10 - There is *no way in hell* the G923 is faster to return to center or react than the T248; nevermind actually trying to drift with it. It's weaker in terms of torque than the T248 due to the utterly guttless motors Logitech has chosen for it (pretty much same ones as every wheel in the G2x family) which also negatively impacts the wheel's rotation speed. You pretty much need to constantly "throw" the wheel yourself for it to react with any reasonable speed that would be suitable for drifting. 6:12 - The type of drivetrain a wheelbase uses *literally* has nothing to do with its reaction or rotation speed. You can have a gear driven wheelbase like the G923 with as much torque as the top players, like Fanatec DD2, Simagic Alpha, Simucube etc. or have a directly driven one which is as week as the two in this video. It really annoys me when people say that a wheelbases' properties depend on the drivetrain it uses - you couldn't have been more farther from the truth
Do you think a T248 be a worthwhile upgrade over a G29?I'm debating whether to keep my G29 and just upgrade my pedals to some Fanatec load cells, or just get the T248 with it's T3PM pedals.
Really nice cutted edited etc! I would pick the G923 because something like build quality and design is very important for me! (which is better on the G923 wheel and pedals so yeah) and the carpet spikes could work really well on my carpet because it is very rough. And lets be honest we all want to try True Force once xd
Picking a wheel just because it looks and feels nice in the hands but performs SIGNIFICANTLY worse as a "force feedback wheel" is absolutely fucking idiotic! 🤣 The T248 is literally almost TWICE AS POWERFUL, while also being much smoother & more detailed/accurate thanks to its gear + belt hybrid drive motor vs the usually even more expensive G923's ≈2nm grindy/gritty gear-only motor design that Logitech has been using since literally..... 2004!!! 😳🤯 Not only does the wheel base motor in the T248 absolutely KICK THE ABSOLUTE F*CKING SHIT out of the G923's, but Thrustmaster's T3PM pedals it includes are simply in another LEAGUE vs Logitech's!!! They use proper 100% wear-free & stupid fast/accurate magnetic Hall effect sensors unlike the shitty & guaranteed to eventually failed potentiometers in Logi's pedals AND are SIGNIFICANTLY more adjustable! Fuck, the T3PM's are arguably the best non-load cell pedals on the entire market. 🤷 Unless all you care about is how it feels in your hands/looks to your eyes, NOBODY should buy a G923 over a T248 if similarly priced. ≈2nm of dog-shit gear-only motor action just isn't enough man... That's like a girl edging you for an hour than saying F*CK YOU and leaving. It's just an aggregating tease. The ≈3.5nm of gear + belt hybrid T248 otoh is at least a solid PART of the real sim-racing enchilada! The one big problem with the T248 is it's loud as fuck paddle shifters, but thankfully those are actually stupid cheap & easy to fix with just some household rubber bands or even better some small O-rings like for quieting mechanical keyboards.
I just bought my T248 today. This was a great video, despite de Logitech looks better, the performance spoke louder to me, I hope the Thrustmaster be enough for most of the sim.
@bryangelade3443 If you focus are to have some fun, and maybe try to win some races, both of them would be a great shot. In my case, I liked more the T248 because it feels more realistic than the Logitech. For entry levels the Thrustmaster is better in my opinion.
Do any of these have working analog sticks? Preferably the right analog for ps5 so i can change my camera angle without having to switch to controller?
I just started sim racing i have a thrustmaster ferrari wheel for ps4 it makes lots of noise when i turn i want a wheel to play need for speed which wheel is the best for me?
Yeah. The Thrustmaster looks some what like a Mustang wheel with the silver accents. More 2013 then current. Maybe that’s why the reviewer didn’t like it? Dated old design?
@@WAHSOUL3000 I'm pretty sure it was inspired by some Opel or something. But yeah, most people dont like the look of it, they want it to be more racing looking.
I would have to agree on the longevity and wear of a potentiometer vs Hall effect especially. But I feel as with dead space tuning the Hall effect would fall short. -haven’t used Thrustmaster-own G923 5:54
Agreed, its extremely close but I chose the T248 of the two. Ive had a very similar logitech wheel in the past and like the belt/hybrid feel of thrustmaster wheels better than gears only.
I got an Xbox series s for Christmas and love playing games like Forza horizon and Assseto Corsa. However, I really want to upgrade to a wheel and shifter, my budget is about £300 any straight up recommendations?
Could you help, please? I have no idea which steering wheel to choose - G923, Thrustmaster t300 rs gt or Thrustmaster t248. (Considering that the price for t300 rs gt and t248 is equal, but g923 is 20-30 euro cheaper). Or should I wait till Christmas in the hope of getting a discount?
If possible, a second hand Trustmaster (T300RS or better) or even Fanatec (CSL Elite or better) rig. With all new wheels coming out, there should be plenty of people selling of to upgrade. If you want to buy new, still T300RS. Pedals are not great though, but neither are the Logitech ones. I bought a T300RS + T3PA pedals + TH8A shifter + wheelstand pro for €275. On the cheap side even 2nd hand. Bought a second rim and modded it. Sold the lot with a profit before upgrading. Sold my CSW 2.5 with P1 rim at a slight loss as I threw in the P1 wheel for free to get it off my hands quick.

EDIT: F1 bugs are fixed, wheel now works perfectly across the games I play
Edit: I gave it to a friend and went to a DD system from Moza. I suggest you skip Logitech these days
Good to hear that you’re enjoying it ☺️
What bugs are you experiencing in F12021? I plan on buying it to use with my G29.
A CSW 2.5 base freaked out within seconds of being on track and full FFB janked to one side (after some trying, turned out I had a lot of usb devices connected and had to stick it in a different port)
Currently new CSL DD won't recognize the H-pattern mode on my SQ 1.5 shifter.
Can you use the shifter in the F1 game with the g923 wheel ?
I recently got the G923 as my entry wheel into the sim world. Currently paired with the shifter that i adapted my shift knob from my old STi. I was skeptical at first and planned on getting the t300 but overall would have been twice the cost for the shifter and pedal upgrade. Not to mention where I live they're currently out of stock online as well. Pretty happy and maybe after my best buy warranty expires on the G923 I'll have enough to jump to the Fanatec or even a thrustmaster
Glad you’ve enjoyed it! For a big upgrade, I would look into the Thrustmaster TSXW or the CSL DD which I’ve heard great things about

@@takomusic1 100%, only standard pedals for the T300(RS) are even worse than the Logitech ones. I swapped my T3PA's (which were already an upgrade over the default for the standard T300) at the earliest opportunity.

The Logitech one is usable.
@@OCRacing I just made the jump from a G920 to a TS XW. Waiting for it to come in the mail. Couldn't be more excited.
I have Logitech g25 from many years ago. Its almost the same internals as the new one besides the new rumble motor and some buttons and its working fine today. I the g25 came out in like 2006 so its really durable.
Yea they do some quality products ngl.
G25 and G27 are the best Logitech wheels, as they function basically the same as the new ones. I still run a G19 as my main keyboard.
In my personal opinion. I think the Logitech table clamps are better over time because the handle on the table clamp always breaks and you have to use a set of pliers to tighten or loosen it. I’ve had two thrustmaster wheels already both of the table clamps broke
I own a 150 Pro and my table clamp works since 2018
I used mine literally 5 years and they werent even damaged in any way
Mine broke on my tmx pro i learned you have to not over tighten it because then you will break it easily so just go easy on it
Great video as always! The look of the T248 has grown on me, but the G923 has always looked great.
It has 100% grown on me as well, I do still prefer the sleek look of the G923 though
I personally think the T248 looks better than the g923
The G923 is so small and have so weak force feedback, that seems like a child toy compared to the Thrustmaster ones..
I had one G923 in the past and was noisy and super small, seems more like a toy, than something that you would use in a simulator

How's your new wheel?

For reference I have a steelseries Arctis 7 headset and I can hear my steering wheel over my game sound even when the headset is turned up way too loud, these headphones are noise cancelling too (I think) and I still find it annoying hearing a constant clicking and clacking from the wheelbase

thank you for this video. About to purchase my first entry level racing wheel and your video helped me making the decision.
What
The T300RS comes with absolutely DOGSHIT pedals. 🤷
ESPECIALLY as the CSL DD can be upgraded to ≈8nm with just a ≈$60/$100-150 (3rd party/1st party) power supply upgrade! The ≈4-4.5nm belt-drive T300 simply doesn't even come FUCKING CLOSE to even the ≈5nm base spec CSL DD, let ALONE the full out ≈8nm one!
@@hansyali_ Hello there, I play ATS and ETS2, Thrustmaster has more buttons and is easy to configure, these buttons help you avoid using the keyboard.

@@LucasCamargo827 hackers in racing? nah haha, barely existent
I still love my G29 (wheelbase) to death, it's been really dependable and I'm content with it, especially after upgrading to Fanatec pedals.
for brake: load cell > hall sensor > potentiometer
for other: hall sensor > potentiometer
A thing with potentiometers is that sometimes they're very sensitive in the 0% deadzone with some dust in your pedal body. I solved that on my CSL Elite pedals wy blowing it out. Had to do it twice a year so far.

A DD wheel use to cost $1,000.00 minimum and now $300.00 will get you one.

the T248 is ages behind the t300 , those are a step up
If your looking for a good wheel just get the tx leather edition as it comes with t3pa pedals.
@@captain4318 yeah they always destroy logitech in the tests because better build quality and force feedback. Plus shifters are built better
Thank you for the comparison video. Very informative and to the point.
I'd love to see how your stitched leather wheel looks!
👌🏻
Do not get the T150!, it sucks! I'd get a G29 over it any day. G29 is the lowest performing wheel I'd ever advice for cheap.
Get a T300RS or better would be my advice. I wrapped my wheel with suede for it myself xD. I bought it second hand. Moved on twice now.
I tested the G29 a few times and I didn't like it, but it still beats the T150
the head to head I've been waiting for. thanks
I bought both the G29 with shifter and the T248 without shifter for the same price $349 USD for GT7 and I I’m trying both and I don’t know which one to keep what do you think sir. I appreciate your opinion.
What game are you playing on them?
Keeping the T248 the pedals are night and day and the TM feels more realistic.
great comparison video - thanks for sharing!
I got the g29 a while ago. It's so much fun! I bought it bcuz of your content. Tho i have a question. I bought it for 130$ used. Good price?
I just got a G27 on ebay with pedals and shifter for $100.. I'm excited :)
The logitech last longer than thrustmaster tho, I will get the g923 in 2 weeks for 270$ 2700kr 1350PL
Yeah same. The reviews seem generally much better online for the Logitech, and I have many Logitech products so I trust the brand. Can’t wait for it to come in in a few days!
@@Wolviest And? How is it after a year?
It’s worth mentioning that as of 2024, it seems that thrustmaster has released a more affordable shifter that compares to the Logitech shifter in price
whats it called
@@Gabriel-PlaysTH8S model, its around 70$
Great video! This was exactly what I needed!
Glad to help :)
Thanks for sharing this comparison!
i go to my local retail stores just to try out the g923, they have this little area where they have it setup so basically im sim racing for free
😂😂😂 I have a place like that too 🤫
@@OCRacing lol
@@OCRacing Who are you supporting Verstappen or Hamilton?
Im looking for a beginner wheel. What would you choose ? Logitech G920 or Thrustmaster T248? They cost the Same at the Moment
I got a G923 and the clutch pedal is inaccurate after 7 months of use. Overall though it’s a very good wheel and I really like it.
It’s so realistic that your clutch wears off with time like in any manual cars 😂
I have a question. I am looking for a wheel and struggling wich wheel to pick (out of the trustmaster t248 and the logitech g920..)
Cause the pedals are better on the t248 but the g920 have better shortshifts and have the overhand for me.
Thanks, Will
The t248 comes now where near the tx pal, I’d wait for the tx as the r248 has no where near the same torque
Hi Will,
The T248 has 70% more FFB compared to the T150 and TMX. So in essence, the FFB should be a lot better.
From my experience, the wheel rim has been fine for every type of racing/driving. Unfortunately it's not swappable though.
@@Alexsbriggs I agree
Ok thanks for the help, Ill wait till the tx is back in stock👍
T248 has plenty of power, it feels perfect for me at about 50% of its power and I consider that pretty firm feeling already, so if you need more there is definitely enough!
This definitely helped me with my Christmas list. What are some good budget wheels?
Is it possible to turn off all vibration completely? (For times i don't want to make noise at all to roommate)
@oc racing thanks for the very helpful video. I like your rig set up. What screen mount are you using? Also what game is that you are playing?
But the G923 would be a cheaper option for manual shifting, right?
T248 lags behind in rear wheel feel, it is delayed, not due to the torque or strength, perhaps a software issue.
Do you think a T248 be a worthwhile upgrade over a G29?I'm debating whether to keep my G29 and just upgrade my pedals to some Fanatec load cells, or just get the T248 with it's T3PM pedals.
Get fanatec easily the best choice
@@Knodu Yea, I ended up keeping my g29 and getting the CSL pedals with the loadcell. I'm glad I went that route.
@@BurtSampson g29 good for 200$ brand new? Just getting into this stuff
@nonyabizz3533 yes. But if on PC, look into the fanatac ready to 2 race bundle
@@BurtSampson on ps5 and unsure if I will even like all this.
Awesome videos man they are a great help! Can u do a comparison of budget wheel stands?
I’ll keep that in mind. In the meantime you can watch my review on the next level Racing wheel stand 2.0
The intro was great lol but I have a question! Out of Lewis and max who do you think is a little bit better?
Not only does the wheel base motor in the T248 absolutely KICK THE ABSOLUTE F*CKING SHIT out of the G923's, but Thrustmaster's T3PM pedals it includes are simply in another LEAGUE vs Logitech's!!! 🤷
Unless all you care about is how it feels in your hands/looks to your eyes, NOBODY should buy a G923 over a T248 if similarly priced.
1:12 I love you put a meme from Dutch origin in your video.
I just bought my T248 today. This was a great video, despite de Logitech looks better, the performance spoke louder to me, I hope the Thrustmaster be enough for most of the sim.
How is it? I'm not sure about wich one to buy.
@bryangelade3443 If you focus are to have some fun, and maybe try to win some races, both of them would be a great shot. In my case, I liked more the T248 because it feels more realistic than the Logitech. For entry levels the Thrustmaster is better in my opinion.
@@Sinxsz hey man how is it now?? I have heard a lot of complaints about the wheel not working corectly, is yours fine?

Dude I was JUST thinking about this comparison
I know…
ive had the g27, g920, and a g29, great entry level wheels, however my only complaint was how the gear driven mech inside felt and sounds it made
I ordered a t248 for a good price and it should be really good
I think that the trustmaster looks better in style to a real car compared to the Logitech g923. But this is just what I think
Im into drifting and you think the g923 is better than t248 at drift?
Yes.
I would have to agree on the longevity and wear of a potentiometer vs Hall effect especially. But I feel as with dead space tuning the Hall effect would fall short. -haven’t used Thrustmaster-own G923 5:54
Which of two is more reliable and last longer?
A vote for the T248 at MSRP of $400 US. However, here in America, street prices are about $100 less for the G923. Tossup at those prices.

Can you please tell me if the T300 RS GT Edition is compatible with PS 5 ? Will this model support F1 2021 on PS 5?
Im not 100% sure whether it works on PS5 but I’m inclined to say yes…
Yes, the T300 is made for the PS4/5. The comparable model for Xbox is the TX wheel.
