Chrome socket on an impact and a screwdriver as a pry bar. A man after my own heart
Thanks. We never get to see the Pro Stock tear downs like we do Top Fuel and Funny Cars.
When he drops the different shafts back into their places, those sweet sounding ' clink' s indicate the parts are all happy & ready to party!
2:38 that laugh rotflmao
It always amazes me what goes into a transmission
Um, these are not complicated. At all.
@@76629online who cares. I’m still fascinated by it
Badass. I’d love to have a job like this.
As someone who is afraid to take a transmission apart, this is quite interesting.
Those automatic transmissions looks impossible tbh lol
@@jamesandonian7829 I haven’t been inside any cvt or 8-10 speed transmissions. But gn and Ford 3-4 speed automatics are surprisingly easy to rebuild.
Manual transmissions for the most part aren’t as difficult as you’d expect. And these pro stock transmissions are designed to be torn down like this every run because gear ratios are such an important part of tuning.
A master craftsman . Very nice and clean workshop on the trailer lol
I'm going to take a wild guess and say he's done that before. Maybe once or twice. AWESOME work, incredible as to what goes into one of those trans. 👍👍
On my Birthday Wish during this April I Wanted to be a Mechanic.
Absolutely remarkable engineering
That was awesome
Snapon tools the man definitely using the right tools for the job
Skills
That looks like it will fit my 11 inch clutch disc in my Chevelle , can I borrow that for a few years
Transmission is a Liberty Equalizer 5 speed. It's clutchless with twin cluster gears with the main shaft in the middle. Good for over 4000hp. They have never had a transmission break from overpowering it.
Clutchless ?? What's the pedal for then , theres no converter like what's in a Bruno, so theres got to be a clutch.
@@chadalac1977 clutchless shifting, you leave on the clutch though for most of them. However you can also spec for having a lockup converter in front of this gearbox. Very interesting stuff they are doing.
@@joshlewis5065 yup the rest I know , I was just asking your term clutchless
@@chadalac1977 the terms "clutchless" and "clutch assisted" both apply to how you shift the gears in a manual transmission. If a car has a manual clutch in it, you will always leave on the manual clutch. No exceptions.
@@joshlewis5065 thanx man I totally misunderstood my definition or terminology. Props for having an adult intelligent conversation and not making me feel like a fool.✌
I wish my mechanic was fast as you
Al Michenfelder, He could be, But then you wouldn't be able to afford him...
おもしろ〜い‼️ 最高でしたよ😃
nice
What fluid you guys run?
Yep, I woulda fucked that up...😂
Was there a specific reason for getting a replacement snap ring?
I'll guess that he dares not reuse one ( in that location)........?
@@richardkey4289 Possibly. It did look like he reused every other one.
He dropped one on the floor. Faster to get a new, clean one than take the time to inspect and clean the one he dropped.
@@tridium-go6hw I missed that. It might get handed down to one of the smaller teams afterwards if it's still good.
In some instances the snap rings are also different thicknesses for total end play adjustment.
Not enough, not enough !!!!!!
Its a old truck gearbox😂
Just thinking, won't it be simpler to have different ratio transmissions already set up and just swap tranny than rebuild them, time is money
Turn your volume up at 2:35. Hilarious
Did anyone else realize this man was asleep 😴 while working on that gearbox? 😳
tomi is faster
