this is a perfect example of why your the premium Hot Wheels channel, no one else could pull a video like this you really need to consider putting a watermark across videos like this because there is far too much temptation for others to pull parts of the video out and present it as theirs....I absolutely know this from my own experience here on youtube, far too many people produce using the hard work of others
thanks Mark for making collecting a joy. I'm about 2 years in a baby in the collecting game but to look at how the art work started is all good. I'll be looking to purchase that Otto diecast for my collection it's only right. peace and love bro
Yes, the Red Baron still in a package as nice as that is quite rare. They are not that hard to acquire loose as it was a very common red line back in the day.
Cool info. Otto is still alive age 87. From what i could find online. He retired in 1995 and came back to mattel part time and did illustrations for Hotwheels.com and a collector set. This was from a site from 2010. Dont know if hes still working. At 87 i am sure he relaxing in retirement now.
Beautiful car; the engine detail blew me away. Cedar loved the shiny chrome base! The driver is thanking you for the fresh air. I always thought there was a Cop Rods Otto - apparently not. Thanks again for RLC show.
It looks like the front end of a '69 dodge charger with an original dodge challenger hood leading into the back end of an original plymouth barracuda although on the actual model it seems to have the rear end of an original 'vette stingray
Always great to learn more about the history of Hot Wheels and Matchbox. Every time I see the package I always think of a Dodge Charger. Quite surprising to learn that it never really existed until now.
Thanks now i have a custom otto addiction to me i love the custom otto my favorite fantasy car and i wish otto would still have that hot wheels art for the blisters these days
I’m happy that this casting made it into the basics. I missed out on the opportunity of getting it from the HWC site, so seeing it on the pegs (despite having no opening hood or suspension) put a smile on my face! :)
Thanks for the history lesson and a a closer look at a car I didn't know anything about. Now that I have see it up close, I am really interested in trying to obtain it - probably a few are. Cheers
That is a beautiful model. I never knew it existed before this video. Thanks for sharing! I love the contrast between the Spectaflame copper and the matte black. It almost looks like a vinyl top. Awesome model!
Good video Mark!! I love Otto's artwork and he also did the Snake and Mongoose Drag Bus Drag Race set artwwork. I had to get the blue boxed anniversary edition Custom Otto that was recently on the hwc site because it is solid spectraflame blue just like the original blister pkgs.. If anyone wants a rare Custom Otto to hunt there is an Employee Holiday piece that was presented only to hw employees and is spectraflame pink ;)
Wow I never though about who made the card art....thanks for the informative video! Didn't know the Otto was dedicated to the artist! Only took over 4 decades!! LOL
That is Beautiful i would luv one of his cars ,,wow i guess i,m never going to see otto here in australia ,,oh well like the histroy that you bring to your channel u do great reviewing on it all ,your a kool hotwheeling ,hotwheels freedom player and collector ,,cheers jeff ,,,,
Hi Sir, I am a Filipino working in Abu Dhabi, hav been collecting cars back home but can't continue as much here in Abu Dhabi since they are a bit more expensive here, how much do you think would it cost if I ship some from there to here? Any idea?
I almost bought a 1968 or 1969 super charger, till someone pointed out that the battery pack was corrupted and It didn't work. So yeah, I almost got a non working piece of track. It was at a yard sale in my town
The more I look at it, the more I think it looks like a Pontiac GTO mash up. '69 GTO Judge front end, and '67 GTO rear end. Take a look, I think you'll know what I mean :)
Like all of us original Hot Wheel fans who played with these back in 1968-1969, I had dozens of these back then and the first thing we did was brake the package open and bang them up. Who would ever guess. Last time I checked on Ebay a 1967 original mustang with back window loovers new in package went for $5,400.00.
That's why the ones that we grew up with can be 'worth' something if they are in mint condition. Most of us played with them. Like this! Original 1970 Redline Jack Rabbit Special Blister pack
Remember seeing this car in Hot Wheels Track Attack for the Wii, it wasn't really one of the fastest cars in the game but I'm glad to know of its origin.
I'm not sure who designed the modern day Midnight Otto. I don't think that Mr. Kuhni was involved because he is a graphics guy. Packaging artwork in particular.

WOAH! YOU JUST HAPPEN TO OWN THAT HELMET CAR, AND THAT CAR IS RARE!
Yes, the Red Baron still in a package as nice as that is quite rare. They are not that hard to acquire loose as it was a very common red line back in the day.
@MrFreeziePop You are welcome and thanks!

He’s probably 90 yrs old now.
He sadly passed away in 2017.
aks otto if it is a 1968 olds toronado
Otto Kuhni (original Hot Wheels packaging designer) could have took the Charger as inspiration and then modify from there.
Beautiful car; the engine detail blew me away. Cedar loved the shiny chrome base!
The driver is thanking you for the fresh air.
I always thought there was a Cop Rods Otto - apparently not. Thanks again for RLC show.
Most releases are open to RLC members during the first 24 hours and then available to the public. You can find affordable examples on eBay too.
it is a 1968 olds toronado
Did anybody else nearly have a heart attack when he ripped that blister of the card?
I did
It looks like the front end of a '69 dodge charger with an original dodge challenger hood leading into the back end of an original plymouth barracuda although on the actual model it seems to have the rear end of an original 'vette stingray

You're welcome. I think. 🤣
My God! That Car is awesome. Sad that he's gone to a better place
I’m happy that this casting made it into the basics. I missed out on the opportunity of getting it from the HWC site, so seeing it on the pegs (despite having no opening hood or suspension) put a smile on my face! :)
Have you ever wondered, "What Is The Car On The Original Hot Wheels Red Line Package? " Here's the answer!!
I love Otto's artwork! Hotwheels should do more with him. Was he the artist for Sizzlers packaging too?
@Connor Bailey Nice evaluation!
Thanks for watching =)
Thanks for the history lesson and a a closer look at a car I didn't know anything about. Now that I have see it up close, I am really interested in trying to obtain it - probably a few are. Cheers

Lovin' the Highly Polished chasis! I checked my OLD Charger...NO sidepipes and a Larger scoop than on the Pictured car! GREAT VIDEO!! Thanx4Sharing!!!
Sorry, I have no idea. I don't sell so I wouldn't know how much shipping charges would be.
Gotta love the stories behind every video. Thanks Mark!! You rock!!
Theres one more thing I have to say; I read on the website that the suspension is indeed a bent-axle.
@marshbjuneb22 Yeah, a long time but as a collector, it is a nice touch of history.
@SCOPESEEKER I meant to use my blue one for the video but I couldn't find it. I know where it is now LOL!
Good video Mark!! I love Otto's artwork and he also did the Snake and Mongoose Drag Bus Drag Race set artwwork. Only a couple in Mbx Lesney editions could come close to the look of that car-That looks Awesome!!
This showed up on the right this morning. Great info! Thanks for sharing.
Very interesting video and story surrounding the casting...really enjoyed the video Mark.
love when you do redline videos, thanks.
A fitting tribute, indeed.
RIP Otto.
That's the one that I was going to use for this video but I couldn't find it =)
Thanks for the video Mark. I think with this weeks allowance, I'll get myself one of these puppies.
Sweet car! I like the custom Otto. Heads up. Christmas hotwheels showing up at Walmart. 8 total in the set.
Awesome video! Kinda makes me want to open some of my HWC/RLC cars.
Well I learned something that I didn't know even relieaed. Thank you for telling about the "Custom Otto" . It's One I would like to own.
Wow I never though about who made the card art....thanks for the informative video! Didn't know the Otto was dedicated to the artist! Only took over 4 decades!! LOL
Thanks! As for the watermark, thanks for the reminder =)
Just bought one thanks to your video! Can you run these cars on the vintage track? Love to see you run this one on a vintage track set.
Hit it out the park again...Thanks for the valuable info!
beautiful car and a nice story behind!
Looks cool. Is it exclusive to members?
I am also interested in that blue sports coupe with the cool taillights in the 90s mainline box art.
I wonder if Otto Kuhni worked 'til midnight, and that's how they came up with the car name Midnight Otto.
I just received my blue 40th Anniversary version from HWC. Very nice indeed.
i always thought the car on the package was a ford torino but it turned out to be something much cooler
Thanks for the incredible history lesson.
I can't wait to have a custom Otto that's my favorite casting hands down
I had a heart attack when you opened the Custom Otto
That is Beautiful i would luv one of his cars ,,wow i guess i,m never going to see otto here in australia ,,oh well like the histroy that you bring to your channel u do great reviewing on it all ,your a kool hotwheeling ,hotwheels freedom player and collector ,,cheers jeff ,,,,
great video! thanks for sharing with us, sir :)

Thanks for the insights.
Nice info I love those kind of things.... could u do a video describing the car on every hot wheels packaging ? I have a bit of info myself
Beautiful model
I almost bought a 1968 or 1969 super charger, till someone pointed out that the battery pack was corrupted and It didn't work. So yeah, I almost got a non working piece of track. It was at a yard sale in my town
I never knew that the car on the package didn't exist
Do all redline cars have suspensions?
some of them
Would have preferred blue with a solid blue top as an actual replica but I guess we get what they give us lol
looks like a great car is Otto still work for big wheels
Wait didn't the original cars come with Metal buttons?
That's based on the 68 Charger!
Nice show!
Nope, that was a newer creation.
Though on the actual car it seems to have the rear end of an original corvette stingray
Do you have any idea which designer designed the Custom Otto?
The more I look at it, the more I think it looks like a Pontiac GTO mash up. '69 GTO Judge front end, and '67 GTO rear end. Take a look, I think you'll know what I mean :)
thats very nice . the back window and boot make that car. lol along wid the Red lines. can you buy it of the shelf. and whats the tag (price tag).
I also use to think it was a 69 Charger on the package, except I thought that the artist took some liberties with it to make it look a bit different.
bent axle suspension? like the early redlines?
Like all of us original Hot Wheel fans who played with these back in 1968-1969, I had dozens of these back then and the first thing we did was brake the package open and bang them up. Cool info!!!
That's a tough car to find with that plastic button.
What about the Midnight Otto? Is it the same?
what about the midnight otto?
now adays its in the stores
nice cars thank you for sharing this video take care and god bless
How do they chrome a metal base?
Yeah, otto is still around ;)
I liked that car, enough to buy one, A great car
You're welcome =)
Do the button mean how many collections you have
It's The same Car Used for The Diamond Finish, The Most Expensive HW in The World.
Remember seeing this car in Hot Wheels Track Attack for the Wii, it wasn't really one of the fastest cars in the game but I'm glad to know of its origin.
What is the Race track worth unopened
Thats soooo cool!
good looking car
what a beauty!
@djnnascarfan You came to the right place :)
Can you order that car online?
is otto still alive?
Race Groves its a Custom Charger!
i thought Cuss Demato was the guy who trained Mike Tyson ;)
I wish they still made the Red Baron vehicle, but I guess it is to offensive because it has a German helmet design
But it does not have a swastika though. Usually swastikas are not allowed to be on a product.
i have a car named Midnight Otto, is that a Otto Kuhni named car?
I'm not sure who designed the modern day Midnight Otto. I don't think that Mr. Kuhni was involved because he is a graphics guy. Packaging artwork in particular.
What do the buttons for
The buttons have a clip on the back so that you can put them on your shirt collar or pocket.
Thank you very mutch
I always thought that car was a challenger r/t
The Challenger was a 1970 car. Hot wheels came out in 67 or 68.
wow............good
I need that Red Baron! I’ll pay you anything u want
I had a Red Barren !!!! 😕
There are spekers on the back seat
