Detroit Walking. Bricktown & Greektown

- Starting near Greektown Casino, we pass notable sights like the People Mover, St. Andrew's Hall, the Wayne County Building, and the heart of Greektown, Monroe Street. We start by walking under the Casino, and then turn to follow the People Mover tracks over to the Bricktown Station. Probably Bricktown's most famous attraction is St. Andrew's Hall. I'd venture to guess the majority of adults in this city have seen one of their favorite artists perform there. We soon come up on the Wayne County Building. Having opened in 1902 and recently having been restored, the building sits empty as it patiently awaits a new purpose. With the city growing and evolving as it is, maybe there's hope for this beauty yet. Continuing on, we intersect Greektown's main strip and loop back to take the main entrance leading in from downtown. Monroe Street is lined with bars, restaurants, bakeries and night clubs. Most weekend nights year-round see this area buzzing with activity. The modern blue Greektown Casino Hotel towers over the blocks of antique buildings and historic churches. What a contrast, and what a place to come visit. Hope you enjoy the walk!
St.Andrews Hall 🤘
Yep oh, I miss downtown Detroit. I miss the hot dog stands the beautiful buildings Renaissance Center and needless to say the nasty Old Courthouse downtown I miss that too but definitely I miss wrf radio with Drew and Mike and there's too many things did I miss that I ain't got time to mention yep you figured it out oh, I don't live there no more. I live in Dirty Old Kentucky where I'm going to die I guess so I am waving my hand at you Detroit but when I die I will die a true Detroit from the East side. 100
Hey, thanks for sharing the memories. I'm an eastsider, too, waving right back at ya :) WRIF is still around and rockin, and the Drew & Mike show is now a podcast. You can check it out here and feel like you're back in Detroit again: www.drewandmikepodcast.com/ I'll keep walking and sharing videos, so you can keep visiting virtually, too :)
"Question For Attorities. And All Others Where Are More Carasuels,And Ferris Wheel Sites That's Needed In So Many Parks?!"
At the end of the video when you were walking would have been Hastings street... Where the chrysler service drive is.
Thanks for pointing that out. Yes, indeed it was. That was before my time, but I wish I could've seen it. Paradise Valley and Black Bottom. The city keeps talking about filling in I-375 now and returning it to surface roads. It's a shame they tore down a neighborhood to build a freeway that they later realized wasn't needed.
Walker Every One Was Filming At The Best Time During Quarratine!!!"

It's hype at night and on the weekends. Hit up Monroe street in Greektown at night.
