Alain's Mega Charizard couldn't take out Steven's Mega Metagross with Blast Burn, but Charizard defeated Ash's Pikachu...
But Steven's Mega Metagross was defeated by Ash's Pikachu's 10,000,000 Volt Thunderbolt and Iron Tail...
It's like Pikachu, Mega Metagross, and Charizard/Mega Charizard, have this weird Power Triangle.
Maybe because many years passed and he had access to a Z move VS Steven? I do personally think Ash should have lost regardless but thats just me :)

They should have relied more on Status Conditions. That was Gengar's secret weapon against strong opponents, and it's how it beat Aggron. Even more, they could have been the outs needed to perfectly Counter Steven.
Cradily: Ingrain was constantly Restoring health little by little... what if Gengar's Sludge Bomb Poisoned Cradily? It would cancel out the Ingrain.
Mega Metagross: It's Speed was letting it dodge everything Pikachu did... so what if the 1st Meteor Mash that hit Pikachu, Triggered Static, Paralizing Mega Metagross? It would drastically slow down and even sometimes be unable to move completely. Letting Pikachu land an extra hit or 2, including the whole Z Move and not having to rely on just the Z Move.
This would have been a better way for Ash to win!!
I never understood Alain how he went from being the assistant of Professor Sychomore to doing unquestionable tasks for Lysander and then suddenly decided to compete in the Kalos League where he won the whole thing which should have been won by Ash
At least, He had His own miniseries that gave Him character development & showed He was worthy of beating Ash. Tyson & Virgil got backstories, but for 2 or 3 minutes. Alian was done right, unlike some people. That includes Tobias.
I mean Alain beat Elite Four despite being exhausted from beating 9 mega pokemon. Ash was not ready to beat such opponent yet.

Alain is one of my favourite characters, I was dissapointed they they just shifted him to the side like that in journeys, they should have given him anyone else but Leon. I just want to mention something you forgot though, the night before Alain and Ash's battle where Professor Sycamore came to talk to him as well as the professors thoughts on Alain, I feel like that is an important part that you missed. I enjoyed hearing about Alain thank you.
Can you do some of the professors history, specifically professors Sycamore, Kukui and Burnett. What about some of the Alolan characters like the Kahunas.

Alianwas definitely one of my favorite rivals. Especially since He got His own miniseries & got a lot of development before He appeared in the Ash storyline. My man got absolutely disrespected by the Journeys writers. I do however wonder about tje characters given their own miniseries thing though. Like, what if all the rivals who beat Ash in the leagues got their own story before meeting Ash would've helped them in the long run. Especially since Tobias' backstory will forever remain a complete mystery. That's why I call Alain Tobias done right. He got development that was needed & wasn't this someone who came out of nowhere to beat Ash.
Harrison could've had that same development as well & I wish we got more of Him in the series. Tje anime staff just made some bad decisions at points in time is all.
How come we never saw Ash having a rematch with Alain where he'd win against him?

While I only watched the Master 8. Personally don't really understand why fans were mad about Alan losing to Leon.
Alain was the only non-champion or E4 of the 8 yet managed to defeat a pokemon from the strongest Champion ever introduced before losing there no shame in losing against someone who was the top trainer at the time.

@@LuapXD Well Alain's story in Pokemon is similar to Anakin of Star Wars from how they rise in humble beginnings, to the fall towards evil forces who wants to use them for own gain and the way they rise again with redemption.
To me Alain is similar to Kylo Ren/Ben Solo in the way they conflicting them over what they're doing is right or wrong.
Alain seems to be the one who stuck in the middle Ash represents what's good in the world while Lysandre represnts what's bad, Alain is the balance between the two.

I like Gary and Paul slightly more for Ash’s character development. However, Alain is easily best character ever for integrating a rival into the main story. You don’t see Gary battling team rocket in the original series. You don’t see Paul battling Team Galactic members. Alain? Nope he’s right in the center of the plot. And, he has his own epic League Match against Ash too.
Plus, he’s also the strongest rival Ash had. Leon you can argue was more of a goal post.

During the xy specials mcx lost to siebold mega blastoise who is from the e4 and charizard was at full health before the battle. Later on we saw that mcx defeated malva houndoom, despite the fact it battled 9 mega evolved pokemon before. If alain is really champion level, why couldnt he get into the finals with only 1 pokemon? Why was ash able to defeat 5 of alain pokemon? And no, dont come up with the argument type advantage. A lot of the time type advantage doesnt mean a damn thing in the anime.

When greninja battled diantha gardevoir, diantha wasnt trying to win. She just helped ash out testing greninja strength. Most of the time gardevoir was just dodging and blocking. Btw it wouldnt make sense if ash was champion level during xyz, cz during xy ash wasnt that strong. During the entire xy anime he still struggled and lost multiple times against trainers below e4 level. U might say that ash greninja almost defeated mcx, but he didnt. At the end of the battle, mcx had still a lot of energy left. It was still able to stand properly and it didnt look like mcx had almost no energy left. Alain vs wasnt that much at the beginning. Alain started his journey with charizard as a charmander. There wasnt a hige time gap between alain vs siebold and alain vs malva

…also wulfric never mega evolve against his gym’s opponent, just when he know the opponent is very strong…but mastered AG beat him with ease.
Diantha just wasn’t try at the start to see what was ash capable of…but ash forced her to mega evolve and overwhelmed her massive shadow ball with a water shuriken heavily wounding gardevoir. With pikachu she didn’t even mega evolved.
Maybe ash wasn’t champion level…but greninja surely was….and since Alain zard is stronger same can go with Alain Charizard
And between siebold and Malva Alain had his full adventure with freaking Steven
And idk how losing to a disadvantage e4 and then winning against a neutral one after a full adventure with a champion and legendary is forced…but ash merely winning against Cynthia and Steven but then beating Leon isn’t….

My thoughts on Alain:
Ugh Ash lost to him due to plot armour system that unlished by the anime plot story where the main protagonist should've win in the Kalos League the blunder was Ash trying to outmatched him and Ash also get ahead of himself thought that he would be the victory in the Kalos League, turns out he was wrong about himself he too sure of winning you know. Ash eventually got unwanted endings even i don't have a foggest idea how people feeling fine with it. Opinion are diverst from people around the world? Fair enough however the ending not satifiying me at all wish i could turn back the clock and change it into better outcome of the Pokèmon battle in the Stadium.😒
Alain and Lysander:
Both of them work together they being faitful and devoted to one another to make something so called piece in the world Alain then realize that all of the facts that his boss conveyed was just a bluff he didn't know his real plan none other than to demolish and annihilated humand being in the world and concured the planet. Eventually overtime, Ash and Friends defeated him in arm conflict between them. Even though Greninja lost to Mega X Charizard, he was the most funky frog type Pokèmon i've ever seen in the Pokèmon history. What's your take on it? Any thoughts?😎

Ash and Greninja were the back bond of the succeed Pokèmon trainer sadly, they need to parting to each other cos Greninja needs to proctect Kalos, so long Greninja.🥺
Alain and Charizard:
They power up themself during battle againts Greninja even he got beaten alot by Greninja, they remain strong and resellient facing attacks by attacks Alain got his back and his employer Alain command him well and running the tragtegy well and due to the plotarmour or too powerful they won and became a champion in Kalos.😁
The opposite:
In Journeys the series he being defeated by Leon ss if he havent't trained his Charizard enough, he should've win with all the trainning that he running in the past. Spour of the moment, he lost instantly just like in a Pokèmon game. Just so you know, the system of the battle similar to the game system that tend to win even with over and over attack with no dougching and creative way of battling, The Journeys the series only badass in the Master 8 only, the rest of the episodes were making me die of bordom even lame sorry about that.😅

In this fan fiction Ash won againts Alain and getting married to his beloved woman named Serena, the story mad up into manga and video, the video available on UA-cam we be able to watch it for free there i've downloded the video the duration is 1 hour or so. Are you up for it brother? The fan fiction was way better compare to the original due to the fact that Ash beaten his rivals in each region successfully acording to the manga ver, the final region was Kalos not Galar by the way.😄
Note is important to note that they using nani everytime they astonish or taken aback by their action, plus they using Naruto anime battling sounds those are the shortcomings of the filler manga, but overall i really appriciate their work though.😊
My final thoughts:
Inconlusion both of them are worth to be watched the original nor the filler, i would recommend to you all to watch the filler one, the filler full of unespacted momments and you can read the rest chapters on the internet concerning on Ash and Serena as husband and wife are you ready Ashysere lovers? Ash way more matured and handsome in the filler story love amourshipping between Pokèmon Master and the queen of Kalos Serena, they are the very best couples like no couples ever was in the anime.😍🥰❤❤❤

The episodes only 4 right? He lost againts mega Blastoise but he didn't surrender there he keep training and training diving while drinking water meaning that he trained Charizard while running his obligation on the Mega evolution reasearch, got it? That idiom is similar to kill two birds with one stone, In Indonesian also we have an idiom diving while drinking water, what do you think? Oftten being done by people who are tripple threats individuals who have an abillity or capable of running three jobs could diving while drinking water as well as us, the resemblance between English and Indonesian are fact not slander you know. Don't judge a book by it's cover running the search on both languange first before saying no i've done it last year as an Indonesian native, i'm not bluffing.😇

Another unpopular opinion, i liked ash kalos league lose. The battle was very enjoyable and alain was given more build up than ritchie, harrison etc. People might say that alain charizard had plot armor, but no. Alain charizard has better feats than ash greninja. Thats a fact greninja meatriders cant accept.
Edit: Im sorry might be harsh for saying some things. Its just some xy fans can be annoying af. For example a lot of them overrate greninja. Like saying that greninja is ash his strongest pokemon ever and not coming up with good arguments. If u have good arguments, just say it.

Sign, Except the fact Alain's Charizard was a Charizard was Already in its Final Stage when we met him! Where as Ash Greninja had to Start out in its Base Form of Froakie; Since Greninja Fully Evolve until later. So those "Feats" don't mean much when you've been doing something longer!

@@darkdragon7210 Alain charizard held his own against legendaries and held its own against siebold mega blastoise. Greninja biggest feat is dealing a lot of damage against alain mcx. Some people say greninja almost won, but he didnt. At the end of the battle, charizard could still stand properly. Charizard had still a lot of energy left. Charizard was way above greninja level. I heard some people say it was very impressive that greninja defeated sawyer mega sceptile, but no sawyer is just a regular trainer below e4 level. Also a lot of people come with the argument that greninja almost defeated diantha gardevoir, but diantha wasnt trying to win. She just helped ash in testing greninja strength. Gardevoir was just dodging and blocking most the battle. It wasnt even a proper battle. U could come with the argument that greninja water shuriken was stronger than shadow ball for 1 moment, but that just felt weird. After the diantha battle, ash lost to sawyer and wulfric(1st battle). They are both below e4 level. Ash battling diantha, losing to sawyer and wulfric was all before ash could master greninja power. And no dont come up with type advantage. A lot of the time type advantage doesnt mean a damn thing in the anime.
