Ok so guys, the part where eren is seeing those "memories".. you know right after he made contact with zeke..
Pause them like frame by frame to see exactly which people are in those memories..
You'll see a goth version of Mikasa and a nerd version of Armin (with spectacles on) .. now you'll wonder where the hell are they from? They're from a parody version of Aot called "Attack on Titan : Junior High" .. ofc it's not considered canon but it is also written by the same writer..
Additionally, you'll also see a frame where "reiner, levi and jean and two others" are at sauna..
It just has confused a lot of fans if an alternate timeline exists or is it just to troll the viewers.. It's no spoilers, just wanted to share this cool detail with you that is unsolved to this day.

Everyone thought Eren would control the founder because he HAS the founder, in season 2 Eren did it because he touched a titan with royal blood (Dina Fritz), but Dina wasn't a shifter. Eren never thought if the royal blood titan was a shifter Ymir would prioritize them.

the catch with the flashback of eren dropping the ball... is that eren's motives was clear...obvious; but zeke caught on to that. that's why there are shots in previous episode with zeke looking down on eren & early this episode, him looking forward to eren's reaction to titanization. zeke thnx to the royal treatment by chance, discovered Ksavers hypothesis wasn't true.
i've seen only filmbuff pick that up, with an extra reasoning which i missed... Zeke wasn't chained the first time he was at the Paths.
