- In the words of Dr. Terry Todd, no lift is better at measuring an athlete's absolute strength than the deadlift. At the Arnold Strongman Classic, the Hummer Tire Deadlift does just that. Athletes pull weights ranging from 800 to 1100 lbs. in the form of Hummer tires attached to a 15-foot barbell. In this event, the best of the best are quickly separated from the rest of the pack.

@@victomakss8925 There will allways be another drug to be tested/used, some new way of training or eating, some other strategy for impproving, some other freak of nature with just slightly better genetics and so on. I mean that in the nicest possible way to all the contestants.
It always feel impossible to immagine untill some one does it. Just look at how the WR have increased in just 10 years.

Rogue Fitness Thanks for uploading this. But last year, we could see a lot more about the events, the videos lasted a lot more time, the Hummer Tire Deadlift video was +9min long! We love to see the competitors, and even if this year the event wasn't so good, you should make a longer video.

I think Thor likes to compete without a suit, even though they're allowed, which may have been the case here, I know that's what happened on the squat event at WSM.
hes know where near as strong as shaw and big z, to young still but he will get there if he doesn't sellout to the Hollywood life

Thor isn't really suited for the Arnold Classic. He's even taller than Shaw without as much bulk. His skills are much better for WSM, and I have him winning his first this year.
Paul Hand well yeah, but keep in mindhes ten years younger then shaw I think, if he adds 10-15lbs a year to his max deadlift then at shaws age he will prob be stronger then him, strength just doesn't happen over night

Z pulled way more last year and it looked easy, heard talk that he had some sort of back problem

Is it just me of are you a little stressed out why they never just make one video with the overall score after each event? After all these years I watch the clips on UA-cam then go on the website to keep a tab on the scores.

The hummer tire deadlift has its own world record...just like the elephant bar deadlift where Hafthor currently holds the world record at 474kg....Eddie lifted 500kg using a standard deadlift bar with calibrated plates so its seen as the proper ideal deadlift record.Also the hummer tire and elephant bar deadlifts are easier compared to the standard one because of the mechanical advantage due to the bar bending.Even though the elephant bar deadlift requires less effort to pull the same amount of weight than the standard one, it has a spring action when you lift it which makes it harder to balance so u cant say which is more difficult to do-the standard bar or the elephant bar.Thats why each of them have their own world record.

+fatsamcastle That is Bill Kazmaier, he isnt just some "stupid commentator",. You should learn your history: 3 WSM championships, 5 total on the podium, 2 IPF world chamionship, and 30 more major titles and wins under his belt. He, sigurson, and magnusson built this sport.
