    Had my v3 for a couple of years now and although it is expensive when compared to other items you can buy for the rig, it really adds to the immersion, it may not make you faster but it makes the whole experience more fun. When combined with VR it is awesome. when you get hit from the rear or when you drive onto the banked circuit at Daytona and the seat starts to tilt, big smile every time.

    Fantastic addition for the sim racing experience!!! I've had it for close to a year and unfortunately caused trauma to the base of my thumbs from paddle shifting and having my seat to close to the wheel. This combo caused heavy forces applied to the thumbs with subsequent injury. I toned my DD1 and the longitudinal forces on the motion rig down, set my seat further back and do sequential shifting with my right hand ( I'm a US driver). It is apparent that the newer Sim racing equipment is starting to require the drivers to be more "in shape" to avoid injury and raised awareness of ergonomics when possible. I do love the motion rig and would not change it for the world, though.

    Hello man, thanks for the vid. Thanks to you and Barry from SRG I ended up going to one of those. Considering before the DOF reality that was less than half of this price, but went with the v3 (smoothness, speed of reaction, software, form factor, noise). My conclusion, after having it simracing is just in another level, the feeling of the car through g forces, increase in consistency, modulation of braking, ability to use my 6channel bass shakers with its software, ... It is difficult to explain to someone without it how it feels... For me has created a huge leap in realism and immersion that didn't know can be felt in simracing. If you like this feeling and immersion, although is not a cheap gear, once you try it you just will find ways on how to get it, because it's addition makes so so so much for this hobby. Just mind blowing, unbelievable...
    Also for people worry about if it will make you slow, if you are competitive... Well I'm not by no means an alien, but I'm not slow at all and pretty competitive... After having the platform in specific tracks and Cars, it gave me this extra buffer to improve laptimes which I attributed to the extra information an feeling from the platform... It has never decrease my laptimes after having it, the opposite, in all cases a better performance on track, in some combinations (track/car) a good increase of performance and laptimes from before ...

    Love mine. First one I bought was broken out of the box with a USB problem. Was replaced immediately be Pagnian and haven’t had a single problem since. It’s just an amazing transformative bit of kit for your rig. Pagnian were great to deal with too.

    Having tried 2 full motion platforms before I know what you mean by trying one that’s turned up!
    First experience was a Motum Simulation chassis + 6DOF platform for a pre-AusGP promo event was quite an impressive first experience - combined with VR it was tuned quite well
    The other one I got to try was Tom Randle’s Dream Simulation with the CKAS 6DOF platform, which was designed for aviation experiences I’d wager 😅 but that was turned way up and took a good 15 odd minutes to be able to focus on what was on the monitors that were attached to the rig as well!

  • @iseeq72

    The simple and brutal truth about motion platforms: You need at least 5000$ today, to get a platform that actually works and does more than just create confusion. Why? All the cheaper systems do not provide enough acceleration or speed (200mm/s+) or low enough lag. For that you need PRS actuators (or actuators with similar specs) -> problem: even the smallest versions have a price tag of around 700$ for one single piece (!). And you still need a controllerbox, the frame, the rig...
    I use a Dofreality P3 right now, nice for some additional immersion, but in the end it is more a distraction if you really want to do fast lap times.

    • @GMCRaptor
      @GMCRaptor 3 роки тому

      You are 100% correct. I also have. DOF P3 and immersion is great as all rig moves rather than just seat which is not a natural move in relation to feet and hand controls. But in the end if you want speed get a good wheel base and pedal set. I also have a P5 with PRS system and it is insane for realism way better than P3, but then again it’s not for everyone’s budget, but if you can afford it, it really is next level motion and you won’t drive anything else. Long live sim racing.

    In a passenger car the G- forces you get taking a corner at high speeds can # 1 make you feel like your sliding across the seat even with seat belt on your legs feel like they are going to the other side of the car not to mention your feet wanting to slide off the pedals or when going air born your feet can go up and off the pedals towards the bottom of the dashboard . so does the seat mover that you have give that kind of sensation even if your feet don't actually come off the pedals from not having actual g forces

    • @boostedmedia
      @boostedmedia  3 роки тому +1

      It doesn’t give the sensation to the same extent but it does give similar cues. So when you’re driving and everything else is going on the immersion level is pretty amazing.
      No compact system can simulate sustained gforces unfortunately.

    Thank you for this 18 month follow up - great progress in 3 years, remember you paid a discount price for it. Tech question:, when I brake, my body is usually throw forward first by is momentum and then front suspension compression. Does this thing work in the work the when I brake, seat tilt back briefly (0.2s) then tilt downward more slowly (0.5-1s) to simulate the procedure?
    Further, if I combine this with the motion platform plus, can this simulation the body momentum (brake tilt backward) and the motion plus platform simulate the suspension change (tilt forward)? Thank you.

    Hey Will, I know this is an old video and you now have an actuator rig but I have a question for you... I am looking to build a rig with a center console, passenger diamond plate floorboard and triple 32" curved monitors. Do you think a seat mover would be ideal since due to the design of my rig a full motion I feel wouldn't work too great with keeping everything where it needs to be? My biggest concern with getting a seat mover is everyone that gives input regarding them states that they provide too much of a disconnect to driving, you had owned one longer than most anyone I can think of, what is your true thought on it now that you have experienced a full motion actuator style rig? Would you recommend someone with my above build go with a seat mover, or should I maybe look at the motion plus platform or actuators?

    • @boostedmedia
      @boostedmedia  5 місяців тому +1

      Honestly in your situation I’d probably get some powerful bass shakers and leave it at that. I run a Dbox on my daily driver rig for the past 3 years now and use it primarily as haptics.
      The seat mover was cool but it definitely made me slower.

    • @tztok-rubkok6789
      @tztok-rubkok6789 5 місяців тому

      @@boostedmedia I don’t do much competitive racing its more a build for myself to enjoy and be immersed, currently running 5 bass shakers, in the time that you owned your seat mover, did you find it to be a big disconnect from your rig? What I am mainly looking for is some additional immersion in VR and triples mainly feeling breaking and acceleration a bit more than the shakers can provide, also liked your concept of the seat mover with a harness on bungees to simulate breaking pressure! i am truly torn between a seat mover and actuator setup. With so many saying the seat mover is awkward to use but then I see many reviews of people who love it.
