I love how you take your time to explain how you do things the right way. You’ve going to this high level of customise your van, why not shoot for the stars and for a top show car.
Getting there Howard! Loved the reference to your tools that were your Dad's, shows the admiration and affection you both shared and it shows in your workmanship and lifestyle. Thanks Bill Mc
It's always a joy watching you work Howard. Thanks for another installment. The old girl's getting there. Also looking forward to Summernats coverage too mate. I have to live vicariously through others as I have no time to get down there. Take care and God bless. Regards Tony
I've been following your Chanel for a while now mate and thoroughly enjoying the content I'm a mechanic restorer but do enjoy a bit of panel and paint Keep up the good work
I think if you were not doing it Howard people would be asking what’s going on 😂😂 You know you have admitted you have a problem and that is the first step Well done
I'm still learning but you used the word patience - which I lack. I admire you for your patient perseverance. Can't wait to see the paint colour and processes.
Shit Howard, that is just so much better than Henry ever managed. Lovely work. I'm currently on a Mustang and I think everyone that worked at the San Jose plant in April 1965, or likely any other time too, should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves. They just threw them together. Thanks again for the content.
As always, I learn so much from you about working metal. Between you and Adamson Auto, I've been brave enough to try an work out some pretty creased damage on a Ford Territory I have. I'm far from professional in any sense and have practiced heaps on old panel metal but I've got it to a place it only needs light skimming. Of couse I'd love to achieve a resut that needs no filler but as I said, I'm no professional and I'm just having a crack but I reckon by the time I get finishing coats on it, most folk wouldn't know. AND I feel better because I know I've dealt with rust and used as little filler as I possibly could.
Thanks for your advice, it helps a lot. One day when you get spare time could you give some do's and don'ts when using deoxydine / rainex, I am struggling to beat the flash rust, but other times I win and don't see rust for a week. Any help would be appreciated.
Howard, just reflecting on your seams and interfaces between multiple panels. I'm currently working through how we are going to finish off the bottom panel under the rear window of my xb coupe. Specifically the end of those panels where they attach to the rear quater and the boot channel. There is a small gap between panels in the internal corners which I believe was filled with brass from factory. My panel beater is debating between welding the gap up or using a panel bond. What do you use to fill those spaces up in your builds?
Another great episode on the XC mate. No Doubt with your attention to detail it will end up at shows as much as your saying your keeping it as an Original state. Are you going to sand back the ID number constantly that is on the Shock Tower so at the end of the build it looks genuine ?
This is great stuff. Just a quick question, my XB is wrinkled on the firewall next to the 2 vertical line in the middle. I have been told it looks like it was in a bingle but another said its just from the stamping process. Any thoughts. Great stuff once again.
One of my favorite channels, got some great merch off you last nats, only complaint with the shirts is the designs are too nice, don't want to wear them and ruin them. Also, I bet I know the answer but going to put it out there anyway: concorde front end
Why I’m doing that I don’t know - made me smile 👍 Still loving your content Howard!
Yeah, say it all the time
@@AstillDesign-- when you do " PERFECTION" for so long, it's hard to do a " normal" job !!!!!!
These are the best videos mate. Much prefer these more than the car show stuff. Thank you

I love how you take your time to explain how you do things the right way. You’ve going to this high level of customise your van, why not shoot for the stars and for a top show car.
Not this time, been there too many times. It will be nice but not over the top

Nice work Howard. Plenty of progress.

I'm still learning but you used the word patience - which I lack. I admire you for your patient perseverance. Can't wait to see the paint colour and processes.
Always good when you start to see some colour, Sherwood Green
Awesome work as always Howard. Well done 👏 ✔️
Cheers Mate
Thanks Howard enjoying the xc panel van videos.👍
It's getting there.

That's awesome, it's great to hear your confidence growing. I always need some filler

There is a video on metal prep and the deoxididine process, have a look right at the end. ua-cam.com/video/68lBpckQK18/v-deo.htmlsi=JYlH3_8DlbSsc3XJ
@@AstillDesign Thanks for that.
i relate ican't help getting fussy even though no one will see it
I have always said do every part the best you can
Mate that Drivers door jam looks incredible . why are you putting / adding more bog into it ?
Just filling spot weld and pressing lines for a clean finish
@@AstillDesign Thanks mate, you are a true perfectionist , love ya work.
So you welded up the holes for the brackets for the radiator on lower crossmember I suppose you can always re-drill
🤔

I normally fully weld and cut the panel gap back in. For concourse they are spot welded and seam sealed. Not very effective long term.
Firewall holes/studs, mounting for the carbon canister?
Yes it will have the carbon canister
Love your work Howard, what is the final colour?
Cheers Mate, A new twist on the original XC Sherwood green

Are you going to sand back the ID number constantly that is on the Shock Tower so at the end of the build it looks genuine ?
It will be avoided right up until final colour other wise you wont be able to read it.

They all have press wrinkling in that area
@@AstillDesign Thankyou
