The crazy thing is that when i started watching Gilmore Girls many years ago, i was Rory's age and now i am Lorelai age ! This feels so crazy to me 😱 one fact for sure is that i still LOVE GM sooooo much !!! ❤️
Not sure if you’ve heard of it before, but there’s a hilarious podcast called Gilmore Guys that’s hosted by these two friends - one is a GG superfan and the other has never watched an episode. They watch the entire GG series together and discuss it...and add their hilarious commentary! Plus almost every main actor on the show joins them for an episode, including your fave, Jess/Milo! It’s super fun to listen to while rewatching the series, highly recommend!
@@lucindanukari It's on Spotify! Just a heads up, they've recorded additional episodes where they rewatch other tv shows so you'll have to go all the way back to the oldest episode to start and work your way from there. :)
Courtney!! Just wanted to say the BIGGEST thank you for recommending this podcast, I’ve been listening to it every day on my drive to work and I’m obsessed! Such a funny podcast to listen to, and I havent even gotten to any of the big guests yet!
Glad you like it! You’re totally right, it’s definitely chaotic and their conversations bounce all over the place but when they do talk about the show, I find their insights really interesting. I actually went to a live recording of the show when they were touring and made a stop in Toronto and it was a blast! P.S I don’t think they start interviewing the actors until a couple seasons in so you could always jump ahead and listen to those if you don’t want to wait! 😉
There is also a Canadian podcast 🇨🇦 Called coffee with a shot of cynicism ☕️they are very funny as well they talk about the episode more but it’s still good 😊
My project: I printed out the Rory Gilmore Reading List and as I watch the show, every time a book is mentioned, I look it up on the list, then write down the Season and Episode. I then divert a bit to UA-cam and look up and listen to a book review. I also went through the whole list and circled the books I already own. I check marked the books I've read. I just ordered a Luke's Diner mug.
Such a cozy vlog!!:) This readathon was so fun! You and Carolyn should host another one soon, a fall themed Gilmore girls readathon would be amazing!!😍😍 P.S. I also had a very short outdoor reading experience as it was super windy and cold haha!😊
It's so freaky but I think you do actually look like Alexis Bledel 😆 This was such a fun vlog 💛 I wanted to participate in the readathon but unfortunately last week was pretty stressful for me and I wasn't able to :( But I'm definitely looking forward to your other videos and possible Gilmore Readathons 💛
that Luke's mug 😍 ahh The Raven yes! I love Poe so much your Rory outfit is adorable ^^ I don't even like apple pie, but yours looks delicious 🍏 The Crucible sounds very interesting! absolutely loved everything about this video
This was the best. Thank you for hosting the readathon. It was my first ever readathon that I took part in and made a video for too. I just discovered Gilmore Girls last month so for me the readathon was great to cement my love for the fandom :D
I just found your channel so I am a new subscriber. I too am a big Gilmore Girls fans, even though I am probably old enough to be your mother.....LOL. You actually look like Rory! Adorable!
Thank you and Carolyn for hosting. I am definitely going to try listening to Autumn cosy when I am reading next. The pancakes and pie looked amazing! I haven't read the crucible since high school and I need to re-read it. If you do another readathon I will definitely join 😄
Ciara!!!!!! 🥰 I absolutely love you and our Gilmore Girls family!!! 💙📖💙📖💙 I had so much fun doing this with you again, and loved having everyone join!!! I simply can not wait till we do this again!!! 📖💕 P.S. Your dramatic reading of The Raven was incredible!!! You're going to give The Poe Society a run for their money!! 🤣🤣🤣🖤
I just loved everything about this readathon! I hope I can join the next one!!! Definitely the bingo thing added a lot than just sit and read trying to get somewhere in the infinite list of GG books 😂
I loved this! And I love Gilmore Girls! I will for sure participate in the next one! Also, I’m sure you hear this all of the time, but you look SO MUCH like Rory!!
Okay I watched your first Read-A-Thon last night! And I am obsessed! Also you remind me of Rory so much, like it’s insane! Please do more Gilmore Girls videos? Maybe a look-book/outfits inspired by? 🙌🏻🌷
Man,gilmore girls,is such a comforting show to me. I think as far as shows ill always love, and always makes me happy, is gilmore girls☺❤ i live in CT,and chilton is based off of a school here in wallingford, called Choate. I need to explore the town that is based off of stars hollow. Its called washington depot, here in CT. Thats on my bucket list lol to eat food there,go to "lukes"
What a lovely video the watch about the readathon! I really want to make apple pie now 😂 A great tip about witch trials: The Familiars by Stacey Halls. I absolutely loved that book.
This was my first ever readathon and I loved it! I read Animal Farm, Alice Wonderland, Macbeth and One hundred years of Solitude :) definitely the day I read most of my entire life hahaha I even made a reel on ig lol
Thx. Perhaps the term for which you searched is "McCarthyism," which often is mentioned as a motivation for Miller's "The Crucible." Oddly, it's a term most people know even though there is a paucity of relevant literature. Myself, reading a biography of Edmund R. Murrow helped a bit. There's also a wonderful film, starring Zero Mostel, named "The Front."
I didn't tweet or post anything but I did participate, I was so confused with the schedules because I'm from Guatemala and basically I took friday and saturday haha, I had other things to do but I Made progress with my reading, so it really helped! Thanks for doing this, I hope there's another one in the future
Hi nice vid, what book shop were you at in 23:36 is it Waterstones, if it was your Waterstones is so much better then the one I live near, all those beautiful books on the far left shelf 😍😍
LOVED the video!!! You actually inspired me to rewatch Gilmore Girls, and I've gotten one of my friends who has never seen it before to watch it! She loves it :D
4 роки тому+6
I had such a great time participating in this readathon! I will have to get one of those Luke's diner's mugs before the next round 😉
Not sure if anyone else said this but I studied The Raven in my literature class and its theorized that there was actually nothing there and that it was his imagination because he's in some sort of way going "crazy"! Super interesting once you read it again with that knowledge, you can kinda see how erratic and desperate his behavior gets! :))
If I'm not mistaken, The Crucible was written as a commentary on the McCarthy-era prosecution of communists which involved a similar dynamic of forcing people to give names to the authorities (whether they were actually communists or not). Love this idea of the readathon! Now I'm in the mood to rewatch GG, it's been A WHILE.
I thought reading The Picture of Dorian Gray for the readathon would be easy since it was “only” 200 pages. But, I absolutely failed to complete it during the readathon haha. I think your strategy looks a lot more productive. It was so neat to look through the Rory Gilmore reading list and see which ones I had heard of and which were entirely new to me!
Are there any good books about the English witch hunts? I know they were very different than American but idk how except English was more burning and American was drownings and hangings.
I'm really sorry but I'm not sure I have any advice here - I just have always been quite a fast reader! Don't put pressure on yourself to read at a certain speed, just read at your own pace and enjoy it! :)
In reference to the witch hunts, I think that it is important to consider how those on trial could be just admitting to the crime to just make it all stop. There is a documentary on Netflix called Witches: A Century of Murder and it talks about the witch hunts which originated in Europe, and how the victims were tortured into admitting their crimes.
A random question: did you pay customs or tax for ordering from the US to the UK? I want to order but dont know if there or what is the value of the order that requires you to pay customs, if there is. I hope that makes sense
I read HOWL in August too. Ugh I’m unsure about poetry to begin with but I just don’t get it!!! One piece sounds dead like it was missing words and gaps of context. I guess that was the purpose but I could make sense of it didn’t know how to approach it. And I think as you said if you have to do research to understand something...I guess it’s for a niche or a club that I’m just apart of lol.
That was my first readathon! Very fun! This weekend (labor day weekend in the US), I'm going to try and read Dune, and making and eating Dune related food, and watching the original Lynch movie version of Dune. Anyone else attacking a bigger book this weekend?!
Rory Gilmore is not the most well read tv character. Spencer Hastings from Pretty Little Liars is also well read. She can quote any line from Dostoevsky in Russian and have read every classic along with every Shakespearean play.
I mean, sorry haha! I wasn't stating as an absolute fact, more just a hyperbolic funny statement to highlight that she is a well real fictional character and certainly the most well read character in any show that I've seen.
Ciara Foster haha you don’t have to apologize, I just wanted to mention that she is also well read. And you are absolutely right, Rory is a well read fictional character. Enjoyed your readathon immensely.
For the *literal* reason they exist - so you can wear skirts when it’s cold outside! But to clarify, you sound completely idiotic in these comments so, love that for you
Somehow, you also kinda look like her? How poetic!
I was coming to the comments to post the same thing 🥰
She looks like Rory and April had a baby.
Yes she does!!
I thought it was just me seeing it 🤣
The crazy thing is that when i started watching Gilmore Girls many years ago, i was Rory's age and now i am Lorelai age ! This feels so crazy to me 😱 one fact for sure is that i still LOVE GM sooooo much !!! ❤️

HAHAHA same!!! Man I can't believe the show is literally 20 years old!!!?!?
@@AVintageJoy i know !!! Twenty years!!!! That's crazy !!!
same! :D
The fact that you look so much like her makes this even more appealing!

Aww I love so much that you’ve loved the show for so long!🥰
the amount of anxiety i had watching that coffee cup, afraid it would spill over lmao

Okay, I'm feeling very autumnal now.
Loving all the Gilmore Girls vibes!
That apple pie dish is so cute! Love it.

You can find loads on Etsy!
If you want to know more on Allen Ginsberg, watch the movies "Kills Your Darlings" and "Howl" (both Dark Academia movies).
Kill Your Darlings is definitely on my list - it looks so good! And I’ll definitely check out that other movie too!
i just loved this video! you're incredible. love from brazil :)

I loved this readathon!
Please please please do another one soon!
The Crucible while taking place in Salam witch trials was written as a commentary on the Red Scare and Mccarthyism in the U.S. during the 1950s

Such a calm video, I really enjoyed it ✨🥰
Alias Grace by Margaret Atwood is really good if you wanted to try more of her books!

I found it in the Picadilly Waterstones store!
It’s the Everyman’s edition :)
I did the quiz and I got Emily Gilmore 😳
QUEEN EMILY!
Luke Scott might be a close match to Rory in being a well read TV show character.
Well, now I'm stuck with memories from the past! 😭
You scared me 😖 I thought you were actually Rory from another universe.
😂
