Every year it seems the CRA gets hacked. Logging in is a nightmare being asked soooo many security questions. How did this fellow find out he was hacked? I was locked out of my account saying it had been compromised a few years ago and AGAIN this year ! Shame on CRA not being able to secure their website.
We are being forced by all level of governments to conduct transactions that result in the sharing of sensitive information. We need a system that makes it easier for all of us to be provided with assistance in clearing our name and making necessary changes in the event we are comprimised.
What I don’t understand about the CRA is that they impose interests and fines if you are not on time but once I waited a year for them to make a payment and I didn’t get any interest on it. Why it’s always one way. We need to pay for our mistakes and they pay nothing even if they are wrong or not on time.
They are also going after millions of Canadians who rightfully we're qualified and applied for cerb benefits. I subsidize my low income pension with an Airbnb in my home. When the tourism industry and travel shut down I applied for those benefits with my home based business license. They now want $32,000 from me. It is impossible to get them to listen or even to read the appeals or even to permit me to apply for a tax judge. They are intimidating and scaring millions of people.
And, in the meantime, #victims are left without recourse. If the CRA website is not compliant, they had better be seat-belted in, because THEY, not Canadians, are responsible for securing our information. 🤨
People's passwords weren't leaked as I was one of the lucky ones and it showed the last login as the last time did taxes yet they managed to change data and sign me up for cerb to a bank account in Quebec when. I live in a different province.
The CRA can't even do their jobs properly but they expect Canadians to just bend over and take it. How many CRA workers tool cerb and then exempted themselves from paying it back?
That end statement makes me laugh and laugh. CRA doesn't hold victims accountable?? BS. My account was hacked, and CRA now demands I pay back CERB payments I did not receive (hacker) and they put it on ME to prove this, when THEY have all the proof right there in front of them!! 🤬🤬🤬
The whole thing should have been a loan program that everyone had to eventually pay back. CERB, CEWS all of it and people would have been more conservative with taking it.
They got Employment Insurance as well using his identity. Would think they could figure that one out by his filing tax returns indicating he was working???

That's what happens when you have boomer programmers developing these sites using Java 6 and using DES for encryption 😂

The CRA had a group of workers claim cerb while working and they're not being made to pay it back, now THAT is a real scandal
