I'm surprised you didn't just ("just") take the damaged blade off. Seems like a top-mounted pusher jet (e.g. Cirrus Vision or Subsonex) would at least avoid the issues of ground debris, right?
that's not much of a "fatal flaw" I was flying a 150 during my flight training were all the screws. which looked like metal screws started zippering out of the cowling... I ended up slow flight back to the airport. needless to say I never rented from that flight school again.
Why are you taking the prop off? That’s an easy in-field fix. I’ve had so much FOD go through my MT on my Velocity over the 22 years that I’ve had her flying. Almost all of it can be done in-field with about an hours work (and then just wait for the composite repair to cure (24 hours). Then next day sand and paint the repair. Done.
I didn't show it on camera or discuss it, but the owner had the prop overhauled a few months back. Some of the paint had some defects and started peeling. So the prop shop was fixing that under warranty anyway.
Here's what I don't get, cut out the first attempt to open the locked door, script a video that only features the plane the damage and other relevant information, there's never any reason to actually see the narrator. It's indulgent and conveys nothing... this is an issue with thousands of technical videos, very few actually need an on-screen personality or presence,
Please show more on the Velocity
.
Heck yeah Velocity! Love the channel… keep going Bryce
Hi. I fly a Piaggio p180, I already have damage from FOD (Screw, stone, etc). Just do a good post flight inspection
Did ya turn off the master?
Of course, I realize now I didn't film it
I haven't heard the step ladder joke since A&P school...hope they didn't get rid of it in the ACS.
We have a Piaggio P-180 that parks at our ramp sometimes. Everyone calls it the catfish.
They do be looking like a catfish
Love this aircraft, sad to hear you probably wouldn't want to land one on a PNG airstrip. Oh well, that's why we have flight sims.

I would agree that higher props like a cessna 337 is probably better. The propeller shop is also doing some warranty work on the other blades.
Where to start with flaws of pushers? More dad jokes please 🙏

The cowling was just removing itself for maintenance.
I thought this was going to be about engine cooling
Surprising enough if you have a well designed baffles and inlets it doesn't get any hotter then a tractor prop would

Good news nobody is forcing you to watch. Also, if that's the content you want to see, then go make it. Start your own channel.
