      just releasing pressure from the hydraulics, possibly a leak.

      No not a leak just pressure leaving the barrels, always put your bucket on the floor saves all that uncertainty though

      @@Lasttruegrafters I was waiting for someone to say that. I was getting so mad everytime he left it up, that's one good way to force a leak in a perfectly fine seal.

    Finally a real garden! I've been watching so many "garden makeovers" that resulted in nearly plant-free spaces with lots of concrete and in the comments people were gushing over the "beautiful gardens" that weren't gardens at all. So this is a breath of fresh air. Very nice!

    Like how all the rainwater from the shed goes both into the garden next door or onto the fence lol. Nice combination of flowers and stone path, yet way too much stone or rather would be nice to see a calmer area to compliment less stone.

    I would have thought certainly one side of the fence be faced the other way, perhaps the back side as well. The posts need some caps to run off water or they’ll rot quicker. Technically you can your face your fence how you like, it’s etiquette to give one of your neighbours a better looking side. Either the left or the right side should normally belong to your neighbour. It’s just polite to do so.

    Wow some people are really going for the garden owner in the comments! This garden is absolutely fab :) I’m sure the owner of the garden knows what will be involved in the upkeep of the plants, pond etc... that is probably the reason they put so much time, effort and money into the project. This garden is going to give them years of satisfaction in quiet relaxation and also in outdoor maintenance. When I saw all the tree ferns I guessed the budget was generous. It’s their money don’t begrudge how they spend it. Thanks for the video!

      @jdmsll 3 роки тому +29

      yeah it was a beautiful effort, but also a major flaw in design... why even go through the trouble of renovating the entire garden to include a walking path leading up to a structure, if you'd still have to step over plants to get there?? 🤣🤣

    • @Noodledarth
      @Noodledarth 3 роки тому +9

      They're perinnial plants, not shrubs and the flagstone path can cut the growth of those plants, but yeah overall its pointless or annoying. Its cool af tho with that included... if only the path was wider, but maybe thats the beauty of it. Walking thru a bunch of plants to get to the chill spot. You can do anything with landscaping as long as its done right.

    Even though the final result is pleasing to the eye, I feel like "Nature garden" isn't really appropriate ? Like half of the garden is covered by the tarpaulin used to create the permanent pond, which leads to two problems of water management ; in the summer, you will probably need to add water to keep the pond at a minimum level and in the winter, the strongest rain events may cause huge run-offs as infiltration will be nearly impossible. And the plant species you use don't seem to be local, so you do not create habitats for the local fauna. Personally, it feels like this garden was more alive at the beginning of the video.

    • @schattenfellvomwaldfuchscl5804

      So true. Foil. Stones. A dead piece of lawn ( aka "Green desert" ) Not even a way to enter for Frogs , Lizards Hedgehogs or anything else. Nothing natural will survive in the pond either , because of the Goldfish in there . ( I hope they added a filter somewhere ! ) There are a few good nectar flowers , tho , but I guess every bug or caterpillar will send them running to the "poison"- store. A little non - poison vegetable garden with flowers and a compost bin together with a flower meadow , some blooming and fruit bearing climbers , a vew birdhouses , and 3 masonry buckets with water and waterplants and a little "stream" between them would have done the trick a 1000 times better... (and they would have spend some 1000ds less ; ) )
      What scares me the most are all the ppl agreeing that THIS is a nature garden.

      @@michaeldeeming8496 They’re both correct, however. This theme garden, however attractive, does not complement the architecture of the home nor does it respect the natural flora or fauna of its location. The use of so much plastic promises many future problems, of which some were already mentioned (and I do mean the near future). These types of makeovers are costly to install, fadish, indulgent and usually end up costing much more money as time progresses. Someone with experience in creating this kind of environment properly would ensure that nature becomes the future engineer and caregiver. It’s unfortunate... because the homeowners could have achieved so much more with just a little more due diligence in their choice of contractor/designer. The lack of understanding about water use and mitigation is obvious... particularly in the pitch and placement of the reading shed alone. I imagine they’ve already had serious complaints from their neighbors.

    Very nice work! We built a similar pond and wanted to share something in case you find it useful. Not sure if those palm trees are dwarf and what kind of root system they have. We have Golden Cane palm trees very close to out pond and the roots pierced the liner of the stream looking for water (4 years after building it). Although they looked awesome, we're now having to remove all the palm trees that are very close to the pond and replacing them for tropical plants that don't have an aggressive root system. I know this video is from 2019 and they might be established now but maybe something to check ;-)

      @@stanglova86 actually, around 10-20k is enough for this garden. Most expensive parts here are the sago palm costs around 400€/piece. I am a Landscape gardener myself, this Garden well, it looks pretty, but its very stressful, the Water needs constant maintenance especially with fish in it. The Shed just doesn't fit in here at all, and I don't know what they where thinking with the roof of the shed. I also don't know what they where thinking by planting Bamboo. Even the ones that stay small and centered, will make roots that pierce through concrete. The Lawn already shows yellow stains, either to much water (bad drainage) not enough nutrition (they only applied roughly 5 cm of Humus) This Garden wont last long.

      Thanks. I realised that lots of grass is just a waste of space (I have no children or pets), so better to fill it with interest. Should I ever move and the next owners not like it then can always fill in the stream to level it out, not a big deal.

      It looks amazing for what you get, it really does. However, I can only imagine the maintanence of this garden over time.. tending with plants, making sure the fish are healthy and the water is good for them, rocks getting the dark surface over time and pressurewashing is needed to keep it looking fresh, fences getting green or dirty unless treated properly.. and what if one gets tired of the same view every day vs a regular garden..? Just my to cents. A beautiful scenery though :)
