Also thinking of what you said after the first episode about duration so am really trying to ensure I keep making that 30min feel like 5! Really appreciate the feedback
Hey Marius. Thanks for an amazing episode 3. Your kidz are sure having a ball. Did that "short cut" to Plett 15 years ago. Absolutely beautiful countryside for sure. Thanks man....
Its called an Aeropress - Google it - its always rated as one of the best and its super cheap - think they about R600. best explanation is its like a plunger on steroids! Worth getting the stainless steel filter to go with it. I also have my grinder so I can choose the grind I need based on the coffee and the way I am making it.
No the Front Runner Rooftop tent comes with a mattress that folds up inside the structure so you not carrying additional stuff with you and it was actually surprisingly comfortable. I also had a two man tent as another option to try on the trip and I borrowed an inflatable mattress for that - what a waste of time. Bought the foldable cushion / mattress instead
@@ettienejoyvosloo8624 That’s a great question! I spent very little time cruising on highways - we were mostly threading through passes and on gravel roads so our consumption was higher anyway. I was averaging around 650 - 700km per tank (80l) - 12.5 - 13l / 100km with the 3.0l diesel. The tent only weighs 43kg - super light - and they have a scoop attached to aid airflow - on open road cruising I would certainly imagine there would be a small increase in consumption but really can’t see it being much at all
@@ettienejoyvosloo8624 That’s awesome! Shout if you need any assistance - will be uploading the actual GPX files and all the routing info onto my website
Really enjoying this boet! Looks like you are having an awesome time! Honestly, I'm a little bit jealous! And correct...that is the correct way to drink a SteriStumpie!
I didn't know there was another way to drink it haha.... Baviaans is properly impressive - get to spend quite a bit of time at Bruintjieskraal because its so close to home for us but because we always have the dogs with us, we don't venture further into the actual reserve.
I would recommend a 4x4 or at least a 4x2 with a lockable diff. Look, you could make it through in a 4x2 with some decent ground clearance but there are some parts where you may need it, especially if it’s wet - so rather safe than sorry! It’s what they recommend too. Passes like Prince Alfred, Swartberg and Seweweekspoort and more manageable without 4x4 but again, wet conditions totally turns that on its head!
Another lekker episode :-)
Thanks so much Joe!!!

Is the mattress inside the rooftop tent an inflatable?

Absolutely awesome I now need to visit Baviaans and I’m happy knowing that I’m not the only one that drinks my milkshake like that💪🤣

Do I need a 4 x 4 to go through the Baviaans?
