This man is a good teacher! He presented a great place to start on the drum set. What he showed was fun enough to keep a beginner excited and something basic to build upon! I’m a drummer originally from San Francisco and moved to France a year ago. Here, I’ve talked with young people who have never seen a live drummer! I’m sure that when they do, they will be amazed at the sights and sounds that a live rhythm section can deliver.
It's funny but I still appreciate Joshua Crawford still wanting to learn" I just laughed at him because he seemed like he was still a beginner 😁😁😁😁🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
this was my fav video you did so far! hope to see nathan post more on youtube in the near future! gave him the sub he was an awesome guy great personality. a perfect person to start this series off! Great idea Josh!!!
Dude! You played that off so good. You paced it perfectly and acted all innocent that whole way through. You had me crackin up through the whole video. I think your acting is as good as your drumming! Hollywood, watch out!
Loved it !!!! You played the role as an amateur beautifully! I thought you were an amateur myself when you began the prank 😂 But I know better. You have a great channel educational, interesting, and you have a great personality. I’ve been a subscriber to your channel for about a year and enjoy it. Being a musician/singer over 65 years myself, you seem humble and true to your craft, so in all that you do Blessings and salute Young man and keep doin’ what cha’ doin’🙏🏿👍🏽✌🏾🎼
When the dude and his lessons soul left their irrespective places 😄 that was cruelty at height of entertainment joshua 🤘🏴 keep these pranks going bro
Even for 11 years that's impressive as hell man, I've been playing for 17 years, at 16 I played my first big festival backline kit and I should check out your book and you have one of the best sound without having a super-expensive kit and goob vibes too!
It’s how Josh kept getting better and faster each exercise after playing for just two weeks lol. Clearly Josh was blessed with the genes of Tony Royster Jr mid lesson 🤣😂
Nathan is a nice guy. And that was his first Fiverr lesson. Sheeesh. Sorta messed up but these videos get clicks so I get it. If you see your kit with mics and all I am not thinking beginner LOL
@@MiniTime4342 lol why not? watching/analyzing how other drummers approach the instrument is a pretty critical aspect of being able to play this instrument at a high level....not doing so would be of great detriment
Because he's continually working with seasoned drummers in person. I doubt u really wanna know tho. Either way ur gonna have ur opinion. I won't be able to change ur mind. Plus how do u think drummers did it before UA-cam? Haha
I've never heard of him and I watch a lot of drumming video's. Of course, when I watch drumming video's I'm looking for "The Professor", why watch anybody else :)
Have us hear out the prank reveal next time Josh. I was laughing the whole time saying there's no way Nathan wasn't suspicious. The set you could have gotten away with, but that double kick early in the video was a - head tilt in disbelief - move. Great video!
I'm a drum teacher and we all have different teaching methods. The first thing I do with all of my students is teach them how to hold the sticks and proper hand technique. Nothing will work for you without this. To me that is the most important thing you should learn.
Love this. Not only because it was fun to watch, but because I learned things I wish I'd learned when I was 2 weeks in, 10 years ago xD love to see more of this, and like others said, maybe some talking afterwards :D
@@JoshDrumClass "I will have my own studio soon!" "That's cool" "Yeah... YAEAH." That was one of hell of "look at this snob rich newbie bitch" sounding "yeah" LMFAO
Both you guys got some 🔥🔥🔥 chops. I would like to learn some chops and fills. I’m a gospel quartet drummer which I stay in the pocket majority of the time. But I’m ready to spice it up a bit.
Nathan is a fantastic player, and extremely knowledgeable drum teacher! I would have loved to see you make him really work! He is totally worth the lessons and very professional.
That was great! I’m an old guy and might be missing some of your videos. Do you have any videos where you use a traditional grip? And, is the Guest Drummer coming back? Thanks!
Hey bruh. Someone probably already said this. This was good for more than one reason. I picked up some things, not only to mess around with myself, but because my main responsibility is keyboard now, I can teach it to someone else.
Haha, fun prank, although it’s putting a bunch of pressure on the drum teacher lol. I have a few in-person adult students who sometimes I swear are pranking me because they invent new ways of doing things absolutely weird! Always challenging but fun!
I’d actually like to see you take a lesson from Nate on things you can’t do that he can and evolve your playing. Not just watch you play the chops you already know. He better than you. You’re better than him. Just Different worlds. Let’s get these worlds together.
These are almost like when Jerry Lewis tried to battle buddy rich lollllll....but it's good break down things from scratch to see where those crazy fills are comming from...so hey keep goin...very helpful sirrrrr lolllllllll
Fun!! Look, he is indeed a great drummer but unless a lot was cut our up front. That was pretty confusing and disjointed instruction. ( I was a percussion major and taught durum’s for years. ).
I would have called it out right away, no beginner has a set like that unless there dad is idk some one like John longstreth ! lol but was fun to watch ,
He should’ve known he was being “setup” when he saw your “setup”! And your hand position from the very first hit was a DEAD GIVEAWAY!!! 🤯🤯🤯
It’s funny cause I actually learned a lot from his lesson 💀.
No cap me too lmao 🤣
Not gonna lie I was really learning what I need to learn on the drums from this lesson 🙂😭
Me too. Thisbwas a free lesson for me
Nate's good! Great drummer, great dude, should totally hit him up!
😆😆😆
same literally trying these chops
First red flag would’ve been the 5 star drum sound
Exactly

I like how you have a WHOLE mic'd up professional kit and pretended to be a beginner. Man Josh that's 🚩🚩🚩
Couldn't watch this without cringing bro u something else 😂😂😂
😂😂😂
This was funny. About halfway through you were really nailing the fills and he's got that look like "hold up" lol.
It's funny but I still appreciate Joshua Crawford still wanting to learn" I just laughed at him because he seemed like he was still a beginner 😁😁😁😁🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
nathanbigdrums kept it surprisingly professional despite everything. seemed like a cool guy :D
KUDOS TO THE INSTRUCTOR .....WHAT A NICE DISPOSITION, AND PERSONALITY.....Well he is a drummer...............

if you're into death metal. check out his bands Arkaik and Singularity (I'm a huge fan of Singularity) !
This really is an eye opener….thanks bro for teaching and sharing

The mics and cymbals gave it away too soon.🤣
I was very suspicious but I didn't want to take away from the lesson time 😂
LMFAO 🤣 YO THIS IS GOLD 😂😂😂
Hahaha bro
With this kind of kit it shows that you a pro 🤣
10:28 the moment he realised that he could let the spirit for a second🤣

idk how any drummer under the age of 50 would not recognize you...search anything drum related on youtube and your videos inevitably pop up
because he’s a metal drummer
Nathan tours a lot with multiple bands. He doesn't really look up drumming videos on UA-cam

I actually learnt some stuff from this. Like how to teach a beginner some fills.
There are few things more badass than a dude who wears a beanie inside. Total rebel.
Gotta keep the hair out of my face until I get a haircut 😩

Nice smooth grooves, and snuck in some clean taps on the blocks to spice it up. 😅
Great video, loved the way you were cool with him. He was great as well.

Hahahaha it's Nathan from arkaik!!! Dude is an absolute monster. Love that dude. Really cool guy too.
This was really cool 😎 This time around you got a great teacher, but you can also weed out the BAD teachers out there.
