I remember when I first read this I was SO MAD that Miyata had decided to not fight Ippo, thus prolonging the manga like 20 more years. I really hope George trains his assistants more, that way he could do less drawing and more writing, thus getting more manga out per release. I think Morikawa has turned into a fantastic artist and do not really want to see that less, but since the passing of Berserk's author, I have been scared of the same fate coming to us. I love the idea of Sendo almost beating Ricardo, Ricardo retiring after, Sendo moving up to rematch Volg, Miyata following because Ippo is still evolving, and things moving on from there. I forget the weight classes so I'm not putting too much though into it
@@KingKoohiiI think that miyata will be moving up and after ippo beats Ricardo he will be moving up as well, he was learning the weight management during his retirement for a reason and I think that his final showdown against Miyata is the reason for it. The author was also saying multiple times that Ippo was way to good and he couldn't make the fight equal, and I think that this will be the way to power up Miyata to Ippo's level, making the showdown either the last fight of the series or one before it (in this scenario takamura getting the heavyweight belt will be the last with all the japanese characters cheering on)
Haha, was it a creative choice to ignore the last punch? Randy actually gets up from the one you end on, and then throws another punch and Miyata breaks the speed out sound (????) to counter him
Hopefully people see what im saying here: yes, this match is a pinnacle of plot armour, but miyata is the one with plot armour, not rbj. Miyata was already tired out some from his weight cut, and he won the fight throwing full power counters with half his ribs broken. RBJ surviving the jolts early in the match is believable however. Given his smooth stance switching throughout the rounds, its pretty reasonable to assume miyata was either overextending his punches most of the time, and/or he wasnt able to extend his punches properly enough.
Honestly I feel like if ippo tried the vertical uppercut he’s gonna be hit with a downwards right like his uppercut getting countered in the second spar.

Plus Miyata wasn’t in the best shape anyway. It’s just the technicalities and specific impacts of the different stances. Saying one is as destructive as the other is false. Can it knock you out? he threw a straight right hand over top squared up over, Randy’s from a squared stance with broken ribs and it’s more impactful than a split guard counter ? Which was In the early rds , fully connected Where miyata slips the left and throws the right basically running Randy into a wall ? In the middle of a stance switch ….. @@SanDiegosGreatest Randy’s ribs weren’t broken. Miyata’s were. And he didn’t stand in a squared stance when throwing that right jab. Just typical southpaw jab. Of course a counter can be powerful with the right timing. But the point was that it wasn’t AS destructive as a counter against Randy’s straight. The step in isn’t as deep and fast. Plus Miyata wasn’t in the best shape anyway.
It’s just the technicalities and specific impacts of the different stances. Saying one is as destructive as the other is false. Can it knock you out? Sure? But the difference just made the cut in that specific scenario.
he threw a straight right hand over top squared up over, Randy’s from a squared stance with broken ribs and it’s more impactful than a split guard counter ? Which was In the early rds , fully connected Where miyata slips the left and throws the right basically running Randy into a wall ? In the middle of a stance switch …..
Iono man anime math ain’t matching with my irl experience.
But this is entertaining none the less
. Randy boy should of been out after that first split guard counter .
@@SanDiegosGreatest Randy’s ribs weren’t broken. Miyata’s were. And he didn’t stand in a squared stance when throwing that right jab. Just typical southpaw jab. Don’t know what splitting the guard has to do with this situation.
Just saying that Randy threw a jab, not a full blown right straight with the typical spinning of your right leg and hip.
@@KingKoohii I put the comma in the wrong place my apologies . I reviewed it again .there are panels that are missing so it wasn’t clear to me what if Randy was in South paw or ortho I had to re read the manga to see all pannels . , I originally thought Randy was in southpaw and miyata KOed him by throwing overtop . But it wasn’t that at all they both threw straight right hands . And Miyata timed it perfectly.
My apologies, I was wrong , I was the one overthinking. This type of KO recently happened , if you watch Teofimo Lopez KOs Richard Commey .
Oh and as for the split guard counter , that’s what they call the counter that miyata used when he first hurt Randy when Randy was in southpaw .
It would have been devastating if it didn't came from miyatas healing fist seriously buffs his enemies more than damage them😢
