Idk they’re both have drawbacks and are talented in their own way such as with Itagaki being born with Chrono vision and natural adaptability but was cursed with fists even softer than cookie dough, meanwhile Imai was born with learning adaptability on the level of the Baby Steps protagonist and fists that rivals Ippo’s.
I cant lie, itigaki would he a great friend for mashiba, mashibas a dark person with alot of anger and hatred and itigaki is the only person other than kumi that can actually get mashiba to calm down when hes pissed off, meaning if they hung out and trained together, itigaki could learn hitman and also gain more footwork and fighting iq due to their sparring and chats
Yes definitely. He’s super honest and direct. Plus, Mashiba respects him a lot due to their sparring sessions. But he’s a little more calm now anyway. Don’t know if you’ve read the most recent chapters. There has been change.

Generally, prime Itagaki is still much stronger than Imai. Just because you win does not automatically make you stronger. Out of 10 matches, Itagaki would win more than he loses because, in those 10 matches, he would come out of the corner faster before Imai could reach him. Moreover, Imai admits to feeling hugely inferior to Itagaki and says that this is the only way he can imagine winning. Otherwise, Itagaki would maul him when coming out of the corner. Unfortunately, Itagaki is now mentally nerfed after losing and is massively weaker he would not be able to beat imai if he keep being mentally nerfed
