Thank you for this! This way doesn'tkeep each document separated so some extra work - I hope that's the only problem. I have about ten different docs that need to be combined. I can't believe MS hasn't made it super simple as it seems that this is something people need to do frequently. Also the other problem is that some docs are formatted differently and I need to keep the margins and formatting as in original..... so I guess I'm going to just have to figure out a different way. This is messy. Needed to do some formatting before combining as a big PDF so either way it's not simple. If you have a workaround to format each page as originally intended please let us know!

This is so true!!!! I have wondered about creating a TOC and have each document's name organized in the TOC. But this would not help the problem of needing different formatting for each doc.

I convert original docx files into PDF separately, then use ilovepdf website to merge them, very simple without loosing any formatting, Microsoft needs to solve this basic issue.

If your pages are overlapping, insert a page break on one of the documents you want to combine, then follow the whole process shown in the video but only select the other document u wanted to combine
